[ Romans 1:8 - 1:16 ] - hymn 372 I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. - Romans 1:16 I was excited about going to the baseball park to watch the Detroit Tigers play the Chicago White Sox. I proudly put on my Tigers T-shirt that morning before going to the opposing team¡¯s stadium. But I had to wear a sweatshirt over my team¡¯s shirt because it was cool outside. So I was disappointed that no one at U.S. Cellular Field could see which team I was there to cheer for. No one knew I was a Tigers¡¯ fan. After a 3-hour rain delay, the game finally started and I could cheer for my team and get my loyalty out in the open. The apostle Paul had a loyalty that was most definitely out in the open—a loyalty to Jesus Christ. He wrote to the believers in Rome, ¡°I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ¡± (Rom. 1:16). He knew that the gospel was ¡°the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes¡± because Jesus had dramatically changed his life and its direction. In his preaching and witnessing, he proclaimed Jesus, the One to whom he had given his whole life (Acts 9). The believers in Rome were also known for their allegiance to Christ. Paul said of them: ¡°Your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world¡±(Rom.1:8). Is your loyalty to Jesus out in the open?		[ 로마서 1:8 - 1:16 ] - 찬송가 372 장 내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라－로마서 1:16 디트로이트 타이거즈팀과 시카고 화이트 삭스팀 간의 경기를 보기 위해 야구장에 가는 것 때문에 나는 흥분을 감추지 못했습니다. 경기 당일 아침 상대팀의 야구장으로 가기 전에 나는 자랑스럽게 타이거즈팀 티셔츠를 입었습니다. 그러나 쌀쌀한 날씨로 티셔츠 위에 운동복을 덧입어야 했기 때문에 실망스럽게도 유에스 셀룰라 구장의 그 누구도 내가 어느 팀을 응원하러 왔는지 몰랐습니다. 아무도 내가 타이거즈팀의 팬인지 몰랐던 것입니다. 비로 인해 3시간이나 지연되고 나서야 마침내 야구경기가 시작되자 나는 나의 팀을 위해 응원할 수 있었으며 공개적으로 충성심을 드러낼 수 있었습니다. 바울사도는 가장 확실하게 공개적으로 예수 그리스도에 대한 충성심을 나타냈습니다. 그는 로마의 성도들에게 “내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니”(롬 1:16)라고 썼습니다. 그는 예수님이 자신의 삶과 인생의 방향을 극적으로 변화시켰기 때문에 복음이 “모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력”이라는 것을 알았습니다. 그는 자신의 설교와 간증 속에서 자신의 인생 모두를 드린 그 분 예수님을 선포하였습니다(행 9장). 로마의 성도들도 그리스도에 대한 그들의 충성심으로 잘 알려져 있었습니다. 바울은 그들에 대해 “너희 믿음이 온 세상에 전파됨이로다”(롬 1:8)라고 하였습니다. 예수님에 대한 당신의 충성심이 겉으로 드러나고 있습니까?

Our loyalty to Jesus should be seen and heard in our lives.

Romans 1:8-16

[8] First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
[9] For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,
[10] making request if, by some means, now at last I may find a way in the will of God to come to you.
[11] For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established--
[12] that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
[13] Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles.
[14] I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise.
[15] So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

하나님은 우리를 이 어두운 세상에 두셔서
빛의 아들들로 빛나게 하시네
그러므로 항상 진리를 가르치며
우리의 색깔들을 밝게 드러내세

예수님에 대한 우리의 충성심이
우리 인생 속에서 남들에게 보이고 들려야 한다.

로마서 1:8-16

[8] 먼저 내가 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 너희 모든 사람에 관하여 내 하나님께 감사함은 너희 믿음이 온 세상에 전파됨이로다
[9] 내가 그의 아들의 복음 안에서 내 심령으로 섬기는 하나님이 나의 증인이 되시거니와 항상 내 기도에 쉬지 않고 너희를 말하며
[10] 어떻게 하든지 이제 하나님의 뜻 안에서 너희에게로 나아갈 좋은 길 얻기를 구하노라
[11] 내가 너희 보기를 간절히 원하는 것은 어떤 신령한 은사를 너희에게 나누어 주어 너희를 견고하게 하려 함이니
[12] 이는 곧 내가 너희 가운데서 너희와 나의 믿음으로 말미암아 피차 안위함을 얻으려 함이라
[13] 형제들아 내가 여러 번 너희에게 가고자 한 것을 너희가 모르기를 원하지 아니하노니 이는 너희 중에서도 다른 이방인 중에서와 같이 열매를 맺게 하려 함이로되 지금까지 길이 막혔도다
[14] 헬라인이나 야만인이나 지혜 있는 자나 어리석은 자에게 다 내가 빚진 자라
[15] 그러므로 나는 할 수 있는 대로 로마에 있는 너희에게도 복음 전하기를 원하노라
[16] 내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라 먼저는 유대인에게요 그리고 헬라인에게로다
