[ 2 Samuel 1:17 - 1:27 ] - hymn 369 David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son. — 2 Samuel 1:17 In March 2011, a devastating tsunami struck Japan, taking nearly 16,000 lives as it obliterated towns and villages along the coast. Writer and poet Gretel Erlich visited Japan to witness and document the destruction. When she felt inadequate to report what she was seeing, she wrote a poem about it. In a PBS NewsHour interview she said, ¡°My old friend William Stafford, a poet now gone, said, ¡®A poem is an emergency of the spirit.¡¯¡± We find poetry used throughout the Bible to express deep emotion, ranging from joyful praise to anguished loss. When King Saul and his son Jonathan were killed in battle, David was overwhelmed with grief (2 Sam.1:1-12). He poured out his soul in a poem he called ¡°the Song of the Bow¡±:¡°Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided.... How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! ... I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; you have been very pleasant to me¡±(vv.23-26). When we face ¡°an emergency of the spirit¡±—whether glad or sad—our prayers can be a poem to the Lord. While we may stumble to articulate what we feel, our heavenly Father hears our words as a true expression of our hearts. — David McCasland		[ 사무엘하 1:17 - 1:27 ] - 찬송가 369 장 다윗이 이 슬픈 노래로 사울과 그의 아들 요나단을 조상하고 — 사무엘하 1:17 2011년 3월, 엄청난 해일이 일본을 덮쳐 해변의 마을과 작은 도시들을 완전히 쑥대밭으로 만들면서 거의 16,000명이나 되는 사람들의 목숨을 앗아갔습니다. 작가이자 시인인 그레텔 얼릭은 파괴된 현장을 목격하고 그것을 기록으로 남기기 위해 일본으로 갔습니다. 그러나 눈앞에 전개된 현장을 보고는 그 상황이 보도하기에는 적절하지 않음을 깨닫고, 대신 시를 썼습니다. 미국공영방송 <뉴스아워> 프로그램의 인터뷰에서 그녀는 “이제는 이 세상 사람이 아닌 나의 오랜 친구 윌리엄 스태포드 시인이 ‘시는 영혼의 비상사태’라고 했어요.”라고 말했습니다. 성경에서도 즐거운 찬양으로부터 번뇌로 가득 찬 상실에 이르기까지 깊은 감정을 표현하기 위해 시가 사용되었습니다. 사울 왕과 그의 아들 요나단이 전투에서 죽었을 때 다윗은 슬픔에 어쩔 줄을 몰랐습니다(삼하 1:1-12). 그는 “활의 애가”라는 시 속에 자신의 마음을 온전히 쏟아 부었습니다. “사울과 요나단이 생전에 사랑스럽고 아름다운 자이러니 죽을 때에도 서로 떠나지 아니하였도다…오호라 두 용사가 전쟁 중에 엎드러졌도다…내 형 요나단이여 내가 그대를 애통함은 그대는 내게 심히 아름다움이라”(23-26절). 기쁜 일이건 슬픈 일이건 우리가 “영혼의 비상사태”에 직면할 때, 우리의 기도가 주님께 드리는 시가 될 수 있습니다. 우리의 감정을 말로 제대로 표현하지 못할 때에라도 우리 하나님 아버지는 우리의 말을 우리 마음이 표현하고자 하는 그대로 들으십니다.

2 Samuel 1:17-27

[17] Then David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son,
[18] and he told them to teach the children of Judah the Song of the Bow; indeed it is written in the Book of Jasher:
[19] "The beauty of Israel is slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen!
[20] Tell it not in Gath, Proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon--Lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, Lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
[21] "O mountains of Gilboa, Let there be no dew nor rain upon you, Nor fields of offerings. For the shield of the mighty is cast away there! The shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.
[22] From the blood of the slain, From the fat of the mighty, The bow of Jonathan did not turn back, And the sword of Saul did not return empty.
[23] "Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives, And in their death they were not divided; They were swifter than eagles, They were stronger than lions.
[24] "O daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, Who clothed you in scarlet, with luxury; Who put ornaments of gold on your apparel.
[25] "How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan was slain in your high places.
[26] I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; You have been very pleasant to me; Your love to me was wonderful, Surpassing the love of women.
[27] "How the mighty have fallen, And the weapons of war perished!"

때로는 말로 기도하지 않고
내 마음을 두 손에 담아
주님 앞에 올려드리네
주님이 이해하시니 얼마나 기쁜지

하나님은 우리의 말을 들으시는 것 이상으로
우리의 마음을 읽으신다.

사무엘하 1:17-27

[18] 명령하여 그것을 유다 족속에게 가르치라 하였으니 곧 활 노래라 야살의 책에 기록되었으되
[19] 이스라엘아 네 영광이 산 위에서 죽임을 당하였도다 오호라 두 용사가 엎드러졌도다
[20] 이 일을 가드에도 알리지 말며 아스글론 거리에도 전파하지 말지어다 블레셋 사람들의 딸들이 즐거워할까, 할례 받지 못한 자의 딸들이 개가를 부를까 염려로다
[21] 길보아 산들아 너희 위에 이슬과 비가 내리지 아니하며 제물 낼 밭도 없을지어다 거기서 두 용사의 방패가 버린 바 됨이니라 곧 사울의 방패가 기름 부음을 받지 아니함 같이 됨이로다
[22] 죽은 자의 피에서, 용사의 기름에서 요나단의 활이 뒤로 물러가지 아니하였으며 사울의 칼이 헛되이 돌아오지 아니하였도다
[23] 사울과 요나단이 생전에 사랑스럽고 아름다운 자이러니 죽을 때에도 서로 떠나지 아니하였도다 그들은 독수리보다 빠르고 사자보다 강하였도다
[24] 이스라엘 딸들아 사울을 슬퍼하여 울지어다 그가 붉은 옷으로 너희에게 화려하게 입혔고 금 노리개를 너희 옷에 채웠도다
[25] 오호라 두 용사가 전쟁 중에 엎드러졌도다 요나단이 네 산 위에서 죽임을 당하였도다
[26] 내 형 요나단이여 내가 그대를 애통함은 그대는 내게 심히 아름다움이라 그대가 나를 사랑함이 기이하여 여인의 사랑보다 더하였도다
[27] 오호라 두 용사가 엎드러졌으며 싸우는 무기가 망하였도다 하였더라
