[ Romans 12:1 - 12:8 ] - hymn 421 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. — Romans 12:2 Educator and best-selling author Tony Wagner is a firm believer in ¡°disruptive innovation¡± that changes the way the world thinks and works. In his book Creating Innovators: The Making of Young People Who Will Change the World, he says, ¡°Innovation occurs in every aspect of human endeavor,¡± and ¡°most people can become more creative and innovative—given the right environment and opportunities.¡± Paul was a first-century innovator who traveled throughout Asia Minor telling people how they could be transformed by faith in Jesus Christ. To the Christians in Rome Paul wrote, ¡°Don¡¯t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think¡±(Rom.12:2 nlt). He urged them to give themselves fully to God (v.1). In a self-centered, greedy, and grasping world, Paul nurtured and mentored them in how to live a Christ-centered, giving life. The world has changed dramatically since Paul¡¯s time. But the longings of people for love, forgiveness, and the power to change remain the same. Jesus, the Great Innovator, offers all of these and invites us to experience a new and different life in Him. — David McCasland		[ 로마서 12:1 - 12:8 ] - 찬송가 421 장 너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 — 로마서 12:2 교육자이며 베스트셀러 작가인 토니 와그너는 세상의 생각과 행동양식을 변화시키는 “파괴적인 혁신”을 철저히 신봉하는 사람입니다. 그의 저서 ≪창조적 혁신자: 세상을 변화시키는 젊은이 만들기≫에서 그는 “혁신은 인간이 시도하는 모든 일에서 일어나고 있으며, 적절한 환경과 기회만 주어진다면 대다수의 사람들은 더 창조적이고 혁신적으로 변화될 수 있다.”고 말합니다. 바울은 소아시아 지역 곳곳을 여행하며 사람들이 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 어떻게 변화될 수 있는지를 말했던 1세기의 혁신자였습니다. 바울은 로마에 있던 그리스도인들에게 “너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아”(롬 12:2)라고 편지를 썼습니다. 그는 그들의 몸을 온전히 하나님께 드리라고 강력히 권고했습니다(1절). 자기중심적이고 탐욕스럽고 집착하는 이 세상에서, 바울은 그들에게 어떻게 예수님 중심적이고 베푸는 삶을 살 것인지에 대해 조언하고 양육했습니다. 바울시대 이후로 세상은 엄청나게 변했습니다. 그러나 사람들이 사랑과 용서와 변화시키는 능력을 갈구하는 것은 여전합니다. 이 모든 것을 제공하시는 위대한 혁신자 예수님은 주님 안에서 새롭고 다른 삶을 경험하도록 우리를 부르시고 계십니다.

I¡¯m thankful for the ways You¡¯re changing me,
Lord. Help me to be open to You and to
cooperate with Your work in me.
Transform me to be like You.

God takes us as we are but never leaves us that way.

Romans 12:1-8

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
[3] For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
[4] For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,
[5] so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
[6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
[7] or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;
[8] he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

주님, 주께서 저를 변화시켜 주시니 감사합니다.
주님께 열린 마음을 갖게 해주시고,
제 안에서 역사하시는 주님과 협조하도록 도와주소서.
주님을 닮아가도록 저를 변화시켜 주소서.

하나님은 우리를 있는 그대로 받아주시지만
결코 그대로 내버려두시지 않는다.

로마서 12:1-8

[1] 그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 이는 너희가 드릴 영적 예배니라
[2] 너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라
[3] 내게 주신 은혜로 말미암아 너희 각 사람에게 말하노니 마땅히 생각할 그 이상의 생각을 품지 말고 오직 하나님께서 각 사람에게 나누어 주신 믿음의 분량대로 지혜롭게 생각하라
[4] 우리가 한 몸에 많은 지체를 가졌으나 모든 지체가 같은 기능을 가진 것이 아니니
[5] 이와 같이 우리 많은 사람이 그리스도 안에서 한 몸이 되어 서로 지체가 되었느니라
[6] 우리에게 주신 은혜대로 받은 은사가 각각 다르니 혹 예언이면 믿음의 분수대로,
[7] 혹 섬기는 일이면 섬기는 일로, 혹 가르치는 자면 가르치는 일로,
[8] 혹 위로하는 자면 위로하는 일로, 구제하는 자는 성실함으로, 다스리는 자는 부지런함으로, 긍휼을 베푸는 자는 즐거움으로 할 것이니라
