Who You¡¯re Meant To Be		하나님이 원하시는 사람
[ Romans 12:1 - 12:2 ] - hymn 216 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice. — Romans 12:1 ¡°Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.¡± Quoting those words of St. Catherine of Siena, the Bishop of London began his message to Prince William and Kate Middleton at their wedding in Westminster Abbey. Many watching on TV were deeply touched as the bishop affirmed their choice ¡°to be married in the sight of a generous God who so loved the world that He gave Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ.¡± Then he urged the couple to pursue a love that finds its center beyond themselves. From Romans 12, the bride¡¯s brother read: ¡°I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect¡± (vv.1-2 NRSV). That royal wedding reminds us all, single or married, of two great truths: (1) God¡¯s great love for us expressed in the sacrifice of Jesus and (2) God¡¯s desire that we find life¡¯s greatest joy and transformation in our relationship with Him. Aren¡¯t those the keys to becoming the persons God meant us to be?		[ 로마서 12:1 - 12:2 ] - 찬송가 216 장 그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 - 로마서 12:1 윌리엄 왕자와 케이트 미들톤의 결혼식이 웨스트 민스터 성당에서 거행될 때, 런던 주교는 “하나님이 원하시는 사람이 되라, 그러면 당신은 세상에 불을 지를 수 있다.”라는 시에나의 성 캐서린의 말을 인용하면서 주례사를 시작했습니다. “이 세상을 너무 사랑해서 예수 그리스도를 통해 자기 자신을 우리에게 주신 자비로우신 하나님 앞에서 결혼하기로 했다.”라는 그들의 선택을 주교가 엄숙히 선언하자 TV를 보던 많은 사람들이 깊이 감동했습니다. 그리고 주교는 그 부부에게 자기 자신에게 중심을 두는 사랑에서 벗어나라고 권면했습니다. 신부의 남동생은 “그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 이는 너희가 드릴 영적 예배니라 너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라”(1-2절)라는 로마서 12장 말씀을 낭독했습니다. 우리가 결혼을 했든 안 했든 이 왕실의 결혼식은 우리 모두에게 두 가지의 진리를 상기시켜 주는데, 그것은 (1) 예수 그리스도의 희생을 통해 보여주신 하나님의 크신 사랑과 (2) 우리 인생에서 가장 큰 기쁨과 변화됨을 주님과의 관계에서 찾으라는 하나님의 바람, 이 두 가지입니다. 바로 이 진리가 우리가 하나님이 원하시는 사람이 되는 열쇠가 아닐까요?

We become who God meant us to be by giving ourselves completely to Him.

Romans 12:1-2,9-18

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

[9] Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
[10] Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
[11] not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
[12] rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
[13] distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
[14] Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
[15] Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
[16] Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
[17] Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
[18] If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

하나님이 내 앞에 펼쳐 놓으신 길
내가 이해하지 못할지라도
당신의 뜻에 완전히 굴복하는 것
주님! 이것이 나의 기도가 되게 하소서

우리의 모든 것을 주님께 드릴 때
우리는 그분이 원하시는 사람이 된다.

[12] 소망 중에 즐거워하며 환난 중에 참으며 기도에 항상 힘쓰며
[13] 성도들의 쓸 것을 공급하며 손 대접하기를 힘쓰라
[14] 너희를 핍박하는 자를 축복하라 축복하고 저주하지 말라
[15] 즐거워하는 자들로 함께 즐거워하고 우는 자들로 함께 울라
[16] 서로 마음을 같이 하며 높은 데 마음을 두지 말고 도리어 낮은 데 처하며 스스로 지혜 있는 체 말라
[17] 아무에게도 악으로 악을 갚지 말고 모든 사람 앞에서 선한 일을 도모하라
[18] 할 수 있거든 너희로서는 모든 사람으로 더불어 평화하라
