Waiting To Cheer		응원의 기회
[ Ephesians 3:14 - 3:21 ] - hymn 302 ... to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. — Ephesians 3:19 In his very first Little League baseball game, a young player on the team I was coaching got hit in the face with a ball. He was not hurt but was understandably shaken. For the rest of the season, he was afraid of the ball. Game after game, he bravely tried, but he just couldn¡¯t seem to hit the ball. In our final game, we were hopelessly behind, with nothing to cheer about. Then that young man stepped up to take his turn. Thwack! To everyone¡¯s surprise, he hit the ball sharply! His teammates went wild; his parents and his teammates¡¯ parents cheered loudly. Even though we were still losing the game, I was jumping up and down! We all loved this kid and cheered him on. I imagine that the Lord cheers us on in our lives as well. He loves us deeply and desires that we ¡°may be able to comprehend ... what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge¡±(Eph.3:18-19). Some think of the Lord as unloving and waiting for us to slip up so He can punish us. So we have the privilege of telling them of His deep love for them. Imagine their joy when they hear about the God who loves them so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for their sin and who wants to cheer them on!		[ 에베소서 3:14 - 3:21 ] - 찬송가 302 장 지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알아…하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라 - 에베소서 3:18-19 소년야구리그 첫 경기 때 내가 감독하던 팀의 어린 선수가 얼굴에 공을 맞았습니다. 다치지는 않았지만 당연히 많이 놀랐습니다. 그는 나머지 시즌 내내 공을 두려워하였습니다. 경기 때마다 용감하게 시도해봤지만, 도무지 공을 쳐낼 수 있을 것 같아 보이지 않았습니다. 마지막 시합에서 우리는 희망을 가질 수 없을 정도로 뒤지고 있었기에 응원꺼리가 전혀 없었습니다. 그런데 그 어린 선수가 자기 차례가 되어 나왔습니다. 딱! 놀랍게도 그가 공을 정확히 쳤습니다! 팀원들이 열광했고, 그 선수의 부모와 팀원의 부모들도 다 크게 환호했습니다. 우리는 여전히 경기에 지고 있었지만 나는 기뻐서 펄쩍 펄쩍 뛰었습니다! 모두 그 아이를 격려하며 그를 응원해주었습니다. 나는 주님도 우리 삶 속에서 우리를 응원하고 계신다고 생각합니다. 주님은 우리를 한없이 사랑하여, 우리가 “지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알고 그 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠함을 깨달아”(엡 3:18-19) 알기를 바라십니다. 어떤 사람들은 하나님께서 우리가 실수할 때를 기다리시다가 매정하게 벌주시는 분이라고 생각합니다. 그래서 우리는 이런 사람들에게 하나님의 깊은 사랑을 말해줘야 할 특권이 있습니다. 그들을 너무 사랑하시는 하나님이 그분의 독생자를 보내셔서 그들의 죄를 대신하여 십자가에서 죽게 하셨고, 지금도 그들을 응원하기를 원하고 계신다는 이 이야기를 들을 때 그들이 얼마나 기뻐할지 상상해보십시오.

Help us, heavenly Father, to see the manyways You love and encourage us; then helpus to love and encourage those aroundus so that they can see You in us.

The nail-pierced hands of Jesus reveal the love-filled heart of God.

Ephesians 3:14-21

[14] For this reason I kneel before the Father,
[15] from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
[16] I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
[17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
[18] may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
[19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
[20] Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
[21] to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

하나님 아버지, 당신이 우리를 사랑하시고 격려하시는
다양한 모습을 볼 수 있게 도와주소서. 그런 후 주위 사람들이
우리 속에 계시는 하나님을 볼 수 있도록
우리가 그들을 사랑하고 격려할 수 있게 도와주소서.

못 박힌 예수님의 손은 사랑이 가득한
하나님의 마음을 드러내 보여준다.

에베소서 3:14-21

[14] 이러므로 내가 하늘과 땅에 있는 각 족속에게
[15] 이름을 주신 아버지 앞에 무릎을 꿇고 비노니
[16] 그의 영광의 풍성함을 따라 그의 성령으로 말미암아 너희 속사람을 능력으로 강건하게 하시오며
[17] 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도께서 너희 마음에 계시게 하시옵고 너희가 사랑 가운데서 뿌리가 박히고 터가 굳어져서
[18] 능히 모든 성도와 함께 지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알고
[19] 그 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠함을 깨달아 하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라
[20] 우리 가운데서 역사하시는 능력대로 우리가 구하거나 생각하는 모든 것에 더 넘치도록 능히 하실 이에게
[21] 교회 안에서와 그리스도 예수 안에서 영광이 대대로 영원무궁하기를 원하노라 아멘
