On Being Known		알려진다는 것
[ James 5:16 - 5:20 ] - hymn 363 I acknowledged my sin to You ... I said, ¡°I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,¡± and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. — Psalm 32:5 One of the most difficult inner conflicts we have is our desire to be known versus our fear of being known. As beings created in the image of God we are made to be known—known by God and also by others. Yet due to our fallen nature, all of us have sins and weaknesses that we don¡¯t want others to know about. We use the phrase ¡°dark side¡± to refer to aspects of our lives that we keep hidden. And we use slogans like ¡°put your best foot forward¡± to encourage others to show their best side. One reason we are unwilling to risk being known is that we fear rejection and ridicule. But when we discover that God knows us, loves us, and is willing to forgive even the worst thing we have done, our fear of being known by God begins to fade away. And when we find a community of believers who understands the dynamic relationship between forgiveness and confession, we feel safe confessing our sins to one another (James 5:16). The life of faith is not about showing only our good side. It¡¯s about exposing our dark side to the light of Christ through confession to God and also to others. In this way we can receive healing and live in the freedom of forgiveness. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 야고보서 5:16 - 5:20 ] - 찬송가 363 장 내 허물을 여호와께 자복하리라 하고 주께 내 죄를 아뢰고…곧 주께서 내 죄악을 사하셨나이다 — 시편 32:5 우리에게 있는 가장 난해한 내면의 갈등 중의 하나는 우리 자신이 알려지기를 원하면서 이와는 대조적으로 알려질까 두려워하는 것입니다. 하나님의 형상으로 지음을 받은 우리는 이미 하나님과 여러 사람들에게 알려지도록 지어졌습니다. 그러나 우리의 타락한 본성 때문에 우리 모두에게는 다른 사람들이 알기를 원치 않는 죄와 약점들이 있습니다. 우리 삶에서 감추어두려는 단면들을 가리키기 위해 우리는 “어두운 면”이라는 문구를 사용합니다. 그리고 다른 사람들에게 그들의 가장 좋은 면을 드러내도록 북돋기 위해 “더 나은 발을 내밀라”라는 구호도 사용합니다. 우리가 알려지기를 꺼려하는 한 가지 이유는 남들로부터 거절당하거나 조롱받을지도 모른다는 두려움 때문입니다. 그러나 하나님이 우리를 아시고, 사랑하시고, 우리가 저지른 최악의 허물까지도 기꺼이 용서하신다는 사실을 우리가 알게 될 때, 하나님께 알려질까 두려워하는 마음은 사라지기 시작합니다. 그리고 죄의 고백과 용서가 지니는 역동적인 상호관계를 이해하는 믿음의 공동체를 만나게 되면, 우리는 자신의 죄를 서로 거리낌 없이 자백할 수 있게 됩니다(약 5:16). 믿음의 삶이란 단지 우리의 좋은 면만 보여주는 것이 아닙니다. 그것은 우리의 어두운 면도 하나님과 다른 사람들에게 자백하여 그리스도의 빛 앞에 드러내는 것입니다. 그렇게 함으로써 우리는 고침을 받게 되고 용서의 자유 속에서 살 수 있게 됩니다.

James 5:16-20

[16] Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
[17] Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
[18] And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
[19] Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,
[20] let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

주님, 나의 죄를, 내 깊은 속에 숨어 있는

[16] 그러므로 너희 죄를 서로 고백하며 병이 낫기를 위하여 서로 기도하라 의인의 간구는 역사하는 힘이 큼이니라
[17] 엘리야는 우리와 성정이 같은 사람이로되 그가 비가 오지 않기를 간절히 기도한즉 삼 년 육 개월 동안 땅에 비가 오지 아니하고
[18] 다시 기도하니 하늘이 비를 주고 땅이 열매를 맺었느니라
[19] 내 형제들아 너희 중에 미혹되어 진리를 떠난 자를 누가 돌아서게 하면
[20] 너희가 알 것은 죄인을 미혹된 길에서 돌아서게 하는 자가 그의 영혼을 사망에서 구원할 것이며 허다한 죄를 덮을 것임이라
