Keeping Busy?		바쁘십니까?
[ Matthew 11:25 - 11:30 ] - hymn 483 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28 People who are trying to be friendly sometimes ask, ¡°Are you keeping busy?¡± The question seems harmless, but in my mind it carries a subtle message. Beneath the surface is a test of personal value. If I can¡¯t rattle off a list of things I have to do, I feel as if I¡¯m admitting that I¡¯m not worth much. But does God determine our value by how busy we are? Does He calculate our worth by how much we accomplish? Does He reward us for living on the edge of exhaustion and not taking care of ourselves? One of the first verses I learned as a child was Matthew 11:28, ¡°Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.¡± It didn¡¯t mean much to me at the time because I didn¡¯t understand weariness. But now that I¡¯m older, I feel the temptation to keep pace with the world so I won¡¯t be left behind. But followers of Jesus don¡¯t have to live like that. Not only has He released us from slavery to sin but also from the bondage of having to prove our worth. Accomplishing a lot for God may make us feel important, but what makes us important to God is what we allow Him to accomplish in us—conforming us into the image of His Son (Rom. 8:28-30).		[ 마태복음 11:25 - 11:30 ] - 찬송가 483 장 수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라 - 마태복음 11:28 사람들은 종종 호의를 보이기 위해 “바쁘시죠?”라고 묻습니다. 이 질문이 악의는 없어 보이지만, 내 마음속에 묘한 의미를 전달합니다. 이 질문의 저변에는 개인의 가치에 대한 평가가 깔려 있습니다. 할 일들을 줄줄 늘어놓지 못할 경우에는 내가 별로 가치없는 사람이라고 인정하는 것처럼 여겨집니다. 하지만 하나님이 우리가 얼마나 바쁜가로 우리를 평가하시는 분이신가요? 우리가 얼마나 많이 성취했는가에 따라 우리의 가치를 계산하시는 분이시고, 우리가 우리 자신은 돌보지 않고 벼랑 끝까지 지치도록 살았다고 해서 우리에게 상주시는 분이신가요? 내가 어려서 처음 배운 성경구절 중 하나가 “수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라”는 마태복음 11장 28절 말씀이었습니다. 당시에는 ‘지쳐있다’는 말을 이해하지 못했기 때문에 이 말씀이 마음에 크게 와 닿지는 못했습니다. 그러나 나이가 든 지금 나는 뒤쳐지지 않기 위해 세상에 맞추어 살아가려는 유혹을 느낍니다. 그러나 예수님을 따르는 사람들은 그렇게 살지 않아도 됩니다. 예수님은 우리를 죄의 노예 상태에서 해방시켜주셨을 뿐만 아니라, 우리의 가치를 입증해보이려는 굴레로부터도 해방시켜주셨기 때문입니다. 하나님을 위한 일을 많이 이루다보면 스스로가 중요한 존재로 여겨질 수도 있습니다. 하지만 우리가 하나님께 중요해진다는 의미는 하나님께서 우리를 통해 이루시도록, 즉 우리가 하나님 아들의 형상을 본받는 걸 뜻합니다(롬 8:28-30).

Our value is not measured by what we do for God but by what He has done in us.

Matthew 11:25-30

[25] At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.
[26] "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
[27] "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
[28] "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
[30] "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

예수님의 발 앞에서 잠시 쉴 틈조차 없는
그런 바쁜 수고를 주님은 요구치 않으시네
기대하며 기다리는 우리의 모습을
주님은 가장 완전한 섬김으로 여기곤 하시네

우리의 가치는 우리가 하나님을 위해 행한 일이 아니라,
하나님이 우리를 통해서 이루신 일들로 결정된다.

마태복음 11:25-30

[25] 그 때에 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 천지의 주재이신 아버지여 이것을 지혜롭고 슬기 있는 자들에게는 숨기시고 어린 아이들에게는 나타내심을 감사하나이다
[26] 옳소이다 이렇게 된 것이 아버지의 뜻이니이다
[27] 내 아버지께서 모든 것을 내게 주셨으니 아버지 외에는 아들을 아는 자가 없고 아들과 또 아들의 소원대로 계시를 받는 자 외에는 아버지를 아는 자가 없느니라
[28] 수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라
[29] 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그리하면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니
[30] 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라
