BEAUTY IN THE CHURCH		교회의 아름다움
[ Exodus 36:1 - 36:7 ] - hymn 31 All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the LORD has commanded. - Exodus 35:10 When my husband, Jay, and I decided to build a new house, we didn't recruit friends and family who enjoy working with power tools; instead we hired a skilled builder to create something both functional and beautiful. Beauty in the church building, however, is not always a high priority. Some associate it with impracticality, so anything ornate or decorative is considered wasteful. But that wasn't God's attitude when He established a place of worship for the ancient Isra-elites. He didn't recruit just anybody to set up an ordinary tent. He appointed skilled craftsmen, Bezalel and Oho-liab(Ex.36:1), to decorate the taber-nacle with finely-woven tapestries and intricately designed ornaments(37:17-20). I think the beauty was important then because it reminded the people of the worth of God in their worship. During the dry and dusty days of desert wanderings, they needed a reminder of God's majesty. The beauty created by God's people in worship settings today can serve the same purpose. We offer God our best talents because He is worthy. Beauty also gives us a glimpse of heaven and whets our appetites for what God is preparing for our future. - Julie Ackerman Link		[ 출애굽기 36:1 - 36:7 ] - 찬송가 31 장 너희 가운데 기술 있는 사람은 모두 와서, 주께서 명하신 모든 것을 만들어라(표준새번역) - 출애굽기 35:10 남편 제이와 내가 새 집을 짓기로 결정했을 때, 전동공구로 일하기를 좋아하는 가족이나 친구들을 부르지 않았습니다. 그 대신 우리는 아름다우면서도 실용적인 무언가를 만들어낼 수 있는 숙련된 건축가를 고용했습니다. 그러나 교회 건축에서는 아름다움이 항상 최우선 순위는 아닙니다. 어떤 사람들은 그것을 비실용적이라고 하며, 장식이나 화려한 것은 무엇이든 다 낭비라고 생각합니다. 그러나 하나님께서 옛 이스라엘 백성을 위해 예배장소를 지으실 때, 하나님의 뜻은 달랐습니다. 그분은 아무나 불러 평범한 장막을 세우려 하신 것이 아니었습니다. 하나님은 브살렐과 오홀리압 같은 솜씨 있는 장인들을 세우셔서(출 36:1), 정교하게 짠 벽걸이와 세밀하게 디자인한 장식품으로 성전을 꾸미게 하셨습니다(37:17-20). 그때에는 하나님을 예배하는 사람들에게 하나님의 고귀함을 상기시키기 위하여 아름다움이 중요했던 것 같습니다. 메마르고 더러운 사막을 거쳐오는 동안 그들에게 하나님의 위엄을 상기시킬 필요가 있었습니다. 오늘날 하나님의 백성들이 예배를 위해 만든 아름다운 것들도 같은 목적으로 쓰일 수 있습니다. 하나님은 받으실 만한 분이시기 때문에 우리는 우리 최고의 재능을 하나님께 바치는 것입니다. 그리고 아름다움은 천국의 이미지를 우리에게 보여주고, 하나님이 우리의 미래를 위해 준비해놓으신 것들에 대한 열망을 일으켜줍니다.

Lord, whether or not we're able to worship in a
beautiful place, we ask You to create in us beautiful
hearts that honor You in our times of worship.
You are deserving of all our praise. Amen.

Beauty reflects God.

Exodus 36:1-7

[1] "And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the LORD has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the LORD has commanded."
[2] Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work.
[3] And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.
[4] Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work he was doing,
[5] and they spoke to Moses, saying, "The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded us to do."
[6] So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, "Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary." And the people were restrained from bringing,
[7] for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done--indeed too much.

주님, 우리가 아름다운 장소에서 예배하든 그렇지 않든,
예배드릴 때에 주님을 영화롭게 할 수 있는 아름다운 마음을
우리 안에 창조해주시기를 간구합니다.
주님은 우리의 모든 찬양을 받으실 만한 분이십니다. 아멘.

아름다움은 하나님을 반영한다.

출애굽기 36:1-7

[1] 브사렐과 오홀리압과 및 마음이 지혜로운 사람 곧 여호와께서 지혜와 총명을 부으사 성소에 쓸 모든 일을 할 줄 알게 하심을 입은 자들은 여호와의 무릇 명하신 대로 할 것이니라
[2] 모세가 브살렐과 오홀리압과 및 마음이 지혜로운 사람 곧 그 마음에 여호와께로 지혜를 얻고 와서 그 일을 하려고 마음에 원하는 모든 자를 부르매
[3] 그들이 이스라엘 자손의 성소의 모든 것을 만들기 위하여 가져 온 예물을 모세에게서 받으니라 그러나 백성이 아침마다 자원하는 예물을 연하여 가져 오는 고로
[4] 성소의 모든 일을 하는 지혜로운 자들이 각기 하는 일을 정지하고 와서
[5] 모세에게 고하여 가로되 백성이 너무 많이 가져오므로 여호와의 명하신 일에 쓰기에 남음이 있나이다
[6] 모세가 명을 내리매 그들이 진중에 공포하여 가로되 무론 남녀하고 성소에 드릴 예물을 다시 만들지 말라 하매 백성이 가져오기를 정지하니
[7] 있는 재료가 모든 일을 하기에 넉넉하여 남음이 있었더라
