Is There Hope?		희망이 있는가?
[ Matthew 28:1 - 28:10 ] - hymn 161 ¡°He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.¡± — Matthew 28:6 I sat quietly at the graveside of my father, waiting for the private family burial of my mother to begin. The funeral director carried the urn that held her ashes. My heart felt numb and my head was in a fog. How can I handle losing them both within just 3 months? In my grief I felt loss and loneliness and a little hopeless facing a future without them. Then the pastor read about another graveside. On the first day of the week, early in the morning, women went to Jesus¡¯ tomb, carrying spices for His body (Matt.28:1; Luke 24:1). There they were startled to find an open and empty tomb—and an angel. ¡°Do not be afraid,¡± he said to them (Matt.28:5). They didn¡¯t need to be afraid of the empty tomb or of the angel, because he had good news for them. Hope stirred when I heard the next words: ¡°He is not here; for He is risen, as He said¡± (v.6). Because Jesus had come back to life, death had been conquered! Jesus reminded His followers just a few days before His death: ¡°Because I live, you will live also¡±(John 14:19). Even though we grieve at the loss of our loved ones, we find hope through the resurrection of Jesus and His promise that there is life after death. — Anne Cetas		[ 마태복음 28:1 - 28:10 ] - 찬송가 161 장 그가 여기 계시지 않고 그가 말씀하시던 대로 살아나셨느니라 - 마태복음 28:6 나는 아버지의 무덤가에 조용히 앉아 우리 가족끼리 하는 어머니의 하관식이 시작되기를 기다리고 있었습니다. 장의사가 어머니의 유골단지를 가져왔고, 나는 심장이 멎는 것 같았고 아무런 생각도 들지 않았습니다. 3개월 만에 부모님 두 분을 모두 잃었으니 이를 어찌 감당하나요? 슬픔에 빠진 나는 상실감과 외로움, 그리고 부모님 없이 앞날을 맞아야 한다는데 절망을 느꼈습니다. 그때 목사님이 다른 무덤에 대한 이야기를 읽었습니다. 안식 후 첫날 이른 아침에 여자들이 주님의 몸을 위해 향료를 가지고 무덤에 갔을 때(마 28:1; 눅 24:1), 열려있는 빈 무덤과 천사를 보고는 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 천사는 그들에게 “무서워하지 말라”라고 말했습니다(마 28:5). 천사가 그들을 위한 좋은 소식을 가지고 있었기에 그들은 빈 무덤이나 천사를 무서워할 필요가 없었습니다. 나는 “그가 여기 계시지 않고 그가 말씀하시던 대로 살아나셨느니라”(6절)라고 이어지는 말씀을 듣고 희망이 솟구쳤습니다. 왜냐하면 예수님이 다시 살아나시고 죽음을 정복하셨기 때문입니다! 예수님은 돌아가시기 바로 며칠 전에 제자들에게 “이는 내가 살아 있고 너희도 살아 있겠음이라”(요 14:19)라고 상기시켜 주셨습니다. 비록 우리가 사랑하는 사람들을 잃고 슬픔에 잠길지라도, 우리는 예수님의 부활과 죽음 이후에 삶이 있다는 그분의 약속을 통해 희망을 찾을 수 있습니다.

Thank You, Lord, for comfort and hope.
What would we do without You? Your death
and resurrection provide all we need for
this life and the next.

Because He lives, we live.

Matthew 28:1-10

[1] Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
[2] And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
[3] His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
[4] And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
[5] But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
[6] "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
[7] "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."
[8] So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
[9] And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
[10] Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

위로와 희망을 주시는 주님, 감사합니다.
우리가 주님 없이 무엇을 할 수 있을까요?
주님의 죽음과 부활은 우리의 이생과 다음 생에
필요한 모든 것을 제공해줍니다.

주님이 살아 계심으로 우리도 산다.

마태복음 28:1-10

[1] 안식일이 다 지나고 안식 후 첫날이 되려는 새벽에 막달라 마리아와 다른 마리아가 무덤을 보려고 갔더니
[2] 큰 지진이 나며 주의 천사가 하늘로부터 내려와 돌을 굴려 내고 그 위에 앉았는데
[3] 그 형상이 번개 같고 그 옷은 눈 같이 희거늘
[4] 지키던 자들이 그를 무서워하여 떨며 죽은 사람과 같이 되었더라
[5] 천사가 여자들에게 말하여 이르되 너희는 무서워하지 말라 십자가에 못 박히신 예수를 너희가 찾는 줄을 내가 아노라
[6] 그가 여기 계시지 않고 그가 말씀 하시던 대로 살아나셨느니라 와서 그가 누우셨던 곳을 보라
[7] 또 빨리 가서 그의 제자들에게 이르되 그가 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나셨고 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가시나니 거기서 너희가 뵈오리라 하라 보라 내가 너희에게 일렀느니라 하거늘
[8] 그 여자들이 무서움과 큰 기쁨으로 빨리 무덤을 떠나 제자들에게 알리려고 달음질할새
[9] 예수께서 그들을 만나 이르시되 평안하냐 하시거늘 여자들이 나아가 그 발을 붙잡고 경배하니
[10] 이에 예수께서 이르시되 무서워하지 말라 가서 내 형제들에게 갈릴리로 가라 하라 거기서 나를 보리라 하시니라
