[ Deuteronomy 4:1 - 4:9 ] - hymn 420 Take heed ... lest you forget the things your eyes have seen ... And teach them to your children and your grandchildren. — Deuteronomy 4:9 Many people take great care to make sure their resources are used well after they die. They set up trusts, write wills, and establish foundations to guarantee that their assets will continue to be used for a good purpose after their life on earth is done. We call this good stewardship. Equally important, however, is being good stewards of our life story. God commanded the Israelites not only to teach their children His laws but also to make sure they knew their family history. It was the responsibility of parents and grandparents to make sure their children knew the stories of how God had worked in their behalf (Deut.4:1-14). God has given each of us a unique story. His plan for our lives is individualized. Do others know what you believe and why? Do they know the story of how you came to faith and how God has worked in your life to strengthen your faith? Do they know how God has shown Himself faithful and has helped you through doubts and disappointments? The faithfulness of God is a story that we have the privilege to pass on. Record it in some way and share it. Be a good steward of the story that God is telling through you. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 신명기 4:1 - 4:9 ] - 찬송가 420 장 너는 스스로 삼가며…네가 눈으로 본 그 일을 잊어버리지 말라…너는 그 일들을 네 아들들과 손자들에게 알게 하라 — 신명기 4:9 많은 사람들은 죽은 후 자신들이 남긴 재산이 잘 사용되도록 많은 신경을 씁니다. 사람들은 이 세상에서 삶을 마친 후에 그들의 재산이 선한 목적을 위해 계속 사용될 것을 확실히 하기 위해 신탁을 설정하고, 유언장을 쓰고, 재단을 설립합니다. 이는 성실한 재산관리의 모습입니다. 그러나 우리 인생의 이야기를 성실히 관리하는 것도 똑같이 중요합니다. 하나님은 이스라엘 백성들에게 율법을 자녀들에게 가르칠 뿐 아니라 자녀들이 가족의 내력을 반드시 알게 하라고 명령하셨습니다. 부모와 조부모들은 하나님이 그들을 위하여 어떻게 역사하셨는가를 자녀들이 반드시 알도록 해야 할 책임이 있었습니다(신 4:1-14). 하나님은 우리 각각에게 독특한 인생이야기를 주셨습니다. 우리의 삶을 향한 하나님의 계획은 각각 다릅니다. 당신이 무엇을 믿으며, 그것을 믿는 이유가 무엇인지를 다른 사람들이 알고 있습니까? 당신이 어떻게 믿음을 갖게 되었으며, 하나님이 당신의 믿음을 강하게 하기 위하여 당신의 삶에 어떻게 역사하셨는지에 대한 이야기를 그들은 알고 있습니까? 그들은 하나님이 그분 자신의 신실하심을 어떻게 보여주셨고, 의심과 절망 가운데 있던 당신을 어떻게 도와주셨는지 알고 있습니까? 하나님의 신실하심은 우리가 특권을 갖고 전해야 할 이야기입니다. 어떤 형식으로든지 그것을 기록해두고 그 이야기를 함께 나누십시오. 하나님이 당신을 통하여 말씀하고 계시는 이야기를 맡은 성실한 관리인이 되십시오.

How great, O God, Your acts of love!
Your saving deeds would now proclaim
That generations yet to come

Deuteronomy 4:1-9

[1] "Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you.
[2] "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
[3] "Your eyes have seen what the LORD did at Baal Peor; for the LORD your God has destroyed from among you all the men who followed Baal of Peor.
[4] "But you who held fast to the LORD your God are alive today, every one of you.
[5] "Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should act according to them in the land which you go to possess.
[6] "Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, 'Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.'
[7] "For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?
[8] "And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?
[9] "Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren,

오 하나님, 하나님의 사랑은 얼마나 위대한지요!
앞으로 올 다음 세대가
하나님의 위대한 이름에 소망을 두도록
하나님의 구원의 행위가 지금 선포되게 하소서

하나님을 위해 산 인생은 영원한 유산을 남긴다.

신명기 4:1-9

[1] 이스라엘아 이제 내가 너희에게 가르치는 규례와 법도를 듣고 준행하라 그리하면 너희가 살 것이요 너희 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 주시는 땅에 들어가서 그것을 얻게 되리라
[2] 내가 너희에게 명령하는 말을 너희는 가감하지 말고 내가 너희에게 내리는 너희 하나님 여호와의 명령을 지키라
[3] 여호와께서 바알브올의 일로 말미암아 행하신 바를 너희가 눈으로 보았거니와 바알브올을 따른 모든 사람을 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 너희 가운데에서 멸망시키셨으되
[4] 오직 너희의 하나님 여호와께 붙어 떠나지 않은 너희는 오늘까지 다 생존하였느니라
[5] 내가 나의 하나님 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 규례와 법도를 너희에게 가르쳤나니 이는 너희가 들어가서 기업으로 차지할 땅에서 그대로 행하게 하려 함인즉
[6] 너희는 지켜 행하라 이것이 여러 민족 앞에서 너희의 지혜요 너희의 지식이라 그들이 이 모든 규례를 듣고 이르기를 이 큰 나라 사람은 과연 지혜와 지식이 있는 백성이로다 하리라
[7] 우리 하나님 여호와께서 우리가 그에게 기도할 때마다 우리에게 가까이 하심과 같이 그 신이 가까이 함을 얻은 큰 나라가 어디 있느냐
[8] 오늘 내가 너희에게 선포하는 이 율법과 같이 그 규례와 법도가 공의로운 큰 나라가 어디 있느냐
[9] 오직 너는 스스로 삼가며 네 마음을 힘써 지키라 그리하여 네가 눈으로 본 그 일을 잊어버리지 말라 네가 생존하는 날 동안에 그 일들이 네 마음에서 떠나지 않도록 조심하라 너는 그 일들을 네 아들들과 네 손자들에게 알게 하라
