The Price Of Involvement		동참의 대가
[ 2 Corinthians 11:22 - 11:33 ] - hymn 369 ... besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. — 2 Corinthians 11:28 While making his landmark documentary about World War II, filmmaker Ken Burns and his colleagues watched thousands of hours of military footage. Scenes of the devastating Battle of Peleliu often invaded their dreams at night. Burns told Sacramento Bee reporter Rick Kushman, ¡°You¡¯re listening to the ghosts and echoes from an almost inexpressible past. If you do that, you put yourself into the emotional maelstrom.¡± There¡¯s a price to becoming involved in the struggles of others, whether artistically or spiritually. Paul experienced this in his work of sharing the gospel: ¡°Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches. Who is weak without my being weak? Who is led into sin without my intense concern?¡±(2 Cor.11:28-29 NASB). Oswald Chambers said we enter this spiritual struggle as we ¡°deliberately identify ourselves with God¡¯s interests in other people¡± and ¡°find to our amazement that we have power to keep wonderfully poised in the center of it all.¡± Paul realized that God¡¯s strength is made perfect in our weakness(2 Cor.12:9). Jesus paid the greatest price to be involved in our world, and He strengthens us as we share His love with others.		[ 고린도후서 11:22 - 11:33 ] - 찬송가 369 장 이 외의 일은 고사하고 오히려 날마다 내 속에 눌리는 일이 있으니 곧 모든 교회를 위하여 염려하는 것이라－고린도후서 11:28 제2차 세계대전에 대한 획기적인 기록영화를 제작하면서 영화제작자 켄 번스와 그의 동료들은 군사기록 필름을 수천시간 동안 보아야 했습니다. 펠릴리우 전투의 충격적인 장면들이 밤에 자주 그들의 꿈에 나타났습니다. 번스는 「새크라멘토 비」신문의 기자인 릭 쿠쉬맨에게 다음과 같이 말했습니다. “표현하기 거의 불가능하지만 과거로부터 유령들이 외치는 소리를 듣는 것 같습니다. 그 상황에서는 감정의 혼란에 빠질 수밖에 없습니다.” 예술이든 영적이든 다른 이의 고난에 동참하는 것에는 대가가 따릅니다. 바울도 복음전파 사역을 하는 중에 이 경험을 하였습니다. “이 외의 일은 고사하고 오히려 날마다 내 속에 눌리는 일이 있으니 곧 모든 교회를 위하여 염려하는 것이라 누가 약하면 내가 약하지 아니하며 누가 실족하게 되면 내가 애타하지 않더냐”(고후 11:28-29). 오스왈드 챔버스는 우리가 “다른 이들을 향한 하나님의 관심에 동참하고자 할 때, 그리고 놀랍게도 우리에게 이러한 고난 가운데서도 훌륭하게 우리를 지킬 능력이 있음을 발견하게 될 때” 이런 영적 고난을 받게 된다고 말했습니다. 바울사도는 우리가 약할 때에 하나님의 능력이 온전해진다는 것(고후 12:9)을 깨달았습니다. 예수님이 이 세상에 오셔서 엄청난 대가를 치르셨기에, 우리가 주님의 사랑을 다른 이들과 나눌 때 주님은 우리를 강하게 해 주십니다.

Though weak, you still can serve today
And follow Christ¡¯s command;
Behind the lines or in the fray
In Jesus¡¯ strength you stand. — Hess

If we obey God¡¯s calling, He will provide the needed strength.

2 Cor.11:22-33

[22] Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.
[23] Are they ministers of Christ?--I speak as a fool--I am more£º in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.
[24] From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
[25] Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;
[26] in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
[27] in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness--
[28] besides the other things, what comes upon me daily£º my deep concern for all the churches.
[29] Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?
[30] If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity.
[31] The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
[32] In Damascus the governor, under Aretas the king, was guarding the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me;
[33] but I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped from his hands.

나 비록 약할지라도 오늘 섬길 수 있고
그리스도의 명령에 따를 수 있네
적진에 있든 전투 중에 있든
예수님의 강함으로 대적할 수 있네

하나님의 부르심에 순종하면
하나님은 우리에게 필요한 능력을 제공하신다.

고린도후서 11:22-33

[22] 그들이 히브리인이냐 나도 그러하며 그들이 이스라엘인이냐 나도 그러하며 그들이 아브라함의 후손이냐 나도 그러하며
[23] 그들이 그리스도의 일꾼이냐 정신 없는 말을 하거니와 나는 더욱 그러하도다 내가 수고를 넘치도록 하고 옥에 갇히기도 더 많이 하고 매도 수없이 맞고 여러 번 죽을 뻔하였으니
[24] 유대인들에게 사십에서 하나 감한 매를 다섯 번 맞았으며
[25] 세 번 태장으로 맞고 한 번 돌로 맞고 세 번 파선하고 일 주야를 깊은 바다에서 지냈으며
[26] 여러 번 여행하면서 강의 위험과 강도의 위험과 동족의 위험과 이방인의 위험과 시내의 위험과 광야의 위험과 바다의 위험과 거짓 형제 중의 위험을 당하고
[27] 또 수고하며 애쓰고 여러 번 자지 못하고 주리며 목마르고 여러 번 굶고 춥고 헐벗었노라
[28] 이 외의 일은 고사하고 아직도 날마다 내 속에 눌리는 일이 있으니 곧 모든 교회를 위하여 염려하는 것이라
[29] 누가 약하면 내가 약하지 아니하며 누가 실족하게 되면 내가 애타지 아니하더냐
[30] 내가 부득불 자랑할진대 내가 약한 것을 자랑하리라
[31] 주 예수의 아버지 영원히 찬송할 하나님이 내가 거짓말 아니하는 것을 아시느니라
[32] 다메섹에서 아레다 왕의 고관이 나를 잡으려고 다메섹 성을 지켰으나
[33] 나는 광주리를 타고 들창문으로 성벽을 내려가 그 손에서 벗어났노라
