The Doers Of The World		세상 일을 행하는 자
[ James 1:19 - 1:27 ] - hymn 377 Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only. — James 1:22 Just after we moved to a house in a new neighborhood, we invited my sister-in-law and her husband over for Sunday dinner. As we were greeting Sue and Ted at the door, an odd noise directed their eyes toward the kitchen. As I followed their gaze, I froze in horror. An errant hose of our old portable dishwasher was whipping about like the trunk of an angry elephant, spewing water everywhere! Sue went into action mode. Dropping her purse, she was in the kitchen before me, shutting off the water and calling for towels and a mop. We spent the first 15 minutes of their visit on our knees mopping the floor. Sue is a doer—and the world is a better place because of the doers of the world. These are the people who are always ready to pitch in, to be involved, and even to lead if necessary. Many of the doers of the world are also doers of the Word. These are the followers of Jesus who have taken the challenge of James to heart: ¡°Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only¡±(1:22). Are you doing all that you know God wants you to do? As you read God¡¯s Word, put what you¡¯ve learned into practice. First hear—then do. God¡¯s blessing comes as a result of our obedience (v.25).		[ 야고보서 1:19 - 1:27 ] - 찬송가 377 장 너희는 도를 행하는 자가되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라－야고보서 1:22 우리가 새 동네로 갓 이사한 뒤 시누이와 그의 남편을 주일 저녁식사에 초대했습니다. 문에서 수와 테드를 맞이하려는 순간 부엌에서 나는 이상한 소리가 그들의 시선을 끌었습니다. 그들의 눈길을 따라 돌아보던 나는 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 낡은 이동식 식기세척기의 고장난 호스가 마치 성난 코끼리의 코가 요동치듯 물을 사방으로 쏟아내고 있었던 것입니다. 수는 주저하지 않고 움직였습니다. 가방을 내려놓고 나보다 먼저 부엌에 들어가 물을 잠그더니 수건과 대걸레를 달라고 외쳤습니다. 그들이 우리 집에 오자마자 15분 동안 우리는 무릎 꿇고 걸레질을 했습니다. 수는 행동가입니다. 세상은 행동하는 사람들로 인해 더 나은 곳이 됩니다. 이들은 언제나 도와주고, 참여하고, 필요하다면 리더가 될 준비까지도 되어 있는 사람들입니다. 세상일을 행하는 많은 사람들은 또한 “말씀”을 행하는 자들이기도 합니다. 이들은 “너희는 도를 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라”(1:22)라는 야고보의 권면을 마음에 품고 예수님을 따르는 사람들입니다. 당신은 하나님께서 원하시는 일을 모두 잘하고 있습니까? 하나님의 말씀을 읽고 배운 것들을 행동에 옮기십시오. 먼저 듣고, 그 다음 실행하십시오. 하나님의 축복은 우리가 순종한 결과로 임하게 됩니다(25절).

We need to hear the Word of God
To know what we should do,
But listening is not enough

The value of the Bible does not consist merely in knowing it, but in obeying it.

James 1:19-27

[19] So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
[20] for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
[21] Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
[22] But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
[23] For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
[24] for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
[25] But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
[26] If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless.
[27] Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this£º to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

무엇을 해야 하는지 알기 위해
하나님의 말씀을 들어야만 한다네
하지만 잘 실행하지 않으면서
듣기만 하는 것은 소용이 없다네

성경의 가치는 그것을 알기만 하는 데 있지 않고
순종하는 데 있다.

야고보서 1:19-27

[19] 내 사랑하는 형제들아 너희가 알지니 사람마다 듣기는 속히 하고 말하기는 더디 하며 성내기도 더디 하라
[20] 사람이 성내는 것이 하나님의 의를 이루지 못함이라
[21] 그러므로 모든 더러운 것과 넘치는 악을 내버리고 너희 영혼을 능히 구원할 바 마음에 심어진 말씀을 온유함으로 받으라
[22] 너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라
[23] 누구든지 말씀을 듣고 행하지 아니하면 그는 거울로 자기의 생긴 얼굴을 보는 사람과 같아서
[24] 제 자신을 보고 가서 그 모습이 어떠했는지를 곧 잊어버리거니와
[25] 자유롭게 하는 온전한 율법을 들여다보고 있는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니요 실천하는 자니 이 사람은 그 행하는 일에 복을 받으리라
[26] 누구든지 스스로 경건하다 생각하며 자기 혀를 재갈 물리지 아니하고 자기 마음을 속이면 이 사람의 경건은 헛것이라
[27] 하나님 아버지 앞에서 정결하고 더러움이 없는 경건은 곧 고아와 과부를 그 환난중에 돌보고 또 자기를 지켜 세속에 물들지 아니하는 그것이니라
