Undeserved Praise		받을 자격이 없는 칭찬
[ Luke 5:27 - 5:32 ] - hymn 538 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. — Luke 5:32 Even before I could afford a self-cleaning oven, I managed to keep my oven clean. Guests even commented on it when we had them over for a meal. ¡°Wow, your oven is so clean. It looks like new.¡± I accepted the praise even though I knew I didn¡¯t deserve it. The reason my oven was clean had nothing to do with my meticulous scrubbing; it was clean because I so seldom used it. How often, I wonder, am I guilty of accepting undeserved admiration for my ¡°clean¡± life? It¡¯s easy to give the impression of being virtuous; simply do nothing difficult, controversial, or upsetting to people. But Jesus said we are to love people who don¡¯t agree with us, who don¡¯t share our values, who don¡¯t even like us. Love requires that we get involved in the messy situations of people¡¯s lives. Jesus was frequently in trouble with religious leaders who were more concerned about keeping their own reputations clean than they were about the spiritual condition of those they were supposed to care for. They considered Jesus and His disciples unclean for mingling with sinners when they were simply trying to rescue people from their destructive way of life (Luke 5:30-31). True disciples of Jesus are willing to risk their own reputations to help others out of the mire of sin. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 누가복음 5:27 - 5:32 ] - 찬송가 538 장 내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 불러 회개시키러 왔노라 — 누가복음 5:32 나는 자동청소 기능이 있는 오븐을 사기 전에도 오븐을 깨끗하게 유지하고 있었습니다. 식사에 초대된 손님들이 그것을 언급하기까지 했습니다. “와, 댁의 오븐은 정말 깨끗하군요. 마치 새 것 같아요.”나는 칭찬 받을 자격이 없음을 알면서도 그 칭찬을 받아들였습니다. 내 오븐이 깨끗한 이유는 꼼꼼히 닦아서가 아니라 실은 거의 사용하지 않았기 때문입니다. 내가 얼마나 자주 나의 “깨끗한”삶에 대한 부적절한 찬사를 받아들이는 잘못을 저지르고 있는지 궁금합니다. 고결한 듯한 인상을 주기는 쉽습니다. 그저 곤란하거나 논란이 되는 것, 혹은 다른 사람들을 언짢게 하는 것들을 하지 않으면 됩니다. 하지만 예수님은 우리와 동의하지 않는 사람들, 우리와 가치관이 다른 사람들, 심지어 우리를 좋아하지도 않는 사람들을 사랑해야 한다고 말씀하셨습니다. 사랑은 우리가 다른 사람들의 삶의 번잡한 상황에 관여할 것을 요구합니다. 예수님도 돌봐주어야 할 사람들의 영적 상태보다는 자신들의 평판을 깨끗이 유지하는 데에 더 신경을 쓰던 종교지도자들과 자주 부딪치셨습니다. 그들은 예수님과 제자들이 단순히 해로운 삶의 방식으로부터 사람들을 구해주려고 죄인들과 어울리는 것을 보고 깨끗하지 못하다고 생각했습니다(눅 5:30-31). 진정한 예수님의 제자들은 다른 사람들이 죄의 수렁에서 빠져나오도록 돕기 위해서라면 자신의 평판에 대한 위험을 기꺼이 감수하는 사람들입니다.

Dear Lord, give me a heart of compassion for
those who are lost in sin. Help me not to be
concerned about what others think of me but
only that Your holy name will be honored.

Christ sends us out to bring others in.

Luke 5:27-32

[27] After these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me."
[28] So he left all, rose up, and followed Him.
[29] Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them.
[30] And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"
[31] Jesus answered and said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
[32] "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

사랑하는 주님,
죄에 빠진 사람들에 대한 연민의 마음을 허락하소서.
다른 사람들이 나를 어떻게 생각할까가 아니라
주님의 거룩한 이름이 영광 받는 것에만 관심을 갖게 하소서.

예수님은 다른 사람들을 데려오라고 우리를 보내신다.

누가복음 5:27-32

[27] 그 후에 예수께서 나가사 레위라 하는 세리가 세관에 앉아 있는 것을 보시고 나를 따르라 하시니
[28] 그가 모든 것을 버리고 일어나 따르니라
[29] 레위가 예수를 위하여 자기 집에서 큰 잔치를 하니 세리와 다른 사람이 많이 함께 앉아 있는지라
[30] 바리새인과 그들의 서기관들이 그 제자들을 비방하여 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 세리와 죄인과 함께 먹고 마시느냐
[31] 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 건강한 자에게는 의사가 쓸 데 없고 병든 자에게라야 쓸 데 있나니
[32] 내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 불러 회개시키러 왔노라
