Bridging The Gap		간격 메우기
[ John 1:10 - 1:18 ] - hymn 46 The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. - John 1:14 When my kids were young, I thought they would be impressed with what few accomplishments I may have had—that they would read my books and be impressed by my speaking engagements. But then I discovered that they hadn¡¯t read any of my books and had no idea where I had been on a speaking gig. When my oldest son finally read one of my books, he told me that the only reason he read it was so that I would stop telling people that my children have never read my books! Let¡¯s face it—for the most part, kids are not impressed with our accomplishments. So the only way to bridge the gap is to meet them where they are, to get into their world—like getting into a game of Chutes and Ladders or playing catch in the backyard. Jesus did this with us. John said of Jesus, ¡°the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory¡± (John 1:14). In other words, He stooped down to our level when He came to this earth, which led to His greatest accomplishment of all: bridging the gap between His world and ours once and for all. Only then could we begin to understand how worthy He is of our utmost adoration and praise!		[ 요한복음 1:10 - 1:18 ] - 찬송가 46 장 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리가운데 거하시매－요한복음 1:14 아이들이 어렸을 때 나는 내가 이루어놓은 몇 가지 업적들에 아이들이 감명 받으리라고 생각했습니다. 즉 아이들이 내가 쓴 책들을 읽고, 내 강연에 감명을 받으리라고 생각했던 것이지요. 그러나 나중에 나는 그들이 내 책을 아예 읽지 않았고, 내가 어디로 강연을 다녔는지도 전혀 모른다는 사실을 알게 되었습니다. 큰아들이 마침내 내 책을 한 권 읽더니, 단지 내가 다른 사람들에게 내 자식들이 내 책을 전혀 읽지 않는다고 더 이상 말하지 못하게 하려고 책을 읽었다고 내게 말했습니다! 현실을 직시하시기 바랍니다. 대부분의 경우 아이들은 부모의 업적에 감명 받지 않습니다. 그들과의 간격을 메워주는 유일한 방법은 그들이 현재 있는 곳에서 그들을 만나고, 미끄럼 사다리 게임이나 뒤뜰에서 술래잡기 놀이를 하면서 아이들의 세계로 직접 들어가는 것입니다. 예수님은 우리에게 그렇게 하셨습니다. 요한은 예수님에 대해 “말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그 영광을 보니”(요 1:14) 라고 말했습니다. 달리 말해, 주님은 우리 수준에 맞춰 몸을 낮추어 이 땅에 오셨으며, 이것은 주님의 나라와 이 세상 사이의 간격을 단번에, 그리고 영원히 메우신 주님의 가장 위대한 업적으로 이어졌습니다. 주님이 그렇게 하신 후에야 비로소 우리는 주님이 우리의 최고의 찬양과 예배를 받으시기에 합당한 분이심을 이해할 수 있게 되었습니다!

Jesus bridged the gap between the infinite God and finite man.

John 1:10-18

[10] He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
[11] He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
[12] But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
[13] who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
[15] John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.'"
[16] And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.
[17] For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
[18] No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

주님은 합당하시네 우리 평생토록
우리 모든 사랑과 최고의 찬양을 받으시기에
우리 죄와 허물 지시고 주님 돌아가셨네
오, 구주의 거룩한 이름을 송축할지라!

예수님은 무한하신 하나님과 유한한 인간 사이의
간격을 메워주셨다.

요한복음 1:10-18

[10] 그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하였고
[11] 자기 땅에 오매 자기 백성이 영접하지 아니하였으나
[12] 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니
[13] 이는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로부터 난 자들이니라
[14] 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라
[15] 요한이 그에 대하여 증언하여 외쳐 이르되 내가 전에 말하기를 내 뒤에 오시는 이가 나보다 앞선 것은 나보다 먼저 계심이라 한 것이 이 사람을 가리킴이라 하니라
[16] 우리가 다 그의 충만한 데서 받으니 은혜 위에 은혜러라
[17] 율법은 모세로 말미암아 주어진 것이요 은혜와 진리는 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 온 것이라
[18] 본래 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 아버지 품 속에 있는 독생하신 하나님이 나타내셨느니라
