[ Revelation 7:9 - 7:17 ] - hymn 380 The Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd [us] and lead [us] to living fountains of waters. - Revelation 7:17 During Oswald Chambers¡¯ service as a YMCA chaplain in Egypt(1915-1917), he touched the lives of many soldiers who died in World War I. On November 6, 1916, Chambers wrote in his diary: ¡°We have a letter from a New Zealand friend telling us that Ted Strack has been killed. And so Ted Strack has ¡®gone to be with Jesus.¡¯ That is just how he would have put it ... [He] was a rough beauty of nature and of grace, a fearless, loveable little saint. Thank God for every remembrance of him ... So they are gathering one by one.¡± As we grieve the death of those we love, we cling to Jesus¡¯ promise of life beyond the grave. The book of Revelation records John¡¯s vision of a great multitude from every nation, tribe, and language gathered around God¡¯s throne in heaven(7:9). The overarching truth of this passage is a glad, eternal reunion when ¡°the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd [us] and lead [us] to living fountains of waters¡±(v.17). The passing of every believer in Christ foreshadows the day when we will join them with the Lord. In our sadness today, we are hopeful as we see that ¡°they are gathering one by one.¡± - David McCasland		[ 요한계시록 7:9 - 7:17 ] - 찬송가 380 장 이는 보좌 가운데에 계신 어린 양이 그들의 목자가 되사 생명수 샘으로 인도하시고 - 요한계시록 7:17 이집트에서 YMCA 지도목사로 사역한(1915-1917) 오스왈드 챔버스는 제1차 세계대전 중 전사한 많은 군인들의 삶에 영향을 끼쳤습니다. 1916년 11월 6일 그는 일기에 다음과 같이 썼습니다. “한 뉴질랜드 친구로부터 테드 스트랙이 전사했다는 편지를 받았다. 그래서 이제 그는 ‘이곳을 떠나 예수님과 함께 있게’ 되었다. 그가 썼다면 아마 틀림없이 그렇게 썼을 것이다...그에게는 야성적인 자연미와 우아함이 있었으며, 용감하고 사랑스러운 작은 성인이었다. 그에 대한 모든 기억에 대해 하나님께 감사를 드린다...이렇게 해서 그들은 한 사람씩 모이고 있다.” 사랑하는 사람들의 죽음을 슬퍼하면서 우리는 죽음을 초월한 생명에 대한 예수님의 약속을 꼭 붙듭니다. 요한계시록은 모든 나라와 모든 민족, 그리고 모든 언어의 수많은 사람들이 천상의 하나님 보좌 주위로 모여들고 있다는 요한의 환상을 기록하고 있습니다(7:9). 이 성구가 지닌 무엇보다 중요한 진리는, “보좌 가운데에 계신 어린 양이 그들의 목자가 되사 생명수 샘으로 인도하실”(17절) 때 우리가 누릴 기쁘고 영원한 재회입니다. 그리스도를 믿는 모든 사람들의 죽음은 우리가 주님과 함께 그들과 합류하게 될 그날을 미리 예시해주는 것입니다. 우리는 오늘 슬퍼하는 가운데서도 “그들이 한 사람씩 모이는” 것을 보면서 소망을 가질 수 있습니다.

Revelation 7:9-17

[9] After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
[10] and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
[11] All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
[12] saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen."
[13] Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?"
[14] And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
[15] "Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.
[16] "They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
[17] "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

저녁노을 저편에서 우리보다 먼저 떠난
사랑하는 이들과의 즐거운 재회
그 아름다운 고향에서 우리는 이별을 모르리
저녁노을 저편에서 영원하리

이별은 이땅의 법칙이고
재회는 하늘의 법칙이다.

[9] 이 일 후에 내가 보니 각 나라와 족속과 백성과 방언에서 아무도 능히 셀 수 없는 큰 무리가 나와 흰 옷을 입고 손에 종려 가지를 들고 보좌 앞과 어린 양 앞에 서서
[10] 큰 소리로 외쳐 이르되 구원하심이 보좌에 앉으신 우리 하나님과 어린 양에게 있도다 하니
[11] 모든 천사가 보좌와 장로들과 네 생물의 주위에 서 있다가 보좌 앞에 엎드려 얼굴을 대고 하나님께 경배하여
[12] 이르되 아멘 찬송과 영광과 지혜와 감사와 존귀와 권능과 힘이 우리 하나님께 세세토록 있을 지어다 아멘
[13] 장로 중 하나가 응답하여 나에게 이 흰 옷 입은 자들이 누구며 또 어디서 왔느냐
[14] 내가 말하기를 내 주여 당신이 아시나이다 하니 그가 나에게 이르되 이는 큰 환난에서 나오는 자들인데 어린 양의 피에 그 옷을 씻어 희게 하였느니라
[15] 그러므로 그들이 하나님의 보좌 앞에 있고 또 그의 성전에서 밤낮 하나님을 섬기매 보좌에 앉으신 이가 그들 위에 장막을 치시리니
[16] 그들이 다시는 주리지도 아니하며 목마르지도 아니하고 해나 아무 뜨거운 기운에 상하지도 아니하리니
[17] 이는 보좌 가운데에 계신 어린 양이 그들의 목자가 되사 생명수 샘으로 인도하시고 하나님께서 그들의 눈에서 모든 눈물을 씻어 주실 것임이라
