[ Matthew 23:23 - 23:31 ] - hymn 93 Love from a pure heart ... and from sincere faith. — 1 Timothy 1:5 While we were out for a family drive, a spotless white sign with perfect red lettering caught my attention: ¡°Gutters and Windows—Quality Work Guaranteed.¡± The sign was pristine, but I feared the house and barn directly behind it might collapse at any moment. The paint was peeling, the windows were cracked, and the gutters were nonexistent! Many of us ¡°advertise¡± for Jesus, but our spiritual houses are in disrepair. We may attend church, speak in ¡°Christianese,¡± and mingle nicely with others. But when our conduct does not align with our hearts, our first-class behavior is just a performance of piety. When Jesus confronted the Pharisees, He said, ¡°You ... outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness¡±(Matt.23:28). Jesus had a different but equally direct message for His followers: ¡°Do not be like the hypocrites¡±(6:16). The Bible encourages us to ¡°love from a pure heart ... and from sincere faith¡±(1 Tim.1:5). These inner attitudes should pour out through our words and actions (Luke 6:45). Today, consider the state of your spiritual house. If people look beyond the beautiful outward display, will they discover an authentic heart?		[ 마태복음 23:23 - 23:31 ] - 찬송가 93 장 경계의 목적은 청결한 마음과 선한 양심과 거짓이 없는 믿음으로 나는 사랑이거늘 - 디모데전서 1:5 가족과 함께 드라이브를 하고 있는데, 한점의 티도 없이 하얀 광고판에 매우 짙은 빨간 글씨로 “지붕물받이와 창문 - 양질의 작업을 보증합니다.”라는 광고가 내 시선을 사로잡았습니다. 그 광고판은 기가 막히게 깨끗했는데 바로 그 뒤에 있는 집과 창고는 금방이라도 무너질 것처럼 보였습니다. 페인트는 벗겨져 가고 있었으며 창문들은 금이 가 있었고 지붕물받이는 아예 없었습니다! 우리 중 많은 사람들이 예수님을 “광고”하지만 정작 우리의 영적인 집은 허물어져 가고 있습니다. 우리는 매주 교회에 나가고 “믿는 사람의 언어”를 사용하며 다른 사람들과도 잘 어울려 지낼지도 모릅니다. 그러나 우리의 행위가 마음으로부터 나오지 않으면 우리가 행하는 훌륭한 행위도 경건을 가장한 연기에 불과합니다. 예수님께서는 바리새인들과 대면하셨을 때 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “이와 같이 너희도 겉으로는 사람에게 옳게 보이되 안으로는 외식과 불법이 가득하도다”(마 23:28). 예수님께서는 그분을 따르는 모든 사람들에게 내용은 다르지만 누구에게나 똑같이 직설적으로 말씀하셨습니다. “너희는 외식하는 자들과 같지 말라”(6:16). 성경은 우리들에게 다음과 같이 촉구하고 있습니다. “청결한 마음과 선한 양심과 거짓이 없는 믿음으로 사랑하라”(딤전 1:5). 이와 같은 내적인 태도는 말과 행동을 통해 쏟아져 나와야 합니다(눅 6:45). 오늘, 우리는 자신의 영적인 집을 점검해 볼 필요가 있습니다. 사람들이 우리의 외적으로 아름다운 행위 너머에서 거짓 없이 진실한 마음을 발견할 수 있을까요?

Hypocrisy is a common sin

God desires that our actions be a reflection of a pure heart.

Matthew 23:23-31

[23] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
[24] "Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!
[25] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.
[26] "Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.
[27] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.
[28] "Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
[29] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
[30] "and say, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.'
[31] "Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.

위선은 늘 범하기 쉬운 죄라
하늘에 계신 주님을 슬프게 하네
주님은 믿음과 진실과 사랑으로
그를 예배하는 자들을 기다리시네

하나님은 우리의 행위가 진실한 마음에서 나타나기를 원하신다.

마태복음 23:23-31

[23] 화 있을진저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 너희가 박하와 회향과 근채의 십일조는 드리되 율법의 더 중한 바 정의와 긍휼과 믿음은 버렸도다 그러나 이것도 행하고 저것도 버리지 말아야 할지니라
[24] 맹인 된 인도자여 하루살이는 걸러 내고 낙타는 삼키는도다
[25] 화 있을진저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 잔과 대접의 겉은 깨끗이 하되 그 안에는 탐욕과 방탕으로 가득하게 하는도다
[26] 눈 먼 바리새인이여 너는 먼저 안을 깨끗이 하라 그리하면 겉도 깨끗하리라
[27] 화 있을진저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 회칠한 무덤 같으니 겉으로는 아름답게 보이나 그 안에는 죽은 사람의 뼈와 모든 더러운 것이 가득하도다
[28] 이와같이 너희도 겉으로는 사람에게 옳게 보이되 안으로는 외식과 불법이 가득하도다
[29] 화 있을진저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 너희는 선지자들의 무덤을 만들고 의인들의 비석을 꾸미며 이르되
[30] 만일 우리가 조상 때에 있었더라면 우리는 그들이 선지자의 피를 흘리는데 참여하지 아니하였으리라 하니
[31] 그러면 너희가 선지자를 죽인 자의 자손임을 스스로 증명함이로다
