[ Hebrews 11:1 - 11:10 ] - hymn 85 [God] is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. — Hebrews 11:6 One of my nephews brought a book of Magic Eye images to a family gathering. Magic Eye images look like ordinary two-dimensional patterns, but when viewed in a certain way, the flat surface appears three-dimensional. We took turns trying to train our eyes to make the three-dimensional image pop out. One family member had trouble seeing the extra dimension. Several times I noticed he had the book open, looking at it from all different distances and directions. But even though he couldn¡¯t see the hidden image, he believed it was there because others had seen it. His persistence made me think about the importance of having the same tenacity in matters of faith. The danger for those who doubt is that they stop looking for God because they believe He can¡¯t be found. Moses warned the Israelites that future generations would wander from God. He promised, however, that those who seek God with all their heart and soul will find Him (Deut.4:29). The book of Hebrews confirms that God rewards those who diligently seek Him (11:6). If you struggle to believe, remember: Just because you don¡¯t see God doesn¡¯t mean He doesn¡¯t exist. He promises to be found by those who seek Him.		[ 히브리서 11:1 - 11:10 ] - 찬송가 85 장 하나님께 나아가는 자는 ... 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라 - 히브리서 11:6 조카들 중 하나가 가족들이 모인 자리에 입체그림들을 모은 책을 가지고 왔습니다. 입체그림들은 얼른 보기에는 보통 그림처럼 보이지만, 보는 방식에 따라 평면이 입체로 보입니다. 우리는 돌아가면서 보통그림이 입체그림으로 튀어 나와 보이도록 각자의 눈을 훈련했습니다. 그런데 가족들 가운데 한 사람에게는 그 일이 쉽지 않았습니다. 내가 알기에도 여러 번 그는 책을 펼쳐들고 눈 거리도 맞추어보고, 보는 방향도 바꾸어가며 시도해 보았습니다. 하지만 끝내 입체그림을 보지 못했음에도 불구하고 그는 다른 이들이 보았기 때문에 거기에 입체그림이 있다고 믿었습니다. 나는 그가 쉽게 포기하지 않고 계속 노력하는 모습을 보면서 믿음에 있어서도 그와 같은 집요함을 지니는 것이 중요하다는 사실을 생각하게 되었습니다. 의심을 품고 신앙생활을 하는 사람들이 빠지는 위험은 하나님을 만나는 일이 불가능하다고 생각하기 때문에 하나님을 추구하는 일을 중단하기 쉽다는 것입니다. 모세는 이스라엘 사람들에게 그들의 후손들이 하나님을 떠나 방황하리라고 경고하였습니다. 그러나 그는 만일 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 하나님을 구하면 그를 분명히 만날 수 있다고 말하였습니다(신 4:29). 하나님은 끊임없이 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상을 주시는 분이시라는 것을 히브리서가 확인해 주고 있습니다(11:6). 믿어지지 않아서 힘들어하는 사람들은 명심하시기 바랍니다. 하나님을 눈으로 볼 수 없다고 해서 하나님이 안 계신 것은 아닙니다. 하나님은 당신을 찾는 자들에게 나타나 주시겠다고 약속하셨습니다.

Because God is great, He will be sought;
because God is good, He will be found.

Hebrews 11:1-10

[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2] For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
[3] By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
[4] By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
[5] By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
[6] But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
[7] By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
[8] By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
[9] By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
[10] for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

하나님이 정말 계신지를 알기 위해
내 온 마음을 다해 찾으니
감사하게도 그는 자신과, 자비와 사랑
그리고 돌보아 주심을 나에게 보여 주셨네

하나님은 위대하시기에 그를 찾게 되며,
그는 선하시기에 응답해 주신다.

히브리서 11:1-10

[1] 믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보지 못하는 것들의 증언니
[2] 선진들이 이로써 증거를 얻었으니라
[3] 믿음으로 모든 세계가 하나님의 말씀으로 지어진 줄을 우리가 아나니 보이는 것은 나타난 것으로 말미암아 된 것이 아니니라
[4] 믿음으로 아벨은 가인보다 더 나은 제사를 하나님께 드림으로 의로운 자라 하시는 증거를 얻었으니 하나님이 그 예물에 대하여 증언하심이라 그가 죽었으나 그 믿음으로써 지금도 말하느니라
[5] 믿음으로 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 옮겨졌으니 하나님이 그를 옮기심으로 다시 보이지 아니하였느니라 그는 옮겨지기 전에 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 자라 하는 증거를 받았느니라
[6] 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라
[7] 믿음으로 노아는 아직 보이지 않는 일에 경고하심을 받아 경외함으로 방주를 준비하여 그 집을 구원하였으니 이로 말미암아 세상을 정죄하고 믿음을 따르는 의의 상속자가 되었느니라
[8] 믿음으로 아브라함은 부르심을 받았을 때에 순종하여 장래의 유업으로 받을 땅에 나아갈새 갈 바를 알지 못하고 나아갔으며
[9] 믿음으로 그가 이방의 땅에 있는 것 같이 약속의 땅에 거류하여 동일한 약속을 유업으로 함께 받은 이삭과 야곱과 더불어 장막에 거하였으니
[10] 이는 그가 하나님이 계획하시고 지으실 터가 있는 성을 바랐음이라
