Step Up!		앞으로 나아가라!
[ 2 Chronicles 15:1 - 15:12 ] - hymn 353 [Asa] took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land ... ; and he restored the altar of the Lord. — 2 Chronicles 15:8 When a woodchuck started eating our garage (well, just the trim), I bought a live trap with plans to transplant the little guy to a park. I baited it with an assortment of goodies and opened the trap door. The next morning, I was excited to see a little critter in my trap—until I noticed that it was no woodchuck. I had snared a skunk. I went online to see how to untrap the skunk without having it ... well, you know. The solutions were extremely cautious in their descriptions of how to protect yourself while releasing the animal. Plastic bags. Gloves. Tarps. Blankets. Goggles. The task looked daunting and dangerous. Then my son-in-law Ewing stepped up. He simply walked over to the trap, opened the door, and coaxed our striped friend on its way with a few sprays from the garden hose. Sometimes our fears can lead to inaction. We worry so much about protecting ourselves that we fail to simply step up. When King Asa learned that the Lord wanted him to remove the idols from Israel, he ¡°took courage¡±(2 Chron.15:8). He could have had a rebellion on his hands for doing this. But he stepped up, and as a result the nation rejoiced (v.15). Facing a spiritual challenge? The Lord will help you step up with courage and trust Him for the outcome. — Dave Branon		[ 역대하 15:1 - 15:12 ] - 찬송가 353 장 [아사가] 마음을 강하게 하여 가증한 물건들을…온 땅에서 없애고…여호와의 제단을 재건하고 - 역대하 15:8 한번은 마모트가 집의 차고를 (실은, 차고의 모서리 장식을) 먹어치우기 시작했습니다. 그래서 나는 그 작은 녀석을 잡아서 공원으로 보내려고 덫을 샀습니다. 나는 그 안에 맛있는 것들로 구색을 갖춰놓고 덫의 문을 열어두었습니다. 다음날 아침 나는 덫 안에 작은 마모트가 잡혀있을 것을 기대했지만 그 안에 들어있는 것은 마모트가 아니었습니다. 스컹크를 잡은 것이었습니다. 나는 인터넷을 사용하여 그놈을 건드리지 않고 어떻게 내보내는지를 알아보았습니다. 아, 왜 그런지는 다 아시겠지요. 거기에 나와 있는 해결책에는 동물을 덫에서 내보낼 때 자신을 보호하기 위해 상당히 조심해야 한다고 쓰여 있었습니다. 비닐봉지와 장갑, 덮개, 담요, 그리고 보안경이 필요했습니다. 이 일은 정말 쉽지 않고 위험해 보였습니다. 그런데 그때 나의 사위 유잉이 성큼 나서더니 그냥 그 덫 앞으로 가서 문을 열고는 정원 호스로 물을 몇 번 뿌려서 줄무늬 진 녀석을 쫓아내 보냈습니다. 때때로 우리는 두려움 때문에 꼼짝 못할 수도 있습니다. 우리는 자신을 보호하는데 너무 염려하느라 단순히 앞으로 나서지를 못합니다. 아사왕은 하나님이 이스라엘의 모든 우상들을 없애기를 원하신다는 것을 알고는 “마음을 강하게 했습니다”(대하 15:8). 그 일을 행하면 반역이 일어날 수도 있었지만, 그는 앞으로 나아갔고 그 결과 온 나라가 기뻐했습니다(15절). 영적인 도전에 직면해 있습니까? 주님은 당신이 용기를 가지고 앞으로 나아가고 그 결과에 대해 주님을 신뢰할 수 있도록 도와주실 것입니다.

2 Chronicles 15:1-12

[1] Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded.
[2] And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: "Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
[3] "For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law;
[4] "but when in their trouble they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them.
[5] "And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands.
[6] "So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity.
[7] "But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!"
[8] And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the LORD that was before the vestibule of the LORD.
[9] Then he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who dwelt with them from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon, for they came over to him in great numbers from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
[10] So they gathered together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
[11] And they offered to the LORD at that time seven hundred bulls and seven thousand sheep from the spoil they had brought.
[12] Then they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

앞길이 끝이 안 보이고
거칠고 황량하여도
힘 있거나 지쳤거나, 용감하게 발을 내딛어
하나님을 신뢰하며 옳은 일을 행하라

용기란 기도를 막 끝낸 두려움과 같아서
그 기도로 인해 두려움이 용기로 변화된다.

역대하 15:1-12

[1] 하나님의 영이 오뎃의 아들 아사랴에게 임하시매
[2] 그가 나가서 아사를 맞아 이르되 아사와 및 유다와 베냐민의 무리들아 내 말을 들으라 너희가 여호와와 함께 하면 여호와께서 너희와 함께 하실지라 너희가 만일 그를 찾으면 그가 너희와 만나게 되시려니와 너희가 만일 그를 버리면 그도 너희를 버리시리라
[3] 이스라엘에는 참 신이 없고 가르치는 제사장도 없고 율법도 없은 지가 오래 되었으나
[4] 그들이 그 환난 때에 이스라엘 하나님 여호와께로 돌아가서 찾으매 그가 그들과 만나게 되셨나니
[5] 그 때에 온 땅의 모든 주민이 크게 요란하여 사람의 출입이 평안하지 못하며
[6] 이 나라와 저 나라가 서로 치고 이 성읍이 저 성읍과 또한 그러하여 피차 상한 바 되었나니 이는 하나님이 여러 가지 고난으로 요란하게 하셨음이라
[7] 그런즉 너희는 강하게 하라 너희의 손이 약하지 않게 하라 너희 행위에는 상급이 있음이라 하니라
[8] 아사가 이 말 곧 선지자 오뎃의 예언을 듣고 마음을 강하게 하여 가증한 물건들을 유다와 베냐민 온 땅에서 없애고 또 에브라임 산지에서 빼앗은 성읍들에서도 없애고 또 여호와의 낭실 앞에 있는 여호와의 제단을 재건하고
[9] 또 유다와 베냐민의 무리를 모으고 에브라임과 므낫세와 시므온 가운데에서 나와서 저희 중에 머물러 사는 자들을 모았으니 이는 이스라엘 사람들이 아사의 하나님 여호와께서 그와 함께 하심을 보고 아사에게로 돌아오는 자가 많았음이더라
[10] 아사 왕 제십오년 셋째 달에 그들이 예루살렘에 모이고
[11] 그 날에 노략하여 온 물건 중에서 소 칠백 마리와 양 칠천 마리로 여호와께 제사를 지내고
[12] 또 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하여 조상들의 하나님 여호와를 찾기로 언약하고
