¡°Don¡¯t Worry, Dad!¡±		“아빠, 걱정하지 마세요!”
[ Exodus 14:19 - 14:25 ] - hymn 58 The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. — Isaiah 58:8 Last summer, my husband and I hosted a concert and fundraiser for childhood cancer research. We planned to have the event in our backyard, but weather forecasts were dismal. A few hours before the event, we began calling our 100+ guests to inform them of a change in venue. As our friends and family began feverishly toting food, decorations, and equipment from our house to our church gym, our daughter Rosie took a moment to give her dad a hug and remind him on behalf of the kids and grandkids that they were there for him: ¡°Don¡¯t worry, Dad! We¡¯ve got your back.¡± Hearing that expression is comforting because it reminds us that we¡¯re not on our own. Someone is saying, ¡°I¡¯m here. I¡¯ll take care of whatever you might miss. I¡¯ll be a second set of eyes and hands for you.¡± As the Israelites were escaping a life of slavery, Pharaoh sent his army of chariots and horsemen to give chase(Ex.14:17). But ¡°the Angel of God ... and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them¡±(v.19). In this way, God hid and protected them throughout the night. The next day, He parted the Red Sea so they could safely cross over. God tells us ¡°Don¡¯t worry¡± as well. ¡°If God is for us, who can be against us?¡±(Rom.8:31).		[ 출애굽기 14:19 - 14:25 ] - 찬송가 58 장 여호와의 영광이 네 뒤에 호위하리니 - 이사야 58:8 지난 여름 나는 남편과 함께 소아암 연구를 돕기 위한 음악회와 모금행사를 주최하였습니다. 우리 집 뒤뜰에서 이 행사를 가지려고 했지만 일기예보가 좋지 않았습니다. 그래서 시작하기 몇 시간 전에 백 명이 넘는 손님들에게 장소가 변경되었음을 전화로 알려주었습니다. 친구들과 가족들이 집에서 교회체육관으로 음식과 장식물, 그리고 장비들을 열심히 나르고 있을 때, 우리 딸 로지가 아빠를 꼭 껴안고는 그 자리에서 같이 돕고 있던 자녀들과 손주들을 대신하여 이렇게 말했습니다. “아빠, 걱정하지 마세요! 우리가 뒤에 있어요.” 그런 말을 듣게 되면 우리가 혼자가 아니라는 사실을 알게 되어 위로가 됩니다. 어떤 분이 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “내가 여기 있어. 네가 혹 무엇을 실수하더라도 걱정하지 마. 내가 네 눈과 손이 되어 줄께.” 이스라엘 백성들이 노예생활에서 도망치자, 바로는 그의 전차병과 기마병들을 보내어 그들의 뒤를 쫓았습니다(출 14:17). 그러나 “진 앞에 가던 하나님의 사자가 그들의 뒤로 옮겨 가매 구름 기둥도 앞에서 그 뒤로 옮겨”(19절)졌습니다. 하나님은 그렇게 밤새도록 그들을 숨기시고 보호해주셨습니다. 그 다음날 하나님이 홍해를 갈라지게 하심으로 그들은 안전하게 건너갈 수가 있었습니다. 하나님도 우리에게 “걱정하지 마라.”라고 말씀하십니다. “만일 하나님이 우리를 위하시면 누가 우리를 대적하리요”(롬 8:31)라고 성경은 말해줍니다.

Exodus 14:19-25

[19] Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel's army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them,
[20] coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.
[21] Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,
[22] and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
[23] The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea.
[24] During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.
[25] He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, "Let's get away from the Israelites! The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt."

깊은 바다를 붙드시는 하나님의 손은
나의 작은 일들도 붙들어주시며
우주를 운행하시는 주님의 손은
내 모든 근심도 다루실 수 있다네

우리의 일은 근심을 다 버리는 것이고,
하나님의 일은 그것들을 다 해결하시는 것이다!

출애굽기 14:19-25

[19] 이스라엘 진 앞에 가던 하나님의 사자가 그들의 뒤로 옮겨 가매 구름 기둥도 앞에서 그 뒤로 옮겨
[20] 애굽 진과 이스라엘 진 사이에 이르러 서니 저쪽에는 구름과 흑암이 있고 이쪽에는 밤이 밝으므로 밤새도록 저쪽이 이쪽에 가까이 못하였더라
[21] 모세가 바다 위로 손을 내밀매 여호와께서 큰 동풍이 밤새도록 바닷물을 물러가게 하시니 물이 갈라져 바다가 마른 땅이 된지라
[22] 이스라엘 자손이 바다 가운데를 육지로 걸어가고 물은 그들의 좌우에 벽이 되니
[23] 애굽 사람들과 바로의 말들, 병거들과 그 마병들이 다 그들의 뒤를 추격하여 바다 가운데로 들어오는지라
[24] 새벽에 여호와께서 불과 구름 기둥 가운데서 애굽 군대를 보시고 애굽 군대를 어지럽게 하시며
[25] 그들의 병거 바퀴를 벗겨서 달리기가 어렵게 하시니 애굽 사람들이 이르되 이스라엘 앞에서 우리가 도망하자 여호와가 그들을 위하여 싸워 애굽 사람들을 치는도다
