[ Hebrews 4:14 - 4:16 ] - hymn 363 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. — Hebrews 4:16 Mont Saint-Michel is a tidal island located about a half-mile off the coast of Normandy, France. For centuries it has been the site of an abbey and monastery that has attracted religious pilgrims. Until the construction of a causeway, it was notorious for its dangerous access that resulted in the death of some pilgrims. At low tide it is encompassed by sand banks, and at high tide it is surrounded by water. Accessing the island was a cause for fear. Access to God for Old Testament Jews was also a cause for fear. When God thundered on Mt. Sinai, the people feared approaching Him (Ex.19:10-16). And when access to God was granted through the high priest, specific instructions had to be followed (Lev.16:1-34). Accidentally touching the ark of the covenant, which represented the holy presence of God, would result in death (see 2 Sam.6:7-8). But because of Jesus¡¯ death and resurrection, we can now approach God without fear. God¡¯s penalty for sin has been satisfied, and we are invited into God¡¯s presence: ¡°Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace¡±(Heb.4:16). Because of Jesus we can come to God through prayer anywhere, anytime. — Dennis Fisher		[ 히브리서 4:14 - 4:16 ] - 찬송가 363 장 그러므로 우리가 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라 - 히브리서 4:16 몽 셍 미셀은 프랑스 노르망디 해안에서 약 800미터 떨어진, 바닷물이 빠졌을 때 걸어 들어갈 수 있는 섬입니다. 이 섬에는 큰 사원과 수도원이 있어서 수백 년 동안 많은 순례자들을 끌어들였습니다. 그러나 둑길이 만들어지기 전까지는, 여러 명의 순례자들을 죽음으로 몰아간 위험한 접근로 때문에 악명이 높았습니다. 그 접근로는 썰물 때는 모래 언덕이 되다가 밀물 때는 물에 잠깁니다. 섬으로 가는 것이 두려울 수밖에 없었습니다. 구약시대의 유대인들에게 하나님께 나아가는 것 역시 두려울 수밖에 없었습니다. 하나님이 시내산에서 천둥을 울리셨을 때, 백성들은 하나님께 나아가기를 두려워했습니다(출 19:10-16). 그리고 대제사장을 통하여 하나님께 나아가는 것이 허락되었을 때에는 특별한 지시를 따라야만 했습니다(레 16:1-34). 하나님의 영광스러운 임재를 나타내는 언약궤를 실수로 만졌을 경우 죽음을 맞기도 했습니다(삼하 6:7-8 참조). 그러나 예수님의 죽음과 부활로 인해 우리는 지금 두려움 없이 하나님께 나아갈 수 있습니다. 하나님이 요구하시는 죄의 값이 만족스럽게 지불되었고, 우리는 하나님 앞으로 초대받았습니다. “그러므로 우리는 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라”(히 4:16). 예수님 때문에 우리는 언제 어디서든 기도를 통하여 하나님께 나아갈 수 있습니다.

[14] Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
[15] For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
[16] Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

[15] 우리에게 있는 대제사장은 우리의 연약함을 동정하지 못하실 이가 아니요 모든 일에 우리와 똑같이 시험을 받으신 이로되 죄는 없으시니라
[16] 그러므로 우리는 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라
