Feeling Chained?		묶여 있다고 느끼세요?
[ Psalms 16:1 - 16:11 ] - hymn 401 I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. — Philippians 4:11 Boethius lived in sixth-century Italy and served the royal court as a highly skilled politician. Unfortunately, he fell into disfavor with the king. He was accused of treason and imprisoned. While awaiting execution, he asked for writing materials so he could compose his reflections. Later, these became an enduring spiritual classic on consolation. As Boethius sat in prison, pondering his bleak prospects, his faith in Christ infused his perspective: ¡°Nothing is miserable but what is thought so, and contrariwise, every estate is happy if he that bears it be content.¡± He understood that our view of changing circumstances and contentment is a personal choice. The apostle Paul reinforced the idea that the way we view our circumstances is more important than the circumstances themselves. While he too was in prison, he wrote: ¡°I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content¡±(Phil.4:11). Both men could be content because they drew their ultimate satisfaction from God, who never changes. Do you feel chained to difficult circumstances? God can give you contentment. Lasting satisfaction can be found only with Him, for in His ¡°presence is fullness of joy; at [His] right hand are pleasures forevermore¡±(Ps.16:11). — Dennis Fisher		[ 시편 16:1 - 16:11 ] - 찬송가 401 장 어떠한 형편에든지 나는 자족하기를 배웠노니 - 빌립보서 4:11 6세기 이탈리아에서 살았던 보에티우스는 아주 능숙한 정치가로 궁정에서 봉직했습니다. 하지만 불행히도 왕의 눈 밖에 난 그는 반역 혐의로 감옥에 갇히게 되었습니다. 그는 사형집행을 기다리는 중 필기도구를 청하여 자신의 회상을 바탕으로 곡을 썼습니다. 그 곡들은 나중에 위로를 주는 영적인 고전성가로 오래 남게 되었습니다. 보에티우스가 감옥에서 자신의 절망적인 모습을 곰곰이 생각하고 앉아있을 때, 그리스도에 대한 믿음이 그로 하여금 “비참하다고 생각하지 않는 한 비참할 리가 없으며, 오히려 있는 그대로에 만족할 수 있다면 어떤 상황에서도 행복하다.”라는 인식을 갖게 해주었습니다. 그는 상황의 변화에 대한 견해와 만족여부는 개인적인 선택임을 깨달았던 것입니다. 바울사도 역시 우리가 처한 상황보다도 우리가 그 상황을 어떻게 보느냐가 더 중요하다고 강조했습니다. 그 역시 감옥에 갇혀 있을 때, “어떠한 형편에든지 나는 자족하기를 배웠노니”(빌 4:11)라고 썼습니다. 위 두 사람은 결코 변치 않으시는 하나님으로부터 궁극적인 만족을 이끌어내었기 때문에 자족할 수 있었습니다. 어려운 상황에 갇혀 있다고 느끼십니까? 하나님은 당신에게 만족을 주실 수 있습니다. 그리고 지속적인 만족은 오직 하나님과 함께 할 때만 찾을 수 있습니다. 왜냐하면 “주의 앞에는 충만한 기쁨이 있고 주의 오른쪽에는 영원한 즐거움이 있기”(시 16:11) 때문입니다.

Lord, lead me today as You see best. Use the gifts
You¡¯ve given me to encourage others on
their journey. Help me not to compare
myself with others but to be content.

When all you have is God, you have all you need.

Psalm 16:1-11

[2] O my soul, you have said to the LORD, "You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You."
[3] As for the saints who are on the earth, "They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight."
[4] Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.
[5] O LORD,You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
[6] The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.
[7] I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
[8] I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
[9] Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.
[10] For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
[11] You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

주님, 주님 보시기에 가장 최선의 길로 저를 인도해주소서.
제게 주신 은사들을 다른 사람들의 삶을 격려하는 일에
사용해주시고, 저로 하여금 다른 사람들과 비교하지 않고
만족하도록 도와주소서.

당신에게 오직 하나님밖에 없다면,
당신은 필요한 모든 것을 가진 것이다.

시편 16:1-11

[1] [다윗의 믹담] 하나님이여 나를 지켜 주소서 내가 주께 피하나이다
[2] 내가 여호와께 아뢰되 주는 나의 주님이시오니 주 밖에는 나의 복이 없다 하였나이다
[3] 땅에 있는 성도들은 존귀한 자들이니 나의 모든 즐거움이 그들에게 있도다
[4] 다른 신에게 예물을 드리는 자는 괴로움이 더할 것이라 나는 그들이 드리는 피의 전제를 드리지 아니하며 내 입술로 그 이름도 부르지 아니하리로다
[5] 여호와는 나의 산업과 나의 잔의 소득이시니 나의 분깃을 지키시나이다
[6] 내게 줄로 재어 준 구역은 아름다운 곳에 있음이여 나의 기업이 실로 아름답도다
[7] 나를 훈계하신 여호와를 송축할지라 밤마다 내 양심이 나를 교훈하도다
[8] 내가 여호와를 항상 내 앞에 모심이여 그가 나의 오른쪽에 계시므로 내가 흔들리지 아니하리로다
[9] 이러므로 나의 마음이 기쁘고 나의 영도 즐거워하며 내 육체도 안전히 살리니
[10] 이는 주께서 내 영혼을 스올에 버리지 아니하시며 주의 거룩한 자를 멸망시키지 않으실 것임이니이다
[11] 주께서 생명의 길을 내게 보이시리니 주의 앞에는 충만한 기쁨이 있고 주의 오른쪽에는 영원한 즐거움이 있나이다
