Grace, Mercy, And Peace		은혜와 긍휼과 평강
[ 2 Timothy 1:1 - 1:10 ] - hymn 21 Bless the Lord, ... who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. - Psalm 103:1,4 The words grace and peace are found in all of Paul¡¯s greetings in his New Testament letters to the churches. And in his letters to Timothy and Titus, he also includes mercy: ¡°Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord¡±(2 Tim.1:2). Let¡¯s examine each of these words. Grace is what our holy God gives that we, as sinful people, don¡¯t deserve. In Acts 17:25, we learn that ¡°He gives to all life, breath, and all things.¡± His gifts include our very next breath. Even in our darkest hour, strength is given by God so that we can endure. Mercy is what God withholds that we do deserve. In Lamentations 3:22, we read, ¡°Through the Lord¡¯s mercies we are not consumed.¡± Even when we¡¯re wayward, God gives time and help for us to turn back to Him. Peace is what God brings to His people. Jesus said: ¡°Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you¡±(John 14:27). Even in the worst of times, we have inner tranquillity because our God is in control. We can be encouraged that throughout our lives the Lord will give us the grace, mercy, and peace we need to live for Him.		[ 디모데후서 1:1 - 1:10 ] - 찬송가 21 장 여호와를 송축하라... 인자와 긍휼로 관을 씌우시며－시편 103:1,4 은혜와 평강이라는 단어는 바울이 교회들에게 보낸 신약성경 서신서의 모든 인사말에 등장합니다. 그리고 디모데와 디도에게 보낸 편지에는 긍휼이라는 단어가 추가됩니다. “하나님 아버지와 그리스도 예수 우리 주께로부터 은혜와 긍휼과 평강이 네게 있을지어다”(딤후 1:2). 이 단어들을 하나씩 살펴보겠습니다. 은혜는 거룩하신 하나님께서 죄로 인해 받을 자격이 없는 우리에게 주시는 것입니다. 사도행전 17장 25절에서 우리는 “(하나님은) 만민에게 생명과 호흡과 만물을 친히 주시는 자”라고 배웁니다. 우리의 바로 다음 순간의 호흡도 하나님의 선물입니다. 우리가 가장 힘든 시간에도, 하나님은 우리가 능히 견뎌낼 수 있도록 힘을 주십니다. 긍휼은 우리가 마땅히 받아야 하는 것을 하나님께서 보류하고 계시는 것을 말합니다. 예레미야애가 3장 22절은 “여호와의 자비와 긍휼이 무궁하시므로 우리가 진멸되지 아니함이니이다”라고 말하고 있습니다. 비록 우리가 제멋대로 살 때에도 하나님은 우리가 그분께로 돌아갈 수 있도록 시간과 도움을 베푸십니다. 평강은 하나님께서 당신의 백성들에게 가져다주시는 것입니다. 예수님은 “평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것 같지 아니하니라”(요 14:27)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 가장 견디기 어려운 순간에도 하나님이 모든 것을 주관하시기에 우리는 내적 평안함을 가집니다. 주님은 우리가 살아가는 동안 주님을 위해 사는데 필요한 은혜와 긍휼과 평강을 주신다는 사실에 우리는 용기를 얻을 수 있습니다.

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace. — Flint

God¡¯s grace is immeasurable, His mercy is inexhaustible, His peace is inexpressible.

2 Timothy 1:1-10

[1] Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
[2] To Timothy, a beloved son£º Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
[3] I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day,
[4] greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy,
[5] when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
[6] Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
[7] For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
[8] Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,
[9] who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
[10] but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

짐이 무거워질 때 주님은 더 큰 은혜를 주시고
일이 많아질 때 주님은 더 강한 힘을 주시네
고난이 더해지면 주님은 긍휼을 더하시고
시련이 늘어나면 주님은 평강을 늘려주시네

하나님의 은혜는 측량할 수 없고, 그의 긍휼은 다함이 없으며,
그의 평강은 표현할 길이 없다.

디모데후서 1:1-10

[1] 하나님의 뜻으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 약속대로 그리스도 예수의 사도 된 바울은
[2] 사랑하는 아들 디모데에게 편지하노니 하나님 아버지와 그리스도 예수 우리 주께로부터 은혜와 긍휼과 평강이 네게 있을지어다
[3] 내가 밤낮 간구하는 가운데 쉬지 않고 너를 생각하여 청결한 양심으로 조상적부터 섬겨 오는 하나님께 감사하고
[4] 네 눈물을 생각하여 너 보기를 원함은 내 기쁨이 가득하게 하려 함이니
[5] 이는 네 속에 거짓이 없는 믿음이 있음을 생각함이라 이 믿음은 먼저 네 외조모 로이스와 네 어머니 유니게 속에 있더니 네 속에도 있는 줄을 확신하노라
[6] 그러므로 내가 나의 안수함으로 네 속에 있는 하나님의 은사를 다시 불일듯 하게 하기 위하여 너로 생각하게 하노니
[7] 하나님이 우리에게 주신 것은 두려워하는 마음이 아니요 오직 능력과 사랑과 절제하는 마음이니
[8] 그러므로 너는 내가 우리 주를 증언함과 또는 주를 위하여 갇힌 자 된 나를 부끄러워하지 말고 오직 하나님의 능력을 따라 복음과 함께 고난을 받으라
[9] 하나님이 우리를 구원하사 거룩하신 소명으로 부르심은 우리의 행위대로 하심이 아니요 오직 자기의 뜻과 영원 전부터 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 주신 은혜대로 하심이라
[10] 이제는 우리 구주 그리스도 예수의 나타나심으로 말미암아 나타났으니 그는 사망을 폐하시고 복음으로써 생명과 썩지 아니할 것을 드러내신지라
