DINGO THE DOG		딩고라는 개
[ Philippians 2:1 - 2:4 ] - hymn 299 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also the interests of others. - Philippians 2:4 Harry Tupper is a fishing legend here in Idaho where I live. There's a spot on Henry's Lake over on the east side of the state that's named for him: "Tupper's Hole." The thing I remember most about Harry, aside from his rare ability to catch those huge Henry's Lake trout, was his dog, Dingo. Now there was a dog! Dingo used to sit alongside Harry in his boat and watch intently while he fished. When the old fisher-man hooked a trout, Dingo would bark furiously until the fish was netted and released. Dingo's enthusiasm taught me something: It's better to get more excited about what others are doing than what we are doing. So, as I read Philippians 2:4 and think about Dingo, I ask myself: Do I spend time thinking about "the interests of oth-ers"? Do I get as excited about what God is doing in and through a friend as I do about what He is doing in and through me? Do I long to see others grow in grace and fi-nd success, though it may have been my efforts that made them prosper? This is the measure of greatness, for we are most like God when our thoughts for ourselves are lost in our thoughts for others. Paul said it best: "Let each esteem others better than himself"(2:3). Is that how we live? - David Roper		[ 빌립보서 2:1 - 2:4 ] - 찬송가 299 장 각각 자기 일을 돌볼 뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌보아 - 빌립보서 2:4 내가 사는 이곳 아이다호 주에서 해리 터퍼는 전설적인 낚시꾼입니다. 아이다호 주 동부에 있는 헨리 호수에는 그의 이름을 따서 “터퍼의 낚시터”라고 불리는 지점이 있을 정도입니다. 헨리호의 거대한 송어를 낚는 그의 탁월한 실력 다음으로 가장 기억에 남는 것은 그의 개 딩고입니다. 정말 멋진 개였습니다! 딩고는 배 안에서 늘 해리 옆에 앉아 그가 낚시 하는 것을 계속 뚫어지게 쳐다보았습니다. 이 나이든 낚시꾼이 송어를 낚으면, 딩고는 해리가 그 물고기를 그물로 건졌다가 다시 놓아줄 때까지 요란하게 짖어댔습니다. 나는 딩고의 열정을 통해서 우리가 어떤 일을 할 때보다 다른 사람들이 하는 일에 더 기뻐하는 것이 낫다는 것을 배웠습니다. 그래서 나는 빌립보서 2장 4절을 읽을 때, 딩고가 생각나서 스스로에게 이렇게 물어봅니다. 나는 과연 “다른 사람들의 유익”을 생각하는 데 시간을 보내고 있는가? 하나님이 내 안에서 나를 통해 일하실 때 내가 기뻐하는 것처럼, 하나님이 친구 안에서 친구를 통해 일하시는 것을 보며 나는 기뻐하는가? 내 노력으로 다른 사람들이 더 잘 된다 하더라도 그들이 은혜 안에서 자라고 성공하는 것을 보기를 갈망하는가? 바로 이것이 위대함의 척도입니다. 왜냐하면 우리가 다른 이들의 유익을 구하느라 우리 자신을 잊어버릴 때, 우리는 하나님을 가장 많이 닮게 되기 때문입니다. 바울이 이를 가장 잘 표현했습니다. “각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기라”(2:3). 우리는 이렇게 살고 있습니까?

Philippians 2:1-4

[1] Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,
[2] fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
[3] Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
[4] Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

사랑은 다른 이가 느끼는 슬픔을 같이 느끼며
도와주기를 갈망하네
사랑은 좋은 소식을 들을 때마다
즉시 기뻐하네

주님과 다른 사람들을 향한 사랑으로 가득 찬 삶에는
참된 만족이 있다.

빌립보서 2:1-4

[1] 그러므로 그리스도 안에 무슨 권면이나 사랑에 무슨 위로나 성령의 무슨 교제나 긍휼이나 자비가 있거든
[2] 마음을 같이 하여 같은 사랑을 가지고 뜻을 합하며 한 마음을 품어
[3] 아무 일에든지 다툼이나 허영으로 하지 말고 오직 겸손한 마음으로 각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기고
[4] 각각 자기 일을 돌아볼 뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌아보아 나의 기쁨을 충만케 하라
