Drop Your Hands		손을 내려놓으라
[ Psalms 46:1 - 46:11 ] - hymn 585 Be still, and know that I am God. — Psalm 46:10 You¡¯d think I would have my mother¡¯s fingerprints embedded in my knee from all the times she squeezed my leg in church and whispered in no uncertain terms, ¡°Be still.¡± Like any boy, I had a bad case of the wiggles in places like church. So for years, when I read, ¡°Be still, and know that I am God¡± (Ps. 46:10), I thought of it in terms of not being antsy. But the Hebrew word for still means ¡°to cease striving.¡± It¡¯s the concept of putting your hands down and letting God intervene in your situation without your interference. This word picture is interesting, since we often use our hands to push things out of our way, to protect ourselves, or to strike back. When we drop our hands, it makes us feel defenseless and vulnerable—unless we can trust that ¡°God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble¡± (v.1), and that ¡°the Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge¡± (v.7). In other words, stop struggling and wait on God to do His work! In the face of all of life¡¯s circumstances, we can know the peace of trusting the presence and power of God in the midst of trouble as we wait patiently and prayerfully for His deliverance. So drop your hands, for God¡¯s hands are busy on your behalf!		[ 시편 46:1 - 46:11 ] - 찬송가 585 장 너희는 가만히 있어 내가 하나님 됨을 알지어다 - 시편 46:10 어머니가 교회에서 단호하게 “가만히 있어”라고 속삭이며 늘 내 다리를 꽉 움켜쥐셨기 때문에, 내 무릎에는 아마 어머니의 지문이 새겨져 있을지도 모르겠습니다. 그 나이 또래의 모든 남자아이들처럼 나도 교회 같은 곳에서 가만히 있지를 못했습니다. 그래서 오랫동안 “너희는 가만히 있어 내가 하나님 됨을 알지어다”(시 46:10)라는 말씀을 읽을 때면 나는 그것을 침착하라는 의미로 이해했습니다. 하지만 히브리어로 ‘가만히’라는 말은 “전심을 다해 노력하던 것을 멈추는 것”을 의미합니다. 이것은 당신의 손을 내려놓음으로써 하나님이 당신의 참견 없이 당신의 상황에 개입하시도록 한다는 개념입니다. 우리 앞길을 막고 있는 것을 걷어 내거나, 스스로를 보호하거나, 혹은 되받아치기 위해 우리는 주로 우리의 손을 사용하기 때문에 이 단어가 연상시켜주는 그림은 흥미롭습니다. 우리의 손을 내려놓을 때 그것은 우리로 하여금 우리 자신을 무방비 상태나 취약하게 느끼게 만듭니다. “하나님은 우리의 피난처시요 힘이시니 환난 중에 만날 큰 도움이시라”(1절)는 말씀과 “만군의 여호와께서 우리와 함께 하시니 야곱의 하나님은 우리의 피난처시로다”(7절)라는 말씀을 우리가 믿지 못할 때 그렇습니다. 그 말씀들은 다시 말해서, 발버둥 치며 애쓰기를 멈추고 하나님께 맡기고 기다리라는 것입니다! 삶의 모든 상황을 마주 대할 때, 하나님의 구원하심을 기도하며 참을성 있게 기다린다면, 우리는 문제의 한 가운데에서도 하나님의 임재와 능력을 신뢰하는 평안을 알게 됩니다. 그러므로 당신의 손을 내려놓으십시오. 하나님의 손이 당신을 대신해서 분주하실 것입니다.

Psalm 46:1-11

[1] To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
[2] Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
[3] Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
[4] There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
[5] God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
[6] The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
[7] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
[8] Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has made desolations in the earth.
[9] He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.
[10] Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
[11] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

가는 길이 가파르고 험할 때
가만히 있어 그분이 하나님 되심을 알라
하나님이 주시는 것 때문이 아니라
하나님이 누구이신가로 인해 항상 만족하게 되리라

문제를 하나님의 손에 놓으면,
하나님은 평안을 우리의 마음에 놓아주신다.

[4] 한 시내가 있어 나뉘어 흘러 하나님의 성 곧 지존하신 이의 성소를 기쁘게 하도다
[5] 하나님이 그 성 중에 계시매 성이 흔들리지 아니할 것이라 새벽에 하나님이 도우시리로다
[6] 뭇 나라가 떠들며 왕국이 흔들렸더니 그가 소리를 내시매 땅이 녹았도다
[7] 만군의 여호와께서 우리와 함께 하시니 야곱의 하나님은 우리의 피난처시로다 (셀라)
[8] 와서 여호와의 행적을 볼지어다 그가 땅을 황무지로 만드셨도다
[9] 그가 땅 끝까지 전쟁을 쉬게 하심이여 활을 꺾고 창을 끊으며 수레를 불사르시는도다
[10] 이르시기를 너희는 가만히 있어 내가 하나님 됨을 알지어다 내가 뭇 나라 중에서 높임을 받으리라 내가 세계 중에서 높임을 받으리라 하시도다
[11] 만군의 여호와께서 우리와 함께 하시니 야곱의 하나님은 우리의 피난처시로다 (셀라)
