Still In God¡¯s Hands		아직 하나님 손 안에
[ Job 1:13 - 1:22 ] - hymn 341 In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong. — Job 1:22 During my first year of seminary, I listened as a new friend described her life. Abandoned by her husband, she was raising two small children alone. Earning just over minimum wage, she had little chance of escaping the poverty and dangers she described in her neighborhood. As a father, I was moved by her concern for her children, and asked, ¡°How do you handle all of this?¡± She seemed surprised by my question and replied, ¡°We are doing all we can do, and I must leave them in God¡¯s hands.¡± Her trust in God in the midst of trials reminded me of Job¡¯s trust (1:6-22). A year later, she phoned and asked if I would come be with her at the funeral home. Her son had been killed in a drive-by shooting. I asked God for words to comfort her and for the wisdom not to try to explain the unexplainable. Standing with her that day, however, I marveled as again and again she comforted others—her confidence in God unshaken by this terrible blow. Turning to me as we parted, her final words were a poignant reminder of the depth of her faith: ¡°My boy is still in God¡¯s hands.¡± Like Job, she ¡°did not sin nor charge God with wrong¡±(v.22). We too can develop an unshakable faith by daily walking with the Lord.		[ 욥기 1:13 - 1:22 ] - 찬송가 341 장 이 모든 일에 욥이 범죄하지 아니하고 하나님을 향하여 원망하지 아니하니라 - 욥기 1:22 신학교 일학년 때 새로 만난 친구가 자신의 삶에 대해 말하는 것을 들은 적이 있습니다. 그녀는 남편에게 버림받고 어린 두 아이를 혼자 키우고 있었습니다. 최저임금보다 겨우 조금 더 받는 그녀가 가난과 위험한 거주 지역에서 벗어날 가망은 거의 없었습니다. 한 아버지로서 나는 아이들에 대한 그녀의 관심에 감동되어, “어떻게 이 모든 것을 극복하느냐”라고 물었습니다. 그녀는 내 질문에 놀란 기색을 보이며 “최선을 다하고 있어요. 그리고 아이들은 하나님의 손에 맡겨야만 합니다.”라고 대답했습니다. 시련 가운데서도 하나님을 의지하는 그녀가 내게 욥의 믿음을 상기시켜 주었습니다(1:6-22). 일 년 후 그녀가 전화를 걸어 장례식장에 와줄 수 있겠느냐고 물어왔습니다. 그녀의 아들이 지나가는 차에서 쏜 총에 맞아 죽었다는 것이었습니다. 나는 그녀를 위로할 말을 찾기 위해, 그리고 설명할 수 없는 것을 설명하려 하지 않도록 지혜를 구하기 위해 하나님께 기도하였습니다. 그러나 그날 그녀와 함께 있으면서 나는 그녀가 계속해서 남을 위로해주며, 그 엄청난 충격 속에서도 흔들리지 않고 하나님을 확신하는 것을 보고 감탄하였습니다. 헤어질 때 나를 돌아보며 “내 아들은 여전히 하나님 손 안에 있어요.”라고 한 그녀의 마지막 말은 그녀의 신앙의 깊이를 확실하게 상기시켜주었습니다. 욥과 같이 그녀도 “이 모든 일에 범죄하지 아니하고 하나님을 향하여 원망하지 아니하였습니다”(22절). 우리 또한 매일 주님과 동행함으로써 흔들리지 않는 믿음으로 발전할 수 있습니다.

Nothing can shake those who are secure in God¡¯s hands.

Job 1:13-22

[13] Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house;
[14] and a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,
[15] "when the Sabeans raided them and took them away--indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
[16] While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
[17] While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
[18] While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house,
[19] "and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
[20] Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.
[21] And he said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD."
[22] In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

오 내가 주님 안에서 발견한 평화
이 땅의 어떤 힘으로도 흔들 수 없는 평화
주님을 그렇게도 소중하게 하는 평화
누구도 내게서 빼앗을 수 없는 평화

어떤 것도 하나님 손 안에 안전하게 있는 자를 흔들 수 없다.

욥기 1:13-22

[13] 하루는 욥의 자녀들이 그 맏아들의 집에서 음식을 먹으며 포도주를 마실 때에
[14] 사환이 욥에게 와서 아뢰되 소는 밭을 갈고 나귀는 그 곁에서 풀을 먹는데
[15] 스바 사람이 갑자기 이르러 그것들을 빼앗고 칼로 종들을 죽였나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다
[16] 그가 아직 말하는 동안에 또 한 사람이 와서 아뢰되 하나님의 불이 하늘에서 떨어져서 양과 종들을 살라 버렸나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다
[17] 그가 아직 말하는 동안에 또 한 사람이 와서 아뢰되 갈대아 사람이 세 무리를 지어 갑자기 낙타에게 달려들어 그것을 빼앗으며 칼로 종들을 죽였나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다
[18] 그가 아직 말하는 동안에 또 한 사람이 와서 아뢰되 주인의 자녀들이 그들의 맏아들의 집에서 음식을 먹으며 포도주를 마시는데
[19] 거친 들에서 큰 바람이 와서 집 네 모퉁이를 치매 그 청년들 위에 무너지므로 그들이 죽었나이다 나만 홀로 피하였으므로 주인께 아뢰러 왔나이다 한지라
[20] 욥이 일어나 겉옷을 찢고 머리털을 밀고 땅에 엎드려 예배하며
[21] 이르되 내가 모태에서 알몸으로 나왔사온즉 또한 알몸이 그리로 돌아가올지라 주신 이도 여호와시요 거두신 이도 여호와시오니 여호와의 이름이 찬송을 받으실지니이다 하고
[22] 이 모든 일에 욥이 범죄하지 아니하고 하나님을 향하여 원망하지 아니하니라
