Helping With Hurdles		넘어진 자 돕기
[ Acts 15:36 - 15:41 ] - hymn 454 Two are better than one ... For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 When my daughter Debbie was a little girl, she took ballet lessons. One dance exercise involved jumping over a rolled-up gym mat. Debbie¡¯s first attempt resulted in her bouncing off this hurdle. For a moment she sat on the floor stunned, and then she began to cry. Immediately, I darted out to help her up and spoke soothing words to her. Then, holding her hand, I ran with her until she successfully jumped over the rolled-up mat. Debbie needed my encouragement to clear that hurdle. While working with Paul on his first missionary journey, John Mark faced a major hurdle of his own: Things got tough on the trip, and he quit. When Barnabas tried to re-enlist Mark for Paul¡¯s second journey, it created conflict. Barnabas wanted to give him a second chance, but Paul saw him as a liability. Ultimately, they parted ways, and Barnabas took Mark with him on his journey (Acts 15:36-39). The Bible is silent about John Mark¡¯s response when Barnabas helped him over his ministry hurdle. However, he must have proven himself, because Paul later wrote that John Mark ¡°is useful to me for ministry¡±(2 Tim.4:11). When we see a believer struggling with an apparent failure, we should provide help. Can you think of someone who needs your help to clear a hurdle?		[ 사도행전 15:36 - 15:41 ] - 찬송가 454 장 두 사람이 한 사람보다 나음은…혹시 그들이 넘어지면 하나가 그 동무를 붙들어 일으키려니와 - 전도서 4:9-10 우리 딸 데비는 어렸을 때 발레수업을 받았는데 그 중 하나에는 돌돌 말아놓은 매트를 뛰어 넘는 동작이 있었습니다. 데비는 첫 시도에서 이 장애물에 걸려 넘어지고 말았습니다. 잠시 동안 아이는 바닥에 멍하니 앉아 있더니 곧 울기 시작했습니다. 내가 얼른 뛰어나가 아이를 일으켜 세우고 달래주었습니다. 그리고는 아이의 손을 잡고 말아놓은 매트를 아이가 성공적으로 뛰어넘을 때까지 같이 달려주었습니다. 데비는 그 장애물을 넘는데 내 격려가 필요했습니다. 마가라고 하는 요한은 바울과 함께 한 그의 첫 선교 여행에서 자기 자신이라는 큰 장애물에 마주치게 되었습니다. 여행은 너무 고되었고, 그는 그만 포기해버렸습니다. 바나바가 바울의 2차 여행을 위해 마가를 다시 데리고 가려고 하자 이로 인해 다툼이 일어나게 되었습니다. 바나바는 마가에게 다시 한 번 기회를 주기를 원했지만 바울은 그를 부담스럽게 여겼습니다. 결국 그들은 갈라져서 바나바가 마가를 데리고 선교 여행을 떠났습니다(행 15:36-39). 마가가 선교의 걸림돌을 극복하도록 바나바가 도와주었을 때 마가의 반응이 어떠했는지에 대해 성경은 아무런 이야기도 하지 않습니다. 그러나 바울이 후에 마가에 대해 “그가 나의 일에 유익하니라”(딤후 4:11)라고 말한 것으로 보아 마가는 자신을 입증해 보인 것 같습니다. 믿는 사람이 실패로 인해 힘겨워할 때, 우리는 도움을 주어야 합니다. 장애물을 극복하기 위해 당신의 도움이 필요하다고 생각되는 사람이 있습니까?

Lord, I want to show the kindness of Yourheart today. Please show me who I can helpand in what way. I want my words and deedsto convey Your love. Amen.

Kindness picks others up when troubles weigh them down.

Acts 15:36-41

[36] Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing."
[37] Now Barnabas was determined to take with them John called Mark.
[38] But Paul insisted that they should not take with them the one who had departed from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work.
[39] Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus;
[40] but Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of God.
[41] And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

주님, 주님의 친절한 마음을
오늘 누군가에게 보여주고 싶습니다.
도움이 필요한 사람과 그 방법을 제게 보여주소서.
제 말과 행동이 주님의 사랑을 전할 수 있기를 원합니다. 아멘

고통이 사람들을 끌어내릴 때 친절은 그들을 일으켜 세운다

사도행전 15:36-41

[36] 며칠 후에 바울이 바나바더러 말하되 우리가 주의 말씀을 전한 각 성으로 다시 가서 형제들이 어떠한가 방문하자 하고
[37] 바나바는 마가라 하는 요한도 데리고 가고자 하나
[38] 바울은 밤빌리아에서 자기들을 떠나 함께 일하러 가지 아니한 자를 데리고 가는 것이 옳지 않다 하여
[39] 서로 심히 다투어 피차 갈라서니 바나바는 미가를 데리고 배 타고 구브로로 가고
[40] 바울은 실라를 택한 후에 형제들에게 주의 은혜에 부탁함을 받고 떠나
[41] 수리아와 길리기아로 다니며 교회들을 견고하게 하니라
