The Enemy Of Trust		믿음의 적
[ Judges 7:2 - 7:8 ] - hymn 542 The Lord said to Gideon, ¡°The people who are with you are too many.¡± —Judges 7:2 Military commanders always want to have enough troops to accomplish their mission. Most would prefer having too many not too few, but not everyone agrees on just how many troops will be enough. When Gideon recruited an army of 32,000 men to stand against those who oppressed the Israelites, the Lord told him, ¡°The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ¡®My own hand has saved me¡¯¡±(Judg. 7:2). So the Lord began to reduce Gideon¡¯s army. When the fearful were allowed to leave, 22,000 men went home (v.3). A second reduction cut the force from the remaining 10,000 to 300 troops, of whom the Lord said, ¡°By the three hundred ... I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand¡±(v.7). And so it happened (vv.19-23). In our life of faith, our resources can become the enemy of trust. God wants us to depend on Him, not our own strength, whether physical, financial, or intellectual. When the Lord reduces our resources from ¡°32,000 to 300,¡± it is not punishment. It is preparation for Him to be glorified through our lives as we acknowledge and trust His power.		[ 사사기 7:2 - 7:8 ] - 찬송가 542 장 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 너를 따르는 백성이 너무 많은즉- 사사기 7:2 군대의 지휘관들은 그들의 임무를 완수하기 위해 언제나 충분한 병력을 갖기 원합니다. 대부분 너무 적은 병력보다는 매우 많은 병력을 원하지만, 정확히 얼마나 많은 병력이면 충분한가에 대해서는 사람마다 의견이 다릅니다. 기드온이 이스라엘을 압제하는 무리들에 맞서기 위해 32,000명의 군사를 모집하였을때, 여호와께서 그에게 말씀하셨습니다. “너를 따르는 백성이 너무 많은즉 내가 그들의 손에 미디안 사람을 넘겨주지 아니하리니 이는 이스라엘이 나를 거슬러 스스로 자랑하기를 내 손이 나를 구원하였다 할까 함이니라”(삿 7:2). 그래서 여호와께서는 기드온의 병력을 감축하기 시작하셨습니다. 두려운 사람은 떠나라고 했을 때 22,000명이 집으로 돌아갔습니다(3절). 두 번째 감축으로 남아 있던 10,000명이 300명으로 줄었습니다. 여호와께서는 그들에 대해 “삼백 명으로 너희를 구원하며 미디안 사람을 네 손에 넘겨주리라”(7절)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 그대로 되었습니다(19-23절). 우리의 믿음의 삶에 있어서도 우리가 가진 것들이 믿음의 적이 될 수 있습니다. 하나님은 우리가 그분을 의지하기를 원하시며 우리 자신의 힘을 의지하기를 원하시지 않습니다. 그것이 육체적인 힘이든, 경제적인 힘이든, 또는 지적인 힘이든지 말입니다. 주님께서 우리가 가진 것들을 “3만 2천에서 300으로” 줄이실 때, 그것은 징벌이 아닙니다. 그것은 우리가 그분의 능력을 인정하고 신뢰할 때, 우리의 삶을 통하여 주님께서 영광을 받으실 준비가 되는 것입니다.

When God gives us an impossible task— it becomes possible.

Judges 7:2-8

[2] And the LORD said to Gideon, "The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.'
[3] "Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, 'Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.'" And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.
[4] But the LORD said to Gideon, "The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, 'This one shall go with you,' the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, 'This one shall not go with you,' the same shall not go."
[5] So he brought the people down to the water. And the LORD said to Gideon, "Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink."
[6] And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water.
[7] Then the LORD said to Gideon, "By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place."
[8] So the people took provisions and their trumpets in their hands. And he sent away all the rest of Israel, every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men. Now the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.

하나님을 믿으면 알게 될 것이다
그분은 어떤 적도 이길 수 있다는 것을
단지 매일매일 그분을 믿으라
그분이 너에게 머물러 네 힘이 되실 것이다

하나님이 우리에게 불가능한 일을 맡기실 때,
그것은 가능한 일이 된다.

사사기 7:2-8

[2] 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 너를 좇은 백성이 너무 많은즉 내가 그들의 손에 미디안 사람을 붙이지 아니하리니 이는 이스라엘이 나를 거스려 자긍하기를 내 손이 나를 구원하였다 할까 함이니라
[3] 이제 너는 백성의 귀에 고하여 이르기를 누구든지 두려워서 떠는 자여든 길르앗 산에서 떠나 돌아가라 하라 하시니 이에 돌아간 백성이 이만 이천 명이요 남은 자가 일만 명이었더라
[4] 여호와께서 또 기드온에게 이르시되 백성이 아직도 많으니 그들을 인도하여 물가로 내려가라 거기서 내가 너를 위하여 그들을 시험하리라 무릇 내가 누구를 가리켜 이르기를 이가 너와 함께 가리라 하면 그는 너와 함께 갈 것이요 내가 누구를 가리켜 이르기를 이는 너와 함께 가지 말 것이니라 하면 그는 가지 말 것이니라
[5] 이에 백성을 인도하여 물 가에 내려가매 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 무릇 개의 핥는 것 같이 그 혀로 물을 핥는 자는 너는 따로 세우고 또 무릇 무릎을 꿇고 마시는 자도 그같이 하라 하시더니
[6] 손으로 움켜 입에 대고 핥는 자의 수는 삼백 명이요 그 외의 백성은 다 무릎을 꿇고 물을 마신지라
[7] 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 내가 이 물을 핥아 먹은 삼백 명으로 너희를 구원하며 미디안 사람을 네 손에 붙이리니 남은 백성은 각각 그 처소로 돌아갈 것이니라 하시니
[8] 이에 백성이 양식과 나팔을 손에 든지라 기드온이 이스라엘의 모든 사람을 각각 그 장막으로 돌려보내고 그 삼백 명은 머물러 두니라 미디안 진은 그 아래 골짜기 가운데 있었더라
