The Language Of Whistling		휘파람 언어
[ Zechariah 10:1 - 10:8 ] - hymn 401 I will whistle for them and gather them, for I will redeem them. — Zechariah 10:8 On La Gomera, one of the smallest of the Canary Islands, a language that sounds like a bird song is being revived. In a land of deep valleys and steep ravines, schoolchildren and tourists are learning how whistling was once used to communicate for distances up to 2 miles. One goat herder who is using this ancient language once again to communicate with his flock said, ¡°They recognize my whistle as they recognize my voice.¡± The practice of whistling also shows up in the Bible, where God is described as a shepherd whistling for His sheep. This image could be what the prophet had in mind when he described how God will one day whistle to bring a wandering and scattered people back to Himself (Zech.10:8). Many years later Jesus said, ¡°My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me¡± (John 10:27). That may be the whistle of a shepherd. Sheep don¡¯t understand words, but they know the sound that signals the shepherd¡¯s presence. Misleading voices and distracting noises still compete for our attention (cf. Zech.10:2). Yet God has ways of signaling us, even without words. By events that can be alarming or encouraging, He reminds us of His guiding, protecting, and reassuring presence. — Mart DeHaan		[ 스가랴 10:1 - 10:8 ] - 찬송가 401 장 내가 그들을 향하여 휘파람을 불어 그들을 모을 것은 내가 그들을 구속하였음이라 — 스가랴 10:8 카나리아 제도의 가장 작은 섬 중에 하나인 라 고메라 섬에서 새소리와 같은 언어가 다시 살아나고 있습니다. 깊은 골짜기와 가파른 협곡으로 가득 찬 이 땅에서 어린 학생들과 여행객들이 예전에는 어떻게 휘파람을 사용해서 약 3킬로미터나 떨어진 곳까지 의사를 전달했는지를 배우고 있습니다. 기르는 염소들과의 소통을 위해 이 고대 언어를 다시 사용하고 있는 어느 목자는 “염소들은 내 목소리를 알아듣는 것처럼 내 휘파람 소리도 알아듣습니다.”라고 말합니다. 성경에도 휘파람을 사용하는 것이 나오는데, 거기에는 하나님이 자기의 양떼를 향하여 휘파람을 부는 목자로 묘사되어 있습니다. 선지자가 장차 하나님이 흩어져 방황하는 백성들을 자기에게로 다시 불러 모으기 위해 휘파람을 부실 것이라고 묘사했을 때(슥 10:8), 선지자의 마음속에는 이 목자의 이미지가 그려져 있었을 것입니다. 오랜 세월이 지난 후에 예수님도 “내 양은 내 음성을 들으며 나는 그들을 알며 그들은 나를 따르느니라”(요 10:27)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그 음성은 바로 목자의 휘파람소리일지도 모릅니다. 양들은 말은 알아듣지 못하지만 목자가 내는 소리는 알아듣기 때문입니다. 잘못 인도하는 목소리나 혼란케 하는 잡음들이 아직도 우리의 주의를 방해합니다(슥 10:2). 그러나 하나님은 아무런 말씀 없이도 우리에게 신호를 보내는 방법들을 갖고 계십니다. 위급한 일이나 용기를 주는 일들을 통하여 하나님은 하나님의 인도하심과 보호하심, 그리고 임재의 확신을 우리에게 알게 해주십니다.

Father, it is a noisy world. Thank You for
always calling to us above the din and
ruckus that distracts us. Help us to recognize
Your voice and follow Your leading.

The call of God can always be heard.

Zechariah 10:1-8

[1] Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.
[2] For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is no shepherd.
[3] "My anger is kindled against the shepherds, And I will punish the goatherds. For the LORD of hosts will visit His flock, The house of Judah, And will make them as His royal horse in the battle.
[4] From him comes the cornerstone, From him the tent peg, From him the battle bow, From him every ruler together.
[5] They shall be like mighty men, Who tread down their enemies In the mire of the streets in the battle. They shall fight because the LORD is with them, And the riders on horses shall be put to shame.
[6] "I will strengthen the house of Judah, And I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back, Because I have mercy on them. They shall be as though I had not cast them aside; For I am the LORD their God, And I will hear them.
[7] Those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, And their heart shall rejoice as if with wine. Yes, their children shall see it and be glad; Their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.
[8] I will whistle for them and gather them, For I will redeem them; And they shall increase as they once increased.

하나님 아버지, 세상은 시끄럽습니다.
우리를 혼란케 하는 소음과 소동에서 늘 우리를
불러내어 주시니 감사를 드립니다. 주님의 음성을 분별하며
주님의 인도하심을 따를 수 있도록 도와주소서.

하나님의 부르심은 언제나 들을 수 있다.

스가랴 10:1-8

[1] 봄비가 올 때에 여호와 곧 구름을 일게 하시는 여호와께 비를 구하라 무리에게 소낙비를 내려서 밭의 채소를 각 사람에게 주시리라
[2] 드라빔들은 허탄한 것을 말하며 복술자는 진실하지 않은 것을 보고 거짓 꿈을 말한즉 그 위로가 헛되므로 백성들이 양 같이 유리하며 목자가 없으므로 곤고를 당하나니
[3] 내가 목자들에게 노를 발하며 내가 숫염소들을 벌하리라 만군의 여호와가 그 무리 곧 유다 족속을 돌보아 그들을 전쟁의 준마와 같게 하리니
[4] 모퉁잇돌이 그에게서, 말뚝이 그에게서, 싸우는 활이 그에게서, 권세 잡은 자가 다 일제히 그에게서 나와서
[5] 싸울 때에 용사 같이 거리의 진흙 중에 원수를 밟을 것이라 여호와가 그들과 함께 한즉 그들이 싸워 말 탄 자들을 부끄럽게 하리라
[6] 내가 유다 족속을 견고하게 하며 요셉 족속을 구원할지라 내가 그들을 긍휼히 여김으로 그들이 돌아오게 하리니 그들은 내가 내버린 일이 없었음 같이 되리라 나는 그들의 하나님 여호와라 내가 그들에게 들으리라
[7] 에브라임이 용사 같아서 포도주를 마심 같이 마음이 즐거울 것이요 그들의 자손은 보고 기뻐하며 여호와로 말미암아 마음에 즐거워하리라
[8] 내가 그들을 향하여 휘파람을 불어 그들을 모을 것은 내가 그들을 구속하였음이라 그들이 전에 번성하던 것 같이 번성하리라
