A Last Farewell		마지막 작별인사
[ 2 Timothy 4:6 - 4:22 ] - hymn 543 I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. - 2 Timothy 4:6 After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, 47-year-old Randy Pausch returned to Carnegie Mellon University to deliver a final lecture to colleagues, students, and friends. The professor of computer science thought that perhaps 150 people might show up. Instead the 400-seat auditorium was packed. For an hour, Randy opened his heart to them in a humorous, insightful, and moving farewell that was focused more on living than dying. Within weeks, the videotaped lecture had been seen by millions on the Internet and later became the seed of a bestselling book. Those facing death often have an unusually clear perspective on what is truly important in life. The apostle Paul¡¯s last farewell has inspired countless followers of Christ through the centuries. ¡°The time of my departure is at hand,¡± wrote Paul. ¡°I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith¡± (2 Tim. 4:6-7). Paul¡¯s instruction to Timothy spans the ages to challenge us as well. The letter begins and ends with God¡¯s grace (1:2; 4:22) and in between is a celebration of the unceasing faithfulness of God. A message from the dying can give purpose to the living. Paul¡¯s triumphant finale, ¡°To Him be glory forever and ever¡± (4:18), is a message we can all live by. If we are ready to die, we are ready to live.

2 Timothy 4:6-22

[6] For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
[7] I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
[8] Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
[9] Be diligent to come to me quickly;
[10] for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica--Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.
[11] Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.
[12] And Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.
[13] Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come--and the books, especially the parchments.
[14] Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works.
[15] You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.
[16] At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.
[17] But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
[18] And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
[19] Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
[20] Erastus stayed in Corinth, but Trophimus I have left in Miletus sick.
[21] Do your utmost to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as well as Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brethren.
[22] The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

우리는 영원한 것을 위하여 살고 있는가
아니면 사라질 것들을 위해서 살고 있는가
우리는 세상의 칭찬을 들으려고 노력하고 있는가
아니면 그날에 “잘했다”는 주님의 칭찬을 들으려고 노력하고 있는가

우리가 죽을 준비가 되어있다면, 살 준비가 되어있는 것이다.

디모데후서 4:6-22

[7] 나는 선한 싸움을 싸우고 나의 달려갈 길을 마치고 믿음을 지켰으니
[8] 이제 후로는 나를 위하여 의의 면류관이 예비되었으므로 주 곧 의로우신 재판장이 그 날에 내게 주실 것이며 내게만 아니라 주의 나타나심을 사모하는 모든 자에게도니라
[9] 너는 어서 속히 내게로 오라
[10] 데마는 이 세상을 사랑하여 나를 버리고 데살로니가로 갔고 그레스게는 갈라디아로, 디도는 달마디아로 갔고
[11] 누가만 나와 함께 있느니라 네가 올 때에 마가를 데리고 오라 그가 나의 일에 유익하니라
[12] 두기고는 에베소로 보내었노라
[13] 네가 올 때에 내가 드로아 가보의 집에 둔 겉옷을 가지고 오고 또 책은 특별히 가죽 종이에 쓴 것을 가져오라
[14] 구리 세공업자 알렉산더가 내게 해를 많이 입혔으매 주께서 그 행한 대로 그에게 갚으시리니
[15] 너도 그를 주의하라 그가 우리 말을 심히 대적하였느니라
[16] 내가 처음 변명할 때에 나와 함께 한 자가 하나도 없고 다 나를 버렸으나 그들에게 허물을 돌리지 않기를 원하노라
[17] 주께서 내 곁에 서서 나에게 힘을 주심은 나로 말미암아 선포된 말씀이 온전히 전파되어 모든 이방인이 듣게 하려 하심이니 내가 사자의 입에서 건짐을 받았느니라
[18] 주께서 나를 모든 악한 일에서 건져내시고 또 그의 천국에 들어가도록 구원하시리니 그에게 영광이 세세무궁토록 있을지어다 아멘

[20] 에라스도는 고린도에 머물러 있고 드로비모는 병들어서 밀레도에 두었노니

[22] 나는 주께서 네 심령에 함께 계시기를 바라노니 은혜가 너희와 함께 있을지어다
