Lessons from a fence		담장의 교훈
[ Matthew 7:21 - 7:29 ] - hymn 204 Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. - Matthew 7:24 When a section of fence around our house blew down in a howling March wind, my first reaction was to blame the man who built it for me only a few months before. On further reflection, I knew the fault was mine. As the fence was nearing completion, I told him there was no need to re-place four existing posts from the previous fence with new ones set in concrete. ¡°Just attach the new fence to the old posts,¡± I said. ¡°It will be fine.¡± It was-until the winds came. Jesus told a powerful story to emphasize the importance of building our lives on the solid foundation of obeying His Word. ¡°Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand¡±(Matt.7:24-26). When the wind and rain beat against the houses, only the one built on the rock remained standing. Hearing God¡¯s Word is essential, but doing what He says is the key to weathering the storms of life. It¡¯s never too late to start building on the Rock. - David McCasland		[ 마태복음 7:21 - 7:29 ] - 찬송가 204 장 그러므로 누구든지 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하는 자는 그 집을 반석 위에 지은 지혜로운 사람 같으리니 - 마태복음 7:24 3월에 엄청나게 센 바람으로 우리 집을 둘러싼 담장 한 부분이 무너졌을 때, 제일 먼저 나는 불과 몇 달 전에 담장을 시공한 사람을 원망하였습니다. 하지만 좀 더 생각해보니 그것이 내 잘못임을 알게 되었습니다. 담장이 거의 완성되어 갈 때쯤, 나는 기존 담장에 있던 네 개의 기둥을 콘크리트 기초 위에 설치하는 새 기둥으로 교체할 필요가 없다고 했습니다. “새 담장을 이전 기둥에 그냥 붙여만 주세요. 괜찮을 거예요.” 그러나 그것은 바람이 불기 전까지만 괜찮았던 것입니다. 예수님은 우리의 삶을 주님의 말씀에 순종하는 굳건한 반석 위에 짓는 것이 왜 중요한지 강조하시기 위해 다음과 같은 놀라운 말씀을 하셨습니다. “그러므로 누구든지 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하는 자는 그 집을 반석 위에 지은 지혜로운 사람 같으리니 비가 내리고 창수가 나고 바람이 불어 그 집에 부딪치되 무너지지 아니하나니 이는 주추를 반석 위에 놓은 까닭이요 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하지 아니하는 자는 그 집을 모래 위에 지은 어리석은 사람 같으리니”(마 7:24-26). 비바람이 집을 내리칠 때 반석 위에 지은 집만 그대로 우뚝 서 있습니다. 하나님의 말씀을 듣는 것도 아주 중요하지만, 말씀을 실천하는 것이 인생의 폭풍을 이겨내는 관건입니다. 반석이신 그리스도 위에 집을 짓기 시작하는 것은 아무리 늦은 것 같아도 결코 늦지 않습니다.

The wise man builds his house on rock
Instead of sinking sand;
For when the storms of life descend,
That house will surely stand. - Sper

When the world around you is crumbling,
God is the Rock on which you can stand.

Matthew 7:21-29

[21] "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
[22] "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
[23] "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
[24] "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
[25] "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
[26] "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:
[27] "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
[28] And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching,
[29] for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

지혜로운 사람은 가라앉는 모래 위가 아니라
튼튼한 반석 위에 집을 짓습니다
인생에 폭풍이 닥쳐와도
그 집은 확실히 서 있을 것입니다

온 세상이 무너져 내려도
하나님은 우리가 올라설 수 있는 반석이시다.

마태복음 7:21-29

[21] 나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 다 천국에 들어갈 것이 아니요 다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라
[22] 그 날에 많은 사람이 나더러 이르되 주여 주여 우리가 주의 이름으로 선지자 노릇하며 주의 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아 내며 주의 이름으로 많은 권능을 행하지 아니하였나이까 하리니
[23] 그 때에 내가 저희에게 밝히 말하되 내가 너희를 도무지 알지 못하니 불법을 행하는 자들아 내게서 떠나가라 하리라
[24] 그러므로 누구든지 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하는 자는 그 집을 반석 위에 지은 지혜로운 사람 같으리니
[25] 비가 내리고 창수가 나고 바람이 불어 그 집에 부딪치되 무너지지 아니하나니 이는 주추를 반석 위에 놓은 까닭요
[26] 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하지 아니하는 자는 그 집을 모래 위에 지은 어리석은 사람 같으리니
[27] 비가 내리고 창수가 나고 바람이 불어 그 집에 부딪치매 무너져 그 무너짐이 심하니라
[28] 예수께서 이 말씀을 마치시매 무리들이 그 가르치심에 놀라니
[29] 이는 그 가르치시는 것이 권위 있는 자와 같고 그들의 서기관들과 같지 아니함일러라
