Wonders Of The Heart		심장의 경이로움
[ Job 38:1 - 38:11 ] - hymn 64 By You I have been upheld from birth. — Psalm 71:6 Our heart beats about 100,000 times every day, pumping blood to every cell in our bodies. This adds up to about 35 million beats a year and 2.5 billion beats in an average lifetime. Medical science tells us that every contraction is similar to the effort it would take for us to hold a tennis ball in our palm and give it a good hard squeeze. Yet as amazing as our heart is, it is only one example of a natural world that is designed to tell us something about our Creator. This is the idea behind the story of a man named Job. Broken by a series of mounting troubles, Job felt abandoned. When God finally spoke, He didn¡¯t tell Job why he was suffering. Nor did the Creator tell him that someday He would suffer for Job. Instead, He drew Job¡¯s attention to a series of natural wonders that are always whispering to us¦¡and sometimes shouting¦¡about a wisdom and power far greater than our own (Job 38:1-11). So what can we learn from the complexity of this hardworking muscle, the heart? The message may be similar to the sound of waves coming to shore and stars quietly shining in the night sky. The power and wisdom of our Creator give us reason to trust Him. — Mart DeHaan		[ 욥기 38:1 - 38:11 ] - 찬송가 64 장 내가 모태에서부터 주를 의지하였으며 — 시편 71:6 우리의 심장은 매일 대략 10만 번의 박동을 하면서 우리 몸의 모든 세포에 피를 보냅니다. 이 숫자를 더하면 1년에 약 3천5백만 번, 평균수명으로 보면 한 사람이 살아있는 동안 25억 번의 박동을 하는 셈입니다. 의학연구에 의하면 심장이 한 번 수축하는 데에는 우리가 손바닥에 테니스공을 쥐고 그 공을 힘껏 쥐어짜는 것과 비슷한 힘이 필요하다고 합니다. 심장이 놀라운 것은 사실이지만, 그것은 우리 창조주에 대하여 무언가를 말해주고자 디자인된 이 자연세계에 있어서의 하나의 사례에 지나지 않습니다. 욥이라는 사람의 이야기에도 이런 인식이 배경으로 깔려 있습니다. 연이어 일어난 불상사로 인해 상심한 욥은 자신이 버림받았다고 느꼈습니다. 하나님이 마침내 말씀하실 때에도 욥이 왜 고통 받는 지에 대해서는 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 창조주는 또한 훗날 그 자신이 욥을 위해 고통 받으실 거라는 것도 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 그 대신에 하나님은 욥으로 하여금 우리보다 훨씬 위대하신 그분의 지혜와 권능에 대해서 우리에게 언제나 조용하게, 때로는 큰 소리로 말해주는 수많은 자연의 경이로움에 주목하게 하셨습니다(욥 38:1-11). 그러면 우리는 이렇게 열심히 일하는 복잡한 근육인 심장을 통해서 무엇을 배울 수 있을까요? 그 메시지는 해변에 몰려오는 파도소리나 소리 없이 빛나는 밤하늘의 별들과 비슷한 것일지도 모르겠습니다. 우리 창조주의 권능과 지혜는 우리가 그분을 신뢰할 수 있는 근거를 제공해줍니다.

When we reflect on the power of God¡¯s creation,
we see the power of His care for us.

Job 38:1-11

[1] Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
[2] "Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge?
[3] Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.
[4] "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.
[5] Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?
[6] To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,
[7] When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
[8] "Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb;
[9] When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band;
[10] When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors;
[11] When I said, 'This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!'

주님, 우리는 당신의 것, 주님은 우리의 하나님
우리는 아주 경이롭게 창조되었습니다.
우리 몸의 모든 구석구석 속에서
주님의 지혜와 권능과 사랑을 봅니다.

하나님의 창조의 권능을 묵상하면,
우리를 보살피는 그분의 힘을 알게 된다.

욥기 38:1-11

[1] 그 때에 여호와께서 폭풍우 가운데에서 욥에게 말씀하여 이르시되
[2] 무지한 말로 생각을 어둡게 하는 자가 누구냐
[3] 너는 대장부처럼 허리를 묶고 내가 네게 묻는 것을 대답할지니라
[4] 내가 땅의 기초를 놓을 때에 네가 어디 있었느냐 네가 깨달아 알았거든 말할지니라
[5] 누가 그것의 도량법을 정하였는지, 누가 그 줄을 그것의 위에 띄웠는지 네가 아느냐
[6] 그것의 주추는 무엇 위에 세웠으며 그 모퉁잇돌을 누가 놓았느냐
[7] 그 때에 새벽 별들이 기뻐 노래하며 하나님의 아들들이 다 기뻐 소리를 질렀느니라
[8] 바다가 그 모태에서 터져 나올 때에 문으로 그것을 가둔 자가 누구냐
[9] 그 때에 내가 구름으로 그 옷을 만들고 흑암으로 그 강보를 만들고
[10] 한계를 정하여 문빗장을 지르고
[11] 이르기를 네가 여기까지 오고 더 넘어가지 못하리니 네 높은 파도가 여기서 그칠지니라 하였노라
