[ Isaiah 17:7 - 17:11 ] - hymn 446 Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, ... the harvest will be a heap of ruins. — Isaiah 17:10–11 Spring had just turned into summer and crops were beginning to produce fruit as our train rolled across the fertile landscape of West Michigan¡¯s shoreline. Strawberries had ripened, and people were kneeling in the morning dew to pick the sweet fruit. Blueberry bushes were soaking up sunshine from the sky and nutrients from the earth. After passing field after field of ripening fruit, we came to a rusty pile of abandoned metal. The harsh image of orange scrap metal poking out of the earth was a sharp contrast to the soft greens of growing crops. The metal produces nothing. Fruit, on the other hand, grows, ripens, and nourishes hungry humans. The contrast between the fruit and the metal reminds me of God¡¯s prophecies against ancient cities like Damascus (Isa.17:1,11). He says, ¡°Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, ... the harvest will be a heap of ruins¡±(Isa.17:10-11). This prophecy serves as a contemporary warning about the danger and futility of thinking we can produce anything on our own. Apart from God, the work of our hands will become a pile of ruins. But when we join with God in the work of His hands, God multiplies our effort and provides spiritual nourishment for many. — Julie Ackerman Link		[ 이사야 17:7 - 17:11 ] - 찬송가 446 장 이는 네가 네 구원의 하나님을 잊어버리며…마음에 두지 아니한 까닭이라…농작물이 없어지리라 - 이사야 17:10-11 우리가 탄 기차가 미시간 주 서쪽 호숫가의 비옥한 풍경을 가로질러 갈 때, 계절은 막 봄을 지나 여름으로 바뀌면서 농작물들이 열매를 맺기 시작하고 있었습니다. 딸기가 영글어서 사람들이 아침이슬을 맞으며 무릎을 꿇고 맛있는 딸기를 따고 있었고, 블루베리 관목들도 하늘로부터 햇빛과 땅으로부터 영양분을 잔뜩 빨아들이고 있었습니다. 익은 과실들로 가득한 들판을 계속 지나간 후 우리는 녹슬어 내버려진 고철 한 무더기를 지나게 되었습니다. 땅으로 삐죽 나와 있는 누런색 고철더미의 황량한 모습은 부드러운 녹색의 농작물들과는 너무나 뚜렷한 대조를 이루었습니다. 고철더미는 아무것도 생산하지 못하지만, 과일은 자라서 익어 배고픈 사람들에게 영양분을 공급합니다. 과일과 고철더미의 대조적인 모습은 내게 다메섹과 같은 고대 도시들에 대한 하나님의 예언을 생각나게 해줍니다(사 17:1,11). 선지자는 “이는 네가 네 구원의 하나님을 잊어버린…까닭이라…농작물이 없어지리라”(사 17:10-11)라고 말합니다. 이 예언은 그 당시에, 우리가 자신의 힘으로 무엇이든지 만들어낼 수 있다는 위험하고 헛된 생각에 경각심을 불러일으켜 주었습니다. 하나님을 떠나 우리 손으로 만든 것들은 폐허더미가 될 것입니다. 그러나 하나님이 하시는 일에 우리가 동참할 때, 하나님은 우리가 노력한 것보다 몇 배로 많은 사람들에게 영적인 영양분을 제공해주십니다.

Lord, I want to be a part of what You are
doing in Your world. Apart from You, my
work is nothing. Lead me, fill me, use
me. Nourish others through me.

¡°Without Me you can do nothing.¡± — Jesus (John 15:5)

Isaiah 17:7-11

[7] In that day a man will look to his Maker, And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.
[8] He will not look to the altars, The work of his hands; He will not respect what his fingers have made, Nor the wooden images nor the incense altars.
[9] In that day his strong cities will be as a forsaken bough And an uppermost branch, Which they left because of the children of Israel; And there will be desolation.
[10] Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, And have not been mindful of the Rock of your stronghold, Therefore you will plant pleasant plants And set out foreign seedlings;
[11] In the day you will make your plant to grow, And in the morning you will make your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap of ruins In the day of grief and desperate sorrow.

주님, 주님의 세계에서 주님이 하시는 일에 제가 한 부분이
되고 싶습니다. 주님을 떠나서는 나의 일은 아무것도 아닙니다.
저를 인도하시고, 채워주시고, 사용하여 주옵소서.
저를 통하여 다른 사람들을 풍성하게 하옵소서.

“나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무것도 할 수 없음이라”
-예수님(요한복음 15:5)

이사야 17:7-11

[7] 그 날에 사람이 자기를 지으신 이를 바라보겠으며 그의 눈이 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이를 뵙겠고
[8] 자기 손으로 만든 제단을 바라보지 아니하며 자기 손가락으로 지은 아세라나 태양상을 보지 아니할 것이며
[9] 그 날에 그 견고한 성읍들이 옛적에 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 버린 바 된 수풀 속의 처소와 작은 산 꼭대기의 처소 같아서 황폐하리니
[10] 이는 네가 네 구원의 하나님을 잊어버리며 네 능력의 반석을 마음에 두지 아니한 까닭이라 그러므로 네가 기뻐하는 나무를 심으며 이방의 나무 가지도 이종하는도다
[11] 네가 심는 날에 울타리를 두르고 아침에 네 씨가 잘 발육하도록 하였으나 근심과 심한 슬픔의 날에 농작물이 없어지리라
