A Lesson In Worry		걱정이 주는 교훈
[ Psalms 3:1 - 3:8 ] - hymn 382 Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! — Psalm 3:1 My friend handed me a tall glass of water and told me to hold it. The longer I held it, the heavier it felt. Finally my hand grew tired, and I had to put the glass down. ¡°I¡¯ve learned that worry can be like holding that glass,¡± she said. ¡°The longer I worry about something, the more my fears weigh me down.¡± King David knew about fear. His whole life had been turned upside down. His son Absalom had stolen the allegiance of the nation of Israel from him and was attempting to take the throne for himself. David didn¡¯t know who was loyal to him and who was against him. His only option seemed to be to run. He said to his servants, ¡°Make haste to depart, lest [Absalom] overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us¡±(2 Sam.15:14). In a psalm that David may have written while he was fleeing for his life, he wrote: ¡°I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill¡±(Ps.3:4). In the midst of his fear, David looked to the Lord. God showed him grace and restored him to the throne. There are plenty of worries that can weigh us down. But as we release them into God¡¯s strong hands, He will help us through our trials. — Anne Cetas		[ 시편 3:1 - 3:8 ] - 찬송가 382 장 여호와여 나의 대적이 어찌 그리 많은지요 - 시편 3:1 친구가 나에게 큰 물잔을 주며 들고 있으라고 했습니다. 오랫동안 들고 있으니 무겁게 느껴졌습니다. 나중에는 힘들어서 물잔을 내려놓을 수밖에 없었습니다. 그녀는 “걱정은 마치 물잔을 들고 있는 것과 같다는 것을 알게 되었어. 내가 무엇인가를 걱정하면 할수록 두려움이 더 많이 나를 짓눌러.”라고 말했습니다. 다윗왕은 두려움을 잘 알고 있었습니다. 그의 삶은 엉망이 되어 있었습니다. 그의 아들 압살롬이 이스라엘의 충성된 자들을 빼돌려 자신이 왕이 되고자 하였습니다. 다윗은 누가 자신에게 충성하고 누가 반역하는지 알지 못했습니다. 그래서 피신하는 것 외에는 달리 선택할 길이 없어 보였습니다. 그는 신복들에게 “빨리 가자 두렵건대 그[압살롬]가 우리를 급히 따라와서 우리를 해하고 칼날로 성읍을 칠까 하노라”(삼하 15:14)라고 말했습니다. 다윗이 살려고 도망가면서 기록한 듯한 시편에서, 그는 “내가 나의 목소리로 여호와께 부르짖으니 그의 성산에서 응답하시는도다”(시 3:4)라고 기록하였습니다. 다윗은 두려움 가운데서도 여호와를 바라보았고, 하나님은 그에게 은혜를 베푸시고 왕위를 다시 회복시켜 주셨습니다. 세상에는 우리를 짓누르는 걱정거리들이 많습니다. 그러나 그것들을 하나님의 강한 손에 맡길 때, 하나님은 우리가 시련을 통과할 수 있도록 도와주실 것입니다.

Thank You, Lord, that we do not have to be
weighed down by worry. Help us to place our
concerns in Your care so that
we do not fear tomorrow.

Worry is a burden that God never meant for us to bear.

Psalm 3:1-8

[1] A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.
[2] Many are they who say of me, "There is no help for him in God." Selah
[3] But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
[4] I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
[5] I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
[6] I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.
[7] Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
[8] Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

주님, 우리가 걱정으로
짓눌리지 않게 하시니 감사합니다.
우리의 걱정을 주님께 맡겨
앞날을 두려워하지 않게 도와주소서.

하나님은 우리가 걱정이라는 짐을 짊어지기를
절대 원치 않으신다.

시편 3:1-8

[1] [다윗이 그의 아들 압살롬을 피할 때에 지은 시] 여호와여 나의 대적이 어찌 그리 많은지요 일어나 나를 치는 자가 많으니이다
[2] 많은 사람이 나를 대적하여 말하기를 그는 하나님께 구원을 받지 못한다 하나이다 (셀라)
[3] 여호와여 주는 나의 방패시요 나의 영광이시요 나의 머리를 드시는 자이시니이다
[4] 내가 나의 목소리로 여호와께 부르짖으니 그의 성산에서 응답하시는도다 (셀라)
[5] 내가 누워 자고 깨었으니 여호와께서 나를 붙드심이로다
[6] 천만인이 나를 에워싸 진 친다 하여도 나는 두려워하지 아니하리이다
[7] 여호와여 일어나소서 나의 하나님이여 나를 구원하소서 주께서 나의 모든 원수의 뺨을 치시며 악인의 이를 꺾으셨나이다
[8] 구원은 여호와께 있사오니 주의 복을 주의 백성에게 내리소서 (셀라)
