Mysterious Detours		신비한 우회도로
[ Genesis 12:1 - 12:10 ] - hymn 379 Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered them. — Psalm 22:4 Before my wife and I embarked on a 400-mile road trip, I set up the GPS with our daughter¡¯s home in Missouri as the destination. As we traveled through Illinois, the GPS instructed us to get off the Interstate, resulting in a detour through the city of Harvey. After the GPS directed us back to I-80, I was baffled by this mysterious detour. Why were we directed off a perfectly good highway? I¡¯ll never know the answer. We continued on our way, and we trusted the GPS to get us there and home again. That got me to thinking about detours in life. We may seem to be traveling on a smooth pathway. Then for some reason, God redirects us into an unfamiliar area. Perhaps it is an illness, or a crisis at work or school, or an unexpected tragedy occurs. We don¡¯t understand what God is doing. Abraham faced a mysterious detour when God told him, ¡°Get out of your country, from your family and from your father¡¯s house¡±(Gen.12:1). Surely Abraham must have wondered why God was routing him to the Negev desert. But he trusted God and His good purposes. A GPS may make mistakes, but we can trust our unfailing God (Ps.22:4). He will guide us through all our mysterious detours and lead us where He wants us to go. — Dave Branon		[ 창세기 12:1 - 12:10 ] - 찬송가 379 장 우리 조상들이 주께 의뢰하고 의뢰하였으므로 그들을 건지셨나이다 — 시편 22:4 아내와 함께 640킬로미터 거리의 도로여행을 떠나기 전 나는 지피에스에 미주리주에 있는 딸의 집을 목적지로 입력했습니다. 일리노이주를 지나갈 때 지피에스가 고속도로를 빠져 나가라고 하여 하비라는 도시를 통과하는 길로 우회하게 되었습니다. 지피에스가 가리킨 대로 다시 고속도로 I-80으로 들어선 후 나는 왜 우회를 한 것인지 이해가 가지 않았습니다. 왜 우리를 멀쩡한 고속도로로부터 빠져나오라고 했을까요? 나는 결코 그 답을 알지 못할 것입니다. 우리는 여행을 계속하였으며, 지피에스가 우리를 목적지로 데려다 주고 다시 집으로 안내해줄 것이라고 믿었습니다. 그 일로 나는 삶에 있어서의 우회로에 대해 생각해보게 되었습니다. 우리는 평탄한 길을 여행하고 있다고 느낄 수도 있습니다. 그러다가 무슨 이유로 하나님이 우리를 낯선 지역으로 바꾸어 인도하십니다. 아마도 그것은 질병, 또는 직장이나 학교에서의 위기일 수도 있고, 예기치 못한 비극일 수도 있을 것입니다. 우리는 하나님이 무엇을 하시는지 이해하지 못합니다. 하나님이 아브라함에게 “너의 고향과 친척과 아버지의 집을 떠나”(창 12:1)라고 말씀하셨을 때, 아브라함도 이 불가사의한 우회를 마주하게 되었습니다. 하나님이 왜 그를 네게브 사막으로 인도하시는지 그도 분명히 궁금했을 것입니다. 그러나 아브라함은 하나님과 그분의 선하신 목적을 믿었습니다. 지피에스는 실수할 수 있지만, 우리는 틀림이 없으신 하나님을 신뢰할 수 있습니다(시 22:4). 우리가 모든 불가사의한 우회로를 지나는 동안 하나님이 우리를 인도하셔서, 마침내 하나님이 원하시는 곳으로 우리를 이끄실 것입니다.

We seek Your guidance, Lord, but we understand
that our path won¡¯t always be without challenges.
Help us to trust You through the detours—knowing
that You have our best interests and Your honor at heart.

We don¡¯t need to see the way when we stay close to the One who does.

Genesis 12:1-10; 13:1

[1] Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.
[2] I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
[3] I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
[4] So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
[5] Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.
[6] Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, as far as the terebinth tree of Moreh. And the Canaanites were then in the land.
[7] Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." And there he built an altar to the LORD, who had appeared to him.
[8] And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.
[9] So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.
[10] Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land.

[13:1] Then Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, to the South.

주님, 우리가 주님의 인도하심을 간구하지만, 우리의 경로가
언제나 어려움이 없는 길이 아닐 거라는 것을 압니다. 주님이 우리의
최선에 관심을 가지시고 주님의 영광을 드러내신다는 것을 알고,
우회를 통하여서 주님을 신뢰할 수 있도록 도와주소서.

길을 보시는 하나님께 가까이 머무를 때
우리는 길을 볼 필요가 없다.

창세기 12:1-10; 13:1

[1] 여호와께서 아브람에게 이르시되 너는 너의 고향과 친척과 아버지의 집을 떠나 내가 네게 보여 줄 땅으로 가라
[2] 내가 너로 큰 민족을 이루고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 창대하게 하리니 너는 복이 될지라
[3] 너를 축복하는 자에게는 내가 복을 내리고 너를 저주하는 자에게는 내가 저주하리니 땅의 모든 족속이 너로 말미암아 복을 얻을 것이라 하신지라
[4] 이에 아브람이 여호와의 말씀을 따라갔고 롯도 그와 함께 갔으며 아브람이 하란을 떠날 때에 칠십오 세였더라
[5] 아브람이 그의 아내 사래와 조카 롯과 하란에서 모은 모든 소유와 얻은 사람들을 이끌고 가나안 땅으로 가려고 떠나서 마침내 가나안 땅에 들어갔더라
[6] 아브람이 그 땅을 지나 세겜 땅 모레 상수리나무에 이르니 그 때에 가나안 사람이 그 땅에 거주하였더라
[7] 여호와께서 아브람에게 나타나 이르시되 내가 이 땅을 네 자손에게 주리라 하신지라 자기에게 나타나신 여호와께 그가 그 곳에서 제단을 쌓고
[8] 거기서 벧엘 동쪽 산으로 옮겨 장막을 치니 서쪽은 벧엘이요 동쪽은 아이라 그가 그 곳에서 여호와께 제단을 쌓고 여호와의 이름을 부르더니
[9] 점점 남방으로 옮겨갔더라
[10] 그 땅에 기근이 들었으므로 아브람이 애굽에 거류하려고 그리로 내려갔으니 이는 그 땅에 기근이 심하였음이라

[13:1] 아브람이 애굽에서 그와 그의 아내와 모든 소유와 롯과 함께 네게브로 올라가니
