[ Proverbs 2:1 - 2:9 ] - hymn 240 ... seek [wisdom] as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures. — Proverbs 2:4 When my husband, Carl, pursued a relationship with me while we were dating, he was serious about it. He called. He wrote notes. He asked thoughtful questions. He bought me flowers, candy, books, dinner, and other gifts. He spent a lot of time and effort in his pursuit of me. Way back in the 10th century bc, Solomon recommended that kind of serious commitment when pursuing something else—wisdom. A dictionary definition of wisdom, ¡°understanding what is true, right, or lasting,¡± sounds crucial if we want a life that glorifies our holy God. Maybe that¡¯s why Solomon used so many active verbs in Proverbs 2 to describe our needed efforts to gain wisdom. He said, ¡°incline your ear,¡± ¡°apply your heart,¡± ¡°cry out,¡± ¡°lift up your voice,¡± ¡°seek her,¡± ¡°search for her¡±(vv.2-4). Seeking wisdom takes effort, and Scripture tells us where it can be found: ¡°For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.¡± He isn¡¯t storing up wisdom for Himself; ¡°He stores up sound wisdom for the upright¡±(vv.6-7). Seek God with all your heart. He is the source of all wisdom for your life.		[ 잠언 2:1 - 2:9 ] - 찬송가 240 장 은을 구하는 것 같이 그것을 구하며 감추인 보배를 찾는 것같이 그것을 찾으면-잠언 2:4 내 남편 칼은 우리가 결혼 전에 사귀는 동안 나와의 관계에 대해 매우 진지하였습니다. 그는 전화를 했고, 메모 쪽지를 보냈고, 사려 깊은 질문도 했습니다. 또 내게 꽃이나 사탕, 책을 주었고 저녁식사와 다른 선물들을 사주었습니다. 그는 나를 쫓아다니느라 많은 시간과 노력을 쏟았습니다. 기원전 10세기로 돌아 가봅시다. 솔로몬은 또 다른 것 즉, 지혜를 추구할 때 그와 같은 진지한 헌신을 할 것을 권하고 있습니다. 우리가 거룩하신 하나님을 영화롭게 하는 삶을 살기를 원한다면 “무엇이 진실 되고, 올바르며 영속적인 것인지 이해하는 것”이라는 사전적 의미의 지혜가 대단히 중요합니다. 아마도 그것이 솔로몬이 잠언 2장에서 지혜를 얻기 위해 우리가 노력해야 할 일들에 대해 쓰면서 행위 동사를 많이 썼던 이유일 것입니다. 그는 “귀를 기울이며”, “내 마음을 명철에 두며”, “불러 구하며”, “소리를 높이며”, “그것을 찾으며”, “그것을 구하며”(2-4절)라고 말했습니다. 지혜를 얻기 위해서는 노력을 해야 합니다. 성경은 어디서 지혜를 찾을 수 있는지를 말해줍니다: “대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며.” 그는 자신을 위해 지혜를 예비하시지 않으십니다. “그는 정직한 자를 위하여 완전한 지혜를 예비”(6-7절) 하십니다. 온 마음을 다하여 여호와를 찾으십시오. 그분은 당신 삶의 모든 지혜의 근원입니다.

but true wisdom comes only from God.

Proverbs 2:1-9

[1] My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
[2] So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
[3] Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding,
[4] If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures;
[5] Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.
[6] For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
[7] He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
[8] He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.
[9] Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.

위대한 세상적인 지혜를 얻는다 할지라도
지식을 구하느라
하나님의 지혜를 얻는데 실패하고 만다면
이 세상 삶이 끝날 때 무엇이 유익할 것인가?

당신은 많은 지식을 얻을 수 있지만,
참 지혜는 오직 하나님으로부터 온다.

잠언 2:1-9

[1] 내 아들아 네가 만일 나의 말을 받으며 나의 계명을 네게 간직하며
[2] 네 귀를 지혜에 기울이며 네 마음을 명철에 두며
[3] 지식을 불러 구하며 명철을 얻으려고 소리를 높이며
[4] 은을 구하는 것 같이 그것을 구하며 감추어진 보배를 찾는 것 같이 그것을 찾으면
[5] 여호와 경외하기를 깨달으며 하나님을 알게 되리니
[6] 대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며
[7] 그는 정직한 자를 위하여 완전한 지혜를 예비하시며 행실이 온전한 자에게 방패가 되시나니
[8] 대저 그는 정의의 길을 보호하며 그의 성도들의 길을 보전하려 하심이니라
[9] 그런즉 네가 공의와 정의와 정직 곧 모든 선한 길을 깨달을 것이라
