[ 2 Corinthians 3:17 - 4:7 ] - hymn 323 We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. — 2 Corinthians 4:7 Christopher Locke buys old trumpets, trombones, and French horns and transforms them into acoustic amplifiers for iPhones and iPads. His creations are modeled on the trumpetlike speakers used in the first phonographs during the late 1800s. Music played through Christopher¡¯s AnalogTelePhonographers has a ¡°louder, cleaner, richer, deeper sound¡± than what is heard from the small speakers in the digital devices. Along with being interesting works of art, these salvaged brass instruments require no electrical power as they amplify the music people love to hear. Paul¡¯s words to the followers of Jesus in Corinth remind us today that in living for Christ and sharing Him with others, we are not the music but only a megaphone. ¡°For we do not preach ourselves,¡± Paul wrote, ¡°but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus¡¯ sake¡±(2 Cor.4:5). Our purpose is not to become the message, but to convey it through our lives and our lips. ¡°We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us¡±(v.7). If an old horn can amplify music, then perhaps our flawed lives can magnify the goodness of God. We¡¯re the megaphone; the music and the power come from Him! — David McCasland		[ 고린도후서 3:17 - 4:7 ] - 찬송가 323 장 우리가 이 보배를 질그릇에 가졌으니 이는 심히 큰 능력은 하나님께 있고 우리에게 있지 아니함을 알게 하려 함이라 — 고린도후서 4:7 크리스토퍼 로크는 낡은 트럼펫, 트롬본, 프렌치 호른을 사서 아이폰이나 아이패드를 위한 확성기로 개조합니다. 그의 창작은 1800년대 후반 축음기에 처음 사용된 트럼펫 모양의 스피커를 본 딴 것입니다. 크리스토퍼의 아날로그 무선음향기기를 통해 연주되는 음악은 디지털기기의 작은 스피커에서 들리는 것보다 “더 크고, 더 깨끗하고, 더 풍부하고, 더 깊은 소리”가 납니다. 낡은 금관악기들을 재활용해 만든 이것들은 아주 흥미로운 예술작품일 뿐만 아니라, 사람들이 듣고 싶은 음악의 소리를 크게 키울 때에도 전기가 전혀 필요하지 않습니다. 고린도의 성도들에게 해준 바울의 말은, 우리가 그리스도를 위하여 살고 다른 사람들에게 예수님을 전하며 살 때, 우리는 음악이 아니라 단지 확성기일 뿐이라는 사실을 되새겨줍니다. 그는 이렇게 썼습니다. “우리는 우리를 전파하는 것이 아니라 오직 그리스도 예수의 주 되신 것과 또 예수를 위하여 우리가 너희의 종 된 것을 전파함이라”(고후 4:5). 우리의 목적은 복음의 메시지가 되는 것이 아니라 우리의 삶과 입술을 통하여 복음을 전달하는 것입니다. “우리가 이 보배를 질그릇에 가졌으니 이는 심히 큰 능력은 하나님께 있고 우리에게 있지 아니함을 알게 하려 함이라”(7절). 만약 낡은 호른이 음악 소리를 크게 할 수 있다면, 허물이 있는 우리의 삶도 어쩌면 하나님의 선하심을 크게 확대할 수 있을 것입니다. 우리는 확성기입니다. 음악과 능력은 하나님께로부터 나옵니다!

and use them in ways we never thought
possible. Help us to be the instruments
that convey the music of Your love.

Nothing is unusable in God¡¯s hands.

2 Corinthians 3:17-4:7

[17] Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
[18] But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
[4:1] Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.
[2] But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
[3] But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
[4] whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
[5] For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake.
[6] For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
[7] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

주님, 우리의 삶을 택하셔서
우리가 가능하리라고 전혀 생각지도 못한 방법으로
사용하여 주시니 감사합니다. 주님의 사랑의 음악을 전달하는
악기가 되도록 우리를 도와주소서.

하나님의 손에는 쓸모없는 것이 하나도 없다.

고린도후서 3:17-4:7

[17] 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유가 있느니라
[18] 우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는 것 같이 주의 영광을 보매 그와 같은 형상으로 변화하여 영광에서 영광에 이르니 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라
[4:1] 그러므로 우리가 이 직분을 받아 긍휼하심을 입은 대로 낙심하지 아니하고
[2] 이에 숨은 부끄러움의 일을 버리고 속임으로 행하지 아니하며 하나님의 말씀을 혼잡하게 하지 아니하고 오직 진리를 나타냄으로 하나님 앞에서 각 사람의 양심에 대하여 스스로 추천하노라
[3] 만일 우리의 복음이 가리었으면 망하는 자들에게 가리어진 것이라
[4] 그 중에 이 세상의 신이 믿지 아니하는 자들의 마음을 혼미하게 하여 그리스도의 영광의 복음의 광채가 비치지 못하게 함이니 그리스도는 하나님의 형상이니라
[5] 우리는 우리를 전파하는 것이 아니라 오직 그리스도 예수의 주 되신 것과 또 예수를 위하여 우리가 너희의 종 된 것을 전파함이라
[6] 어두운 데에 빛이 비치라 말씀하셨던 그 하나님께서 예수 그리스도의 얼굴에 있는 하나님의 영광을 아는 빛을 우리 마음에 비추셨느니라
[7] 우리가 이 보배를 질그릇에 가졌으니 이는 심히 큰 능력은 하나님께 있고 우리에게 있지 아니함을 알게 하려 함이라
