Paranoia In Reverse		편집증의 반대
[ 1 John 4:1 - 4:6 ] - hymn 292 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. — 1 John 4:18 I remember watching television news reports in 1991 as the nonviolent revolution took place in the streets of Moscow. Russians who had grown up in totalitarianism suddenly declared, ¡°We will act as if we are free,¡± taking to the streets and staring down tanks. The contrast between the faces of the leaders inside and the masses outside showed who was really afraid, and who was really free. Watching the newsreels from Red Square on Finnish television, I came up with a new definition of faith: paranoia in reverse. A truly paranoid person organizes his or her life around a common perspective of fear. Anything that happens feeds that fear. Faith works in reverse. A faithful person organizes his or her life around a common perspective of trust, not fear. Despite the apparent chaos of the present moment, God does reign. Regardless of how I may feel, I truly matter to a God of love. What could happen if we in God¡¯s kingdom truly acted as if the words of the apostle John were literally true: ¡°He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world¡±(1 John 4:4). What if we really started living as if the most-repeated prayer in Christendom has actually been answered—that God¡¯s will be done on earth as it is in heaven? — Philip Yancey		[ 요한1서 4:1 - 4:6 ] - 찬송가 292 장 사랑 안에 두려움이 없고 온전한 사랑이 두려움을 내쫓나니 두려움에는 형벌이 있음이라 - 요한1서 4:18 1991년 모스크바 거리에서 비폭력혁명이 일어났을 때의 텔레비전 뉴스보도가 기억납니다. 전체주의 체제에서 살아온 러시아인들이 별안간 “우리는 자유인인 것처럼 행동하겠다.”고 선포하고 거리를 점거하고 탱크와 마주했습니다. 안에 있는 정치지도자들과 밖에 있는 군중들의 얼굴을 대비해 보여준 화면은, 누가 진정으로 두려워하고 있으며 누가 진정으로 자유로운가를 보여주었습니다. 핀란드 텔레비전을 통해 붉은 광장으로부터의 뉴스를 보면서, 나는 믿음에 대한 정의를 새롭게 내리게 되었습니다. 편집증의 반대라고 말입니다. 실제로 편집증 환자는 두려움이라는 공통적인 관점 아래 삶을 꾸려나갑니다. 일어나는 모든 것들이 두려움을 불러일으키는 것입니다. 그러나 믿음은 반대로 작동합니다. 신앙인은 두려움이 아닌 믿음이라는 공통적인 관점 아래 삶을 꾸려나갑니다. 지금 이 순간 명백히 혼란스럽게 보일지라도 하나님이 다스리고 계십니다. 나의 느낌과는 상관없이 나는 사랑의 하나님께 매우 중요한 존재입니다. 하나님나라의 백성인 우리가 “너희 안에 계신 이가 세상에 있는 자보다 크심이라”(요일 4:4)라고 한 요한사도의 말 그대로 실제로 행한다면 어떤 일이 벌어질까요? 기독교계에서 가장 많이 사용되는 기도, “하나님의 뜻이 하늘에서 이룬 것 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다”가 실제로 응답된 것처럼 우리가 삶을 살기 시작한다면 어떻게 될까요?

Feeding your faith helps starve your fears.

1 John 4:1-6,17-19

[1] Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
[2] By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
[3] and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
[4] You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
[5] They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.
[6] We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

[17] Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
[18] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
[19] We love Him because He first loved us.

주님의 생각은
우리의 생각을 훨씬 뛰어넘네
주님이 온전히 역사하실 때
두려워할 필요가 없게 하시네

믿음으로 배를 채우면 두려움이 사그라진다.

요한1서 4:1-6,17-19

[1] 사랑하는 자들아 영을 다 믿지 말고 오직 영들이 하나님께 속하였나 분별하라 많은 거짓 선지자가 세상에 나왔음이라
[2] 이로써 너희가 하나님의 영을 알지니 곧 예수 그리스도께서 육체로 오신 것을 시인하는 영마다 하나님께 속한 것이요
[3] 예수를 시인하지 아니하는 영마다 하나님께 속한 것이 아니니 이것이 곧 적그리스도의 영이니라 오리라 한 말을 너희가 들었거니와 지금 벌써 세상에 있느니라
[4] 자녀들아 너희는 하나님께 속하였고 또 그들을 이기었나니 이는 너희 안에 계신 이가 세상에 있는 자보다 크심이라
[5] 그들은 세상에 속한 고로 세상에 속한 말을 하매 세상이 그들의 말을 듣느니라
[6] 우리는 하나님께 속하였으니 하나님을 아는 자는 우리의 말을 듣고 하나님께 속하지 아니한 자는 우리의 말을 듣지 아니하나니 진리의 영과 미혹의 영을 이로써 아느니라

[17] 이로써 사랑이 우리에게 온전히 이루어진 것은 우리로 심판 날에 담대함을 가지게 하려 함이니 주께서 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하니라
[18] 사랑 안에 두려움이 없고 온전한 사랑이 두려움을 내쫓나니 두려움에는 형벌이 있음이라 두려워하는 자는 사랑 안에서 온전히 이루지 못하였느니라
[19] 우리가 사랑함은 그가 먼저 우리를 사랑하셨음이라
