A Lasting Imprint		영원한 흔적
[ Matthew 5:13 - 5:20 ] - hymn 296 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. — Matthew 5:16 Caerleon is a Welsh village with deep historical roots. It was one of three sites in the United Kingdom where Roman legions were posted during Rome¡¯s occupation of Britain. While the military presence ended some 1,500 years ago, the imprint of that occupation can still be seen today. People come from all over the world to visit the military fort, the barracks, and the amphitheatre that are reminders of the days when Rome ruled the world and occupied Wales. It amazes me that 15 centuries later, the evidence of Rome¡¯s presence can still so clearly be seen in that small community. I wonder, though, about another kind of imprint—the imprint of Christ on our lives. Do we allow His presence to be clearly seen by others? Is it possible for people who interact with us to know that Jesus occupies our lives? Jesus calls us to make known His presence in our lives to the glory of God the Father. He says, ¡°Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven¡±(Matt.5:16). Through the light of our testimony and the impact of our deeds of service, people should be able to see evidence of the presence of God in our lives. Is it true? Can they see His imprint?		[ 마태복음 5:13 - 5:20 ] - 찬송가 296 장 이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라－마태복음 5:1 카엘레온은 영국 웨일즈 지방에 있는 역사적으로 뿌리가 깊은 마을입니다. 로마가 영국을 점령하였을 당시 로마 군단이 영국에 주둔하였던 세 장소 중 한 곳입니다. 로마군대의 주둔은 약 1500년 전에 끝났지만, 그들이 점령했던 흔적은 오늘날에도 볼 수 있습니다. 로마가 세계를 지배하고 웨일즈를 점령했던 당시를 상기시켜 주는 성곽, 병영, 원형경기장 등을 보기 위해 세계 곳곳에서 사람들이 관광을 옵니다. 이 작은 마을에 로마군대가 존재했었다는 증거들을 15세기가 지난 아직까지 매우 분명하게 볼 수 있다는 사실이 나에게는 신기하게만 느껴집니다. 나는 또 다른 종류의 흔적을 한번 생각해봅니다. 그것은 바로 우리의 삶속에 새겨진 그리스도의 흔적입니다. 우리는 주님이 우리와 함께 계시는 것을 다른 사람들에게 분명히 보여주고 있습니까? 예수님이 우리의 삶속에 거주하고 계시다는 것을 우리와 만나는 사람들이 알 수 있습니까? 예수님은 우리의 삶속에 하나님이 함께 하심을 보여주어 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리라고 우리에게 명령하십니다. “이같이 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라”(마 5:16). 우리가 증언하는 빛과 섬기는 우리 행실의 결과를 통해, 사람들은 우리의 삶속에 하나님이 임재 하신다는 증거를 볼 수 있어야 합니다. 정말 그렇게 살고 있습니까? 그들이 하나님의 흔적을 볼 수 있습니까?

Matthew 5:13-20

[13] "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
[14] "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15] "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
[16] "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
[17] "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
[18] "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
[19] "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

그리스도를 영화롭게 하고
우리에게 베푸신 주님의 은혜가 더욱 커지도록
주님의 생명의 말씀이 모든 사람들에게 알려져야 하네
오직 이것만이 우리가 해야 할 일이네

당신의 증언을 세상 모든 사람들이 늘 볼 수 있도록
아주 크게 기록하라.

마태복음 5:13-20

[13] 너희는 세상의 소금이니 소금이 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요 후에는 아무 쓸 데 없어 다만 밖에 버려져 사람에게 밟힐 뿐이니라
[14] 너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요
[15] 사람이 등불을 켜서 말 아래에 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이러므로 집 안 모든 사람에게 비치느니라
[16] 이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라
[17] 내가 율법이나 선지자를 폐하러 온 줄로 생각하지 말라 폐하러 온 것이 아니요 완전하게 하려 함이라
[18] 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 천지가 없어지기 전에는 율법의 일점 일획도 결코 없어지지 아니하고 다 이루리라
[19] 그러므로 누구든지 이 계명 중의 지극히 작은 것 하나라도 버리고 또 그같이 사람을 가르치는 자는 천국에서 지극히 작다 일컬음을 받을 것이요 누구든지 이를 행하며 가르치는 자는 천국에서 크다 일컬음을 받으리라
[20] 내가 너희에게 이르노니 너희 의가 서기관과 바리새인보다 더 낫지 못하면 결코 천국에 들어가지 못하리라
