When The Wind Blows		바람이 불 때
[ Romans 8:26 - 8:30 ] - hymn 454 Blessed be the ... God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. — 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Harold and Cathy and their two sons were in a wooded area in Minnesota when a tornado touched down. Cathy described her experience to me several years later: ¡°My husband and older son were some distance away, but my younger son and I took cover in a cabin. We heard a sound like a hundred railroad cars and instinctively dropped to the floor in a tucked position. The cabin began to break apart, and I shut my eyes because of all the flying debris. It felt like I was going up in an elevator and then was shot into the air. I landed in a lake and clung to debris to stay afloat.¡± Tragically, however, their younger son did not survive. Harold said of their loss: ¡°We cried every day for 6 weeks. But we believe that God¡¯s loving sovereignty allowed that tornado to come down where we were. And we also took comfort in the fact that our son knew the Lord.¡± When a loved one is taken and we are left behind, it can create all kinds of questions. In times like these, Romans 8:28 can be of great encouragement: ¡°We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.¡± This couple¡¯s trust in God¡¯s loving sovereignty brought them comfort in the midst of their grief(2 Cor.1:3-4).		[ 로마서 8:26 - 8:30 ] - 찬송가 454 장 찬송하리로다...자비의 아버지시요 모든 위로의 하나님이시며 - 고린도후서 1:3-4 해롤드와 그의 아내 캐씨, 그리고 두 아들이 미네소타의 수목이 울창한 지역에서 지내고 있었을 때 토네이도가 불어 닥쳤습니다. 캐씨는 그 당시의 경험을 몇 년 후 나에게 말해주었습니다. “남편과 큰 아들은 좀 떨어져 있었지만 작은 아들과 저는 통나무집으로 피했습니다. 우리는 마치 수백 개의 열차가 지나가는 것 같은 소리를 들으면서 본능적으로 몸을 움츠리고 땅바닥에 엎드렸습니다. 통나무집은 떨어져 나가기 시작했고 날아다니는 파편들 때문에 나는 눈을 감았습니다. 그러자 마치 엘리베이터를 타고 올라가는 것처럼 느껴지더니 공중으로 내동댕이쳐졌습니다. 나는 호수에 떨어졌고 물에 떠 있기 위해 나무 조각 하나에 매달렸습니다.” 그러나 애석하게도 작은 아들은 살아남지를 못했습니다. 해롤드는 아들을 잃은 것에 대해 이렇게 말했습니다. “우리는 6주 동안 매일 울었습니다. 하지만 우리는 그 토네이도가 우리가 머물고 있던 곳에 오게 되었던 것은 하나님의 주권적 섭리라고 믿게 되었습니다. 그리고 우리 아들이 주님을 영접했었다는 것으로 인해서도 위로를 받았습니다.” 사랑하는 사람이 하나님의 부르심을 받고 우리를 떠났을 때 온갖 질문이 떠오를 수 있습니다. 그런 때에는 로마서 8장 28절이 큰 격려가 될 수 있습니다. “우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니 라.” 이 부부가 가졌던 하나님의 주권적 섭리에 대한 믿음은 그들이 슬픔 가운데서도 위로를 얻을 수 있게 하였습니다(고후 1:3-4).

When grief overwhelms our soul,
The Savior who gave Himself on the cross
Reminds us that He¡¯s in control. — D. De Haan

Our greatest comfort in sorrow is to know that God is in control.

Romans 8:26-30

[26] Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
[27] Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
[28] And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
[29] For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
[30] Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

가슴을 찢는 상실이 계속될 때
슬픔이 우리의 영혼을 사로잡을 때
자신을 십자가에 내어 주신 구세주는
그가 모든 것을 주관하고 계심을 일깨워주신다

슬플 때의 가장 큰 위로는
하나님께서 모든 것을 주관하고 계심을 아는 것이다.

로마서 8:26-30

[26] 이와 같이 성령도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니 우리는 마땅히 기도할 바를 알지 못하나 오직 성령이 말할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 위하여 친히 간구하시느니라
[27] 마음을 살피시는 이가 성령의 생각을 아시나니 이는 성령이 하나님의 뜻대로 성도를 위하여 간구하심이니라
[28] 우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라
[29] 하나님이 미리 아신 자들을 또한 그 아들의 형상을 본받게 하기 위하여 미리 정하셨으니 이는 그로 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되게 하려 하심이니라
[30] 또 미리 정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라
