THE OLD WINDMILL		오래된 풍차
[ Galatians 6:6 - 6:10 ] - hymn 89 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. - John 7:38 A man who grew up on a ranch in West Texas tells about a rickety, old windmill that stood alongside his family¡¯s barn and pumped water to their place. It was the only source of water for miles. In a strong wind the windmill worked well, but in a light breeze it wouldn¡¯t turn. It required manually turning the vane until the fan faced directly into the wind. Only when properly positioned did the windmill supply water to the ranch. I think of that story when I meet with pastors from small churches in remote areas. Many feel isolated and unsupported-caregivers for whom no one seems to care. As a consequence, they grow weary and struggle to bring life-giving water to their flock. I like to tell them about the old windmill and our need to daily reposition ourselves-to intentionally turn toward the Lord and His Word and to drink deeply from Him who is the source of living water. What¡¯s true for pastors is true for all. Service for God flows from within, outward. Jesus said, ¡°He who believes in Me, ... out of his heart will flow rivers of living water¡±(John 7:38). It¡¯s when God speaks to our depths that we are able to touch the lives of others. To refresh others, let¡¯s return to the Source of life regularly. - David Roper		[ 갈라디아서 6:6 - 6:10 ] - 찬송가 89 장 나를 믿는 자는 성경에 이름과 같이 그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나오리라 - 요한복음 7:38 서부 텍사스의 한 목장에서 자란 남자가 목장에 물을 대주던, 곡물창고 옆에 있던 다 쓰러져가는 낡은 풍차에 대해 이야기 해주었습니다. 그것은 그 근처 수 킬로미터 이내에서 유일한 물 공급원이었습니다. 풍차는 바람이 강하게 불 때는 잘 돌아갔지만 가벼운 바람에는 돌아가지 않았습니다. 그럴 때면 풍차 날개가 바람에 정면으로 향하도록 사람이 만져야 했고, 풍차날개의 방향이 제대로 되었을 때에만 풍차는 목장으로 물을 대주었습니다. 나는 고립된 지역의 작은 교회를 섬기는 목사님들을 만날 때마다 그 이야기가 생각납니다. 그들 대부분은 사람들의 관심 밖으로 벗어나 지원받지 못하는 목회자라고 느끼고 있으며, 그 결과 맡겨진 양떼에게 생명수를 먹이는데 지치고 힘들어하고 있습니다. 나는 그들에게 이 낡은 풍차에 대한 이야기를 들려주고 싶습니다. 우리 마음을 매일 하나님과 그의 말씀으로 향하도록 억지로라도 조정해서 생수의 근원이신 하나님으로부터 생수를 마음껏 공급받으라고 말입니다. 목사들에게 해당되는 것이 우리 모두에게도 해당됩니다. 하나님을 향하여 섬기는 마음은 안에서부터 밖으로 나옵니다. 예수님은 “나를 믿는 자는 … 그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나오리라”(요 7:38)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님의 말씀이 우리의 마음 깊은 곳을 감동시킬 때, 우리가 다른 사람들의 삶에 감동을 줄 수 있습니다. 다른 사람들의 삶을 새롭게 하기 위하여 우리자신을 생명의 근원이신 하나님께 향하도록 정기적으로 되돌립시다.

fi-nd strength in the Lord.

Galatians 6:6-10

[6] Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
[7] Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
[8] For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
[9] And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
[10] Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

우리의 마음이 지치고
우리의 영이 시들어 갈 때
하나님께서 우리를 앞서 가시리니
모든 것을 그분께 맡기세

당신이 삶에 지쳐 있을 때
주 안에서 힘을 얻으라.

[6] 가르침을 받는 자는 말씀을 가르치는 자와 모든 좋은 것을 함께 하라
[7] 스스로 속이지 말라 하나님은 만홀히 여김을 받지 아니하시나니 사람이 무엇으로 심든지 그대로 거두리라
[8] 자기의 육체를 위하여 심는 자는 육체로부터 썩어진 것을 거두고 성령을 위하여 심는 자는 성령으로부터 영생을 거두리라
[9] 우리가 선을 행하되 낙심하지 말지니 피곤하지 아니하면 때가 이르매 거두리라
[10] 그러므로 우리는 기회 있는 대로 모든 이에게 착한 일을 하되 더욱 믿음의 가정들에게 할지니라
