[ Genesis 1:20 - 1:28 ] - hymn 75 The waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. - Genesis 1:10 The other day I ran across a troubling report about people who think it is acceptable to use the ocean as a giant garbage dump. Here is an excerpt: ¡°If you should see this amazing floating pile of plastic in the Pacific Ocean, it¡¯s called ¡®The Great Pacific Garbage Patch.¡¯ It features three million tons of plastic debris floating in an area larger than Texas. An eye-popping 46,000 pieces of plastic float on every square mile of ocean!¡± Other sources estimate the amount of garbage is even bigger. Plastic is especially bad because it does not dissolve. During our sojourn on earth, we have been charged, like Adam, with taking care of the earth and its creatures that God has given us. Genesis 2:15 says, ¡°The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.¡± God delights in what He has made and this extends to the sea and all that live in it (1:10,20-21). This world should remind us of the greatness of our Creator and serve as a springboard of praise to Him. Indifferently using it as a garbage dump mars its beauty and threatens the creatures that live here. Showing respect and caring for the land, the ocean, and the air is our duty as believers in Christ.		[ 창세기 1:20 - 1:28 ] - 찬송가 75 장 하나님이...물을 바다라 칭하시니라 하나님의 보시기에 좋았더라－창세기 1:10 일전에 나는 바다를 거대한 쓰레기 투기장으로 사용하는 것도 괜찮다고 생각하는 사람들에 대한 걱정스러운 보고서를 접하게 되었습니다. 다음은 그 보고서의 발췌 내용입니다. “당신이 태평양에서 물에 떠있는 이 놀라운 플라스틱 더미를 발견한다면, 그것은‘대 태평양 쓰레기 구역’이라 불리는 것입니다. 그것은 텍사스 주보다 더 큰 지역에 3백만 톤의 플라스틱 조각들이 떠있는 형국입니다. 놀랍게도 가로세로 1.6킬로미터 넓이당 46,000 개의 플라스틱 조각들이 떠있는 것이지요!” 하지만 다른 자료들에 의하면 쓰레기의 양이 이보다 훨씬 더 많다고 합니다. 플라스틱은 분해되지 않기 때문에 특히 나쁩니다. 우리가 이 땅에 머무는 동안 우리는 아담처럼 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 지구와 생명체들을 보살펴야 합니다. 창세기 2장 15절은 “여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 에덴동산에 두사 그것을 다스리며 지키게 하시고”라고 말합니다. 하나님은 그분이 만드신 모든 것을 기뻐하시는데, 거기에는 바다와 그 안에 있는 모든 생명체들도 포함됩니다(1:10,20-21). 이 세상은 우리 창조주의 위대하심을 우리에게 일깨워주며, 하나님을 찬양하는 도약대 역할을 해야 합니다. 무감각하게 지구를 쓰레기장으로 사용하는 것은 지구의 아름다움을 해치고 지구상에 사는 생명체들을 위협하는 것입니다. 육지와 바다와 대기를 존중하고 보살피는 것은 그리스도를 믿는 성도로서 우리의 의무입니다.

Caring for God¡¯s creation is the believer¡¯s duty.

Genesis 1:20-28; 2:15

[20] Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens."
[21] So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[22] And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
[23] So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
[24] Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so.
[25] And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
[26] Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
[27] So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
[28] Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

[2:15] Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

하나님이 만드신 자연세계는
인간의 변덕대로 이용되어서는 안 된다
우리에게는 하나님께서 지으신 지구의
청지기로 봉사할 책임이 있다

하나님의 창조물을 보살피는 것은 성도의 의무이다.

창세기 1:20-28; 2:15

[20] 하나님이 이르시되 물들은 생물을 번성하게 하라 땅 위 하늘의 궁창에는 새가 날으라 하시고
[21] 하나님이 큰 바다 짐승들과 물에서 번성하여 움직이는 모든 생물을 그 종류대로, 날개 있는 모든 새를 그 종류대로 창조하시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
[22] 하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 여러 바닷물에 충만하라 새들도 땅에 번성하라 하시니라
[23] 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 다섯째 날이니라
[24] 하나님이 이르시되 땅은 생물을 그 종류대로 내되 가축과 기는 것과 땅의 짐승을 종류대로 내라 하시니 그대로 되니라
[25] 하나님이 땅의 짐승을 그 종류대로, 가축을 그 종류대로, 땅에 기는 모든 것을 그 종류대로 만드시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라
[26] 하나님이 이르시되 우리의 형상을 따라 우리의 모양대로 우리가 사람을 만들고 그들로 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 가축과 온 땅과 땅에 기는 모든 것을 다스리게 하자 하시고
[27] 하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고
[28] 하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 하나님이 그들에게 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만 하라, 땅을 정복하라, 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 땅에 움직이는 모든 생물을 다스리라 하시니라

[2:15] 여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 에덴 동산에 두어 그것을 경작하며 지키게 하시고
