Still Bearing Fruit		아직도 열매를 맺는다
[ John 15:8 - 15:17 ] - hymn 496 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit. — John 15:8 Sometimes the harvest comes late. Sometimes you sow seeds of hope without really knowing it. Sometimes the fruit of your life comes in a way and time you would never expect. My daughter Melissa had accepted God¡¯s gift of salvation at a young age. But she never saw herself as some great Christian who could change lives. She was just a high school junior trying to cope with a job, school, and sports while balancing friendships—just a kid trying to live as God would want her to. Yet, in 2002 when He welcomed her into heaven when she was just 17, her faith in Christ and her faithful life stood on their own. No advance warning. No time to make things right with others. No new opportunities to ¡°bear much fruit¡± (John 15:8). Melissa tried to live in a way that was pleasing to God—and her life is still bearing fruit. Just recently, I heard of a young person who trusted Jesus as Savior at a sports camp after a coach shared Melissa¡¯s story. All of us are writing a story with our lives—one that affects others now and in the future. Are we living to please God? We don¡¯t know when the Lord will call us Home. Let¡¯s live every day with an eye on the harvest.		[ 요한복음 15:8 - 15:17 ] - 찬송가 496 장 너희가 열매를 많이 맺으면 내 아버지께서 영광을 받으실 것이요 - 요한복음 15:8 간혹 추수가 늦어질 때가 있습니다. 때로는 의식하지 못한 채 희망의 씨를 뿌릴 때가 있고, 때로는 삶의 열매가 전혀 기대하지 않았던 방법으로 기대하지 않았던 때에 맺히기도 합니다. 내 딸 멜리사는 어린 나이에 하나님의 구원의 선물을 받아들였습니다. 그러나 그녀는 결코 자신이 남의 삶을 바꿀 수 있는 위대한 그리스도인이라고는 보지 않았습니다. 그녀는 친구들과 잘 사귀는 한편, 일하고 학교 다니고 운동을 잘하려고 노력하는 고등학교 2학년생이었던, 하나님이 원하시는 대로 살아가려고 노력했던 한 아이에 불과했습니다. 그러나 2002년, 하나님이 겨우 17살이었던 그녀를 하늘나라로 맞아들이셨을 때, 그녀는 그리스도 안에서 믿음과 신실한 삶만이 제대로 서 있었을 뿐, 어떤 예고도 없었고, 대인관계를 잘 정리할 시간도 없었으며, “많은 열매를 맺을”(요 15:8) 새로운 기회도 갖지 못했습니다. 멜리사는 하나님을 기쁘게 해드리는 삶을 살려고 노력했습니다. 그리고 그녀의 삶은 아직도 열매를 맺고 있습니다. 바로 얼마 전, 어떤 스포츠캠프에서 한 젊은이가 코치로부터 엘리사에 대한 이야기를 듣고 주님을 구주로 받아들였다는 이야기를 들었습니다. 우리는 모두 현재뿐 아니라 미래에도 남에게 영향을 줄 수 있는 삶의 이야기를 쓰고 있습니다. 우리는 하나님을 기쁘게 하기 위해 살고 있습니까? 주님께서 언제 우리를 천국 집으로 부르실지 모릅니다. 하루하루 천국 추수에 관심을 두고 사십시다.

A fruitful harvest requires a faithful life.

John 15:8-17

[8] "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
[9] "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
[10] "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
[11] "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
[12] "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
[13] "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
[14] "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
[15] "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
[16] "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
[17] "These things I command you, that you love one another.

삶 속에서 우리가 말한 진실만이
땅위에서 우리가 심은 씨앗만이
우리가 잊힌 후에도 앞으로 전해지리니
곧 추수한 열매와 우리의 행적들이라네

신실한 삶을 살 때 결실이 풍성한 추수를 하게 된다.

요한복음 15:8-17

[8] 너희가 열매를 많이 맺으면 내 아버지께서 영광을 받으실 것이요 너희는 내 제자가 되리라
[9] 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것 같이 나도 너희를 사랑하였으니 나의 사랑 안에 거하라
[10] 내가 아버지의 계명을 지켜 그의 사랑 안에 거하는 것 같이 너희도 내 계명을 지키면 내 사랑 안에 거하리라
[11] 내가 이것을 너희에게 이름은 내 기쁨이 너희 안에 있어 너희 기쁨을 충만하게 하려 함이라
[12] 내 계명은 곧 내가 너희를 사랑한 것 같이 너희도 서로 사랑하라 하는 이것이니라
[13] 사람이 친구를 위하여 자기 목숨을 버리면 이보다 더 큰 사랑이 없나니
[14] 너희는 내가 명하는 대로 행하면 곧 나의 친구라
[15] 이제부터는 너희를 종이라 하지 아니하리니 종은 주인이 하는 것을 알지 못함이라 너희를 친구라 하였노니 내가 내 아버지께 들은 것을 다 너희에게 알게 하였음이라
[16] 너희가 나를 택한 것이 아니요 내가 너희를 택하여 세웠나니 이는 너희로 가서 열매를 맺게 하고 또 너희 열매가 항상 있게 하여 내 이름으로 아버지께 무엇을 구하든지 다 받게 하려 함이라
[17] 내가 이것을 너희에게 명함은 너희로 서로 사랑하게 하려 함이라
