I'M GOOD		나는 선하다
[ Matthew 19:16 - 19:26 ] - hymn 393 [Jesus said,] "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."- Matthew 19:17 When someone asks, "How are you?" it has become common for the response to be, "I'm good." When we say this, we are really say-ing, "I'm well" or "I'm doing fine," speaking of our general well-being and not our character. I have answered with that response more times than I can count, but lately it has begun to bother me. Because, whether we real-ize it or not, we are saying something specific when we use the word good. Jesus once encountered a wealthy young man who called Him "Good Teacher"(Matt.19:16). The young man was right, for Jesus is both good (completely perfect) and the Teacher. He is the only One who can truly make that claim. The Lord, however, challenged the man to think about what he was saying in using that term good. "So He said to him, 'Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments'"(v.17). Jesus wanted the man to under-stand that the assertion he was making needed to be taken seriously. Jesus can be called "good" because He is God. Next time someone asks you, "How are you?" it is great to be able to say, "I'm well." But remember, only Jesus is good. -Bill Crowder		[ 마태복음 19:16 - 19:26 ] - 찬송가 393 장 예수께서 이르시되 어찌하여 선한 일을 내게 묻느냐 선한 이는 오직 한 분이시니라 네가 생명에 들어가려면 계명들을 지키라 - 마태복음 19:17 누가 “안녕하세요?”라고 인사하면, 그 대 답으로 “나는 좋습니다(I’m good).”라고 말하는 것이 일반화되어 있습니다. 우리가 이렇게 말할 때 사실 이 대답은 “나는 괜찮습니다.” 또는 “나는 잘 지냅니다.”라는 의미입니다. 우리가 대체로 지내기가 좋다는 뜻이지 우리의 품성이 좋다는 것은 아닙니다. 나도 셀 수 없을 만큼 많이 그렇게 대답했지만, 최근 들어 그것이 내 마음을 불편하게 만들기 시작했습니다. 우리가 ‘좋다(good)’라는 단어를 쓸 때에는 우리가 그것을 인식하고 있든 아니든 우리는 어떤 구체적인 것을 말하고 있기 때문입니다. 예수님은 자신을 “선한 선생님”이라고 불렀던 한 젊은 부자를 만난 적이 있습니다(마 19:16). 예수님은 선하시고(완벽하게 온전하시고) 또한 훌륭한 선생이시므로 그 젊은이의 말은 옳았습니다. 예수님은 진정 그렇게 불리실 수 있는 유일한 분이십니다. 그러나 주님은 그 젊은이로 하여금 그가 ‘선하다’라는 단어를 쓸 때, 그것이 무엇을 의미하는지를 생각해보도록 환기시키셨습니다. “예수께서 이르시되 어찌하여 선한 일을 내게 묻느냐 선한 이는 오직 한 분이시니라 네가 생명에 들어가려면 계명들을 지키라”(17절). 예수님은 그 젊은이가 자신이 하고 있는 주장이 진지하게 다뤄져야할 필요가 있음을 이해하기 원하셨습니다. 예수님은 하나님이시기 때문에 “선한”분으로 일컬어질 수 있습니다. 다음에 누군가가 “안녕하세요?”라고 인사하면, “나는 좋습니다.”가 아니라 “나는 잘 지냅니다.”라고 말할 수 있기를 바랍니다. 예수님만이 선하시다는 것을 기억하십시오.

God is great and God is good,
but without Him we are neither.

Matthew 19:16-26

[16] Now behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?"
[17] So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
[18] He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, " 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,'
[19] 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
[20] The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?"
[21] Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
[23] Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
[24] "And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
[25] When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?"
[26] But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

하나님의 귀한 독생자 예수 그리스도
유일하신 하나님아버지와 영원히 함께 하시네
그분 안에서 하나님의 완전하심을 볼 수 있으니
예수 그리스도는 하나님이시기 때문이라

하나님은 위대하시고 선하시다.
그러나 하나님 없이는 우리는 위대할 수도 선할 수도 없다.

마태복음 19:16-26

[16] 어떤 사람이 주께 와서 가로되 선생님이여 내가 무슨 선한 일을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까
[17] 예수께서 가라사대 어찌하여 선한 일을 내게 묻느냐 선한 이는 오직 한 분이시니라 네가 생명에 들어가려면 계명들을 지키라
[18] 가로되 어느 계명이오니이까 예수께서 가라사대 살인하지말라, 간음하지말라, 도적질하지 말라, 거짓 증거하지말라,
[19] 네 부모를 공경하라, 네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라 하신 것이니라
[20] 그 청년이 가로되 이 모든 것을 내가 지키었사오니 아직도 무엇이 부족하니이까
[21] 예수께서 가라사대 네가 온전하고자 할진대 가서 네 소유를 팔아 가난한 자들을 주라 그리하면 하늘에서 보화가 네게 있으리라 그리고 와서 나를 좇으라 하시니
[22] 그 청년이 재물이 많으므로 이 말씀을 듣고 근심하며 가니라
[23] 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 부자는 천국에 들어가기가 어려우니라
[24] 다시 너희에게 말하노니 약대가 바늘귀로 들어가는 것이 부자가 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 것보다 쉬우니라 하신대
[25] 제자들이 듣고 심히 놀라 가로되 그런즉 누가 구원을 얻을 수 있으리이까
[26] 예수께서 저희를 보시며 가라사대 사람으로는 할 수 없으되 하나님으로서는 다 할 수 있느니라
