[ Revelation 22:16 - 22:21 ] - hymn 218 Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. — Revelation 22:17 In 1987, our family moved to California to take up the pastorate of a church in the Long Beach area. The day we flew into town, my secretary picked us up at the airport to take us to our house. As we pulled into traffic, the very first thing I saw was a bumper sticker that read: ¡°Welcome To California ... Now Go Home!¡± It was not exactly a warm and cheery welcome to sunny southern California! I wonder if there might be occasions in our lives when we send similar signals to people around us. Whether we are at church, in the neighborhood, or at social gatherings, are there times when we fail to make others feel welcome in our world? In Romans 12:13, Paul instructed his readers to be ¡°given to hospitality.¡± The book of Hebrews goes even further, saying, ¡°Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels¡±(13:2). By showing gracious kindness to those who come our way, we echo the Savior¡¯s invitation for salvation, which declares, ¡°Let him who hears say, ¡®Come!¡¯And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely¡±(Rev.22:17). To show someone loving hospitality just might be the first step in showing that person the way to heaven.		[ 요한계시록 22:16 - 22:21 ] - 찬송가 218 장 목마른 자도 올 것이요 또 원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를 받으라 - 요한계시록 22:17 1987년 롱비치에 있는 교회의 목사로 취임하기 위하여 우리 가족은 캘리포니아로 이주했습니다. 우리가 그곳에 도착하던 날, 비서가 우리를 공항에서 만나 차로 집까지 데려다 주었습니다. 우리를 태운 차가 길에 들어서자마자 내가 처음으로 본 것은 범퍼 스티커였는데, 거기에는 이런 말이 쓰여 있었습니다. “캘리포니아에 오신 것을 환영합니다… 자 이제 집으로 돌아가시죠!” 그것은 햇빛이 밝은 남부 캘리포니아로 온 것을 따뜻하고 기분 좋게 환대하는 게 아니었습니다! 우리 삶에서도 주변 사람들에게 이와 비슷한 신호를 보내는 경우가 있지 않을까 하는 생각을 해봅니다. 교회에서나 이웃 간에, 혹은 친교의 장소에서 상대방이 환영받고 있다는 느낌을 갖지 못하게 하는 일은 없습니까? 로마서 12장 13절에서 바울은 독자들에게 “손 대접하기를 힘쓰라”라고 하였습니다. 히브리서는 한 걸음 더 나아가서 “손님 대접하기를 잊지 말라 이로써 부지중에 천사들을 대접한 이들이 있었느니라”(13:2)라고 말합니다. 살면서 우리 곁을 스쳐가는 사람들에게 자비로운 친절을 베풂으로써, 우리는 “듣는 자도 오라 할 것이요 목마른 자도 올 것이요 또 원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를 받으라”(계22:17)라고 하시는 주님이 주시는 구원의 초대를 또다시 선포하는 것입니다. 어떤 사람을 사랑으로 환대하는 것이 그 사람에게 천국으로 가는 길을 보여주는 첫 걸음이 될 수 있습니다.

Revelation 22:16-21

[16] "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
[17] The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
[18] I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
[19] And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
[20] He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
[21] The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.

네가 필요할 때 받았던 것 같이 주라
주님이 너를 사랑하신 것 같이 사랑하라
어찌할 줄 모르는 자에게 돕는 자가 되라
너의 사명에 충실한 자가 되라

사람들이 당신을 알게 되면서,

요한계시록 22:16-21

[16] 나 예수는 교회들을 위하여 내 사자를 보내어 이것들을 너희에게 증언하게 하였노라 나는 다윗의 뿌리요 자손이니 곧 광명한 새벽 별이라 하시더라
[17] 성령과 신부가 말씀하시기를 오라 하시는도다 듣는 자도 오라 할 것이요 목마른 자도 올 것이요 또 원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를 받으라 하시더라
[18] 내가 이 두루마리의 예언의 말씀을 듣는 모든 사람에게 증언하노니 만일 누구든지 이것들 외에 더하면 하나님이 이 두루마리에 기록된 재앙들을 그에게 더하실 것이요
[19] 만일 누구든지 이 두루마리의 예언의 말씀에서 제하여 버리면 하나님이 이 두루마리에 기록된 생명나무와 및 거룩한 성에 참여함을 제하여 버리시리라
[20] 이것들을 증언하신 이가 이르시되 내가 진실로 속히 오리라 하시거늘 아멘 주 예수여 오시옵소서
[21] 주 예수의 은혜가 모든 자들에게 있을지어다 아멘
