Snake In A Box		상자 속의 뱀
[ Isaiah 11:1 - 11:9 ] - hymn 67 The earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD. — Isaiah 11:9 At a nature center, I watched my friend¡¯s rosy-cheeked toddler pat the side of a large glass box. Inside the box, a bull snake named Billy slithered slowly, eyeing the little girl. Billy¡¯s body was as thick as my forearm and he sported brown and yellow markings. Although I knew Billy could not escape from his container, seeing a menacing-looking creature so close to a small child made me shudder. The Bible speaks of a time in the future when fierce animals will fail to threaten each other or human beings. ¡°The wolf ... shall dwell with the lamb¡±and ¡°the nursing child shall play by the cobra¡¯s hole¡±(Isa.11:6,8). All the inhabitants of the world will experience total harmony and peace. The Lord will establish this safe environment when He restores the world with His wisdom, might, and knowledge. At that time, He will judge the world with righteousness and justice (11:4). And everyone will acknowledge His greatness: ¡°The earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord¡±(11:9). We live in a broken world. Unfairness and discord, fear and pain are a very real part of our daily lives. But one day God will change everything, and ¡°the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings¡±(Mal.4:2). Then Jesus will rule the world in righteousness. — Jennifer Benson Schuldt		[ 이사야 11:1 - 11:9 ] - 찬송가 67 장 여호와를 아는 지식이 세상에 충만할 것임이니라 — 이사야 11:9 자연 박물관에서 나는 발그레한 뺨을 가진 내 친구의 어린 딸이 큰 유리상자의 벽을 두드리는 것을 보고 있었습니다. 그 상자 안에는 ‘빌리’라고 불리는 구렁이가 이 작은 여자아이를 응시하면서 스르르 다가오고 있었습니다. 빌리의 몸뚱이는 내 팔뚝만큼 굵었고 갈색과 노란색의 점무늬가 박혀 있었습니다. 빌리가 그 상자 속에서 나올 수 없다는 것을 알고는 있었지만, 무서운 모습의 동물이 작은 어린아이 앞으로 아주 가까이 다가오는 것을 보니 소름이 끼쳤습니다. 성경은 훗날 사나운 짐승들이 서로서로를, 그리고 인간을 위협하지 못할 때가 올 것이라고 말씀합니다. “이리가 어린 양과 함께 살며…젖 먹는 아이가 독사의 구멍에서 장난하며”(사 11:6, 8). 그때에는 이 세상에 거하는 모든 생명체들이 다 함께 어울려서 사는 완전한 평화를 경험하게 될 것입니다. 하나님은 이 세상을 그분의 지혜와 능력과 지식으로 다시 회복시키실 때 이 같은 안전한 환경을 확고히 마련하실 것입니다. 그때 하나님은 정의와 공의로 세상을 심판하실 것이며(11:4), 모든 사람이 하나님의 위대하심을 인정하게 될 것입니다. “여호와를 아는 지식이 세상에 충만할 것임이니라”(11:9). 망가진 세상에서 살고 있는 우리는 불공평과 부조화, 두려움, 고통 등을 일상의 삶속에서 실제로 겪고 있습니다. 그러나 언젠가는 하나님이 모든 것을 바꾸시고, “공의로운 해가 떠올라서 치료하는 광선을 비출”것입니다(말 4:2). 그리고는 예수님이 공의로 세상을 다스리실 것입니다.

Leave final justice in the hands of a just God.

Isaiah 11:1-9

[1] There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
[2] The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
[3] His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
[4] But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
[5] Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
[6] "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them.
[7] The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
[8] The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den.
[9] They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.

내 영혼아 잠잠하라 그 때가 속히 오고 있으니
곧 우리가 영원히 주님과 함께 거할 때이라
그 때에 실망과 비탄, 두려움이 사라지고
슬픔도 잊혀지며 순결한 사랑의 기쁨이 회복되리라

이사야 11:1-9

[1] 이새의 줄기에서 한 싹이 나며 그 뿌리에서 한 가지가 나서 결실할 것이요
[2] 그의 위에 여호와의 영 곧 지혜와 총명의 영이요 모략과 재능의 영이요 지식과 여호와를 경외하는 영이 강림하시리니
[3] 그가 여호와를 경외함으로 즐거움을 삼을 것이며 그의 눈에 보이는 대로 심판하지 아니하며 그의 귀에 들리는 대로 판단하지 아니하며
[4] 공의로 가난한 자를 심판하며 정직으로 세상의 겸손한 자를 판단할 것이며 그의 입의 막대기로 세상을 치며 그의 입술의 기운으로 악인을 죽일 것이며
[5] 공의로 그의 허리띠를 삼으며 성실로 그의 몸의 띠를 삼으리라
[6] 그 때에 이리가 어린 양과 함께 살며 표범이 어린 염소와 함께 누우며 송아지와 어린 사자와 살진 짐승이 함께 있어 어린 아이에게 끌리며
[7] 암소와 곰이 함께 먹으며 그것들의 새끼가 함께 엎드리며 사자가 소처럼 풀을 먹을 것이며
[8] 젖 먹는 아이가 독사의 구멍에서 장난하며 젖 뗀 어린 아이가 독사의 굴에 손을 넣을 것이라
[9] 내 거룩한 산 모든 곳에서 해 됨도 없고 상함도 없을 것이니 이는 물이 바다를 덮음 같이 여호와를 아는 지식이 세상에 충만할 것임이니라
