Show Up Before You Speak Up		말하기 전에 행동으로 보여라
[ Matthew 5:11 - 5:16 ] - hymn 514 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father. — Matthew 5:16 There was a time when a certain West Coast city may have been one of the most hostile places to the gospel in America. Posters in coffee shops advertised witchcraft meetings where you could learn to cast a spell on your enemies. It was such a challenging environment for churches that they struggled to get building permits from the city council. And there was a lot of ¡°woe is me¡± talk among church leaders. Until a group of pastors began to meet to pray regularly and then decided to take the love of Jesus into their city. They started a ministry to the homeless, to those suffering with AIDS, to teens at risk. Faithfully and intentionally they brought the love of Jesus to the needs of hurting people. Before long, the city agencies started calling on them for help. Better yet, the churches started growing as people responded to the gospel in action. Which proves the point: Sometimes you¡¯ve got to ¡°show up¡± before you speak up. No one really wants to hear what we have to say about the love of Jesus until they¡¯ve seen it in our lives(Matt.5:16). Then even the most ardent opponents to the gospel may just be glad you¡¯re in their town, their office, or their neighborhood. And then you just might be able to tell them about Jesus.		[ 마태복음 5:11 - 5:16 ] - 찬송가 514 장 너희 빛을 사람 앞에 비취게 하여 저희로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라－마태복음 5:16 서부 해안에 있는 어떤 도시가 한때는 미국에서 복음에 대해 가장 적대적인 지역 중 하나였을 것입니다. 커피숍에는 싫어하는 사람에게 마술을 거는 법을 배울 수 있는 마법동호회 광고 포스터가 나붙어 있곤 했습니다. 교회에 대해 너무 비우호적인 환경이었기 때문에 교회가 시의회로부터 건축허가를 받으려면 상당히 애를 먹어야 했습니다. 교회지도자들 사이에 “고통스럽다”는 말들이 많이 오고갔습니다. 몇 명의 목사들이 정기적으로 기도모임을 갖기 시작하다가, 그들이 사는 곳에 예수님의 사랑을 행동으로 옮겨보자는 결의를 하게 되기 전까지는 말입니다. 그들은 노숙자, 에이즈 환자, 위험에 처한 10대 청소년 등을 대상으로 사역을 시작했습니다. 그들은 어려움에 처해 있는 상처받은 사람들에게 신실하면서도 계획적으로 주님의 사랑을 전했습니다. 얼마 지나지 않아, 그 도시의 여러 기관에서 도움을 요청하는 전화가 오기 시작했습니다. 더 좋았던 것은, 행동으로 실천되는 복음에 사람들이 반응하게 되면서 교회들이 성장하기 시작했다는 것입니다. 이 일은 말하기 전에 때로는 먼저 “행동으로 보여주어야” 한다는 사실을 잘 입증해 줍니다. 우리의 삶 가운데에서 예수님의 사랑을 행동으로 나타내 보이지 않으면, 아무도 우리가 주님의 사랑에 대해 말하는 것을 들으려 하지 않습니다(마 5:16). 우리가 행동으로 보여줄 때, 복음에 대해 극렬히 반대하던 사람들조차 우리가 그들 동네에, 사무실에, 또 이웃에 있는 것을 반기게 될 것이며, 그때 우리는 그들에게 예수님에 대해 전할 수 있을 것입니다.

When you share the gospel, make sure you live the gospel.

Matthew 5:11-16

[11] "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
[12] "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
[13] "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
[14] "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15] "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
[16] "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

예수님의 귀한 피로 구속 받았으니
하나님이 불러주신 대로 앞으로 나아가세
주님의 사랑을 나타내고, 주님의 삶을 살고
주님의 복음을 전하고, 주님의 자비를 베풀 수 있도록

복음을 전하고자 한다면, 먼저 복음대로 살아야 한다.

마태복음 5:11-16

[11] 나로 말미암아 너희를 욕하고 박해하고 거짓으로 너희를 거슬러 모든 악한 말을 할 때에는 너희에게 복이 있나니
[12] 기뻐하고 즐거워하라 하늘에서 너희의 상이 큼이라 너희 전에 있던 선지자들도 이같이 박해하였느니라
[13] 너희는 세상의 소금이니 소금이 만일 그 맛을 잃으면 무엇으로 짜게 하리요 후에는 아무 쓸 데 없어 다만 밖에 버려져 사람에게 밟힐 뿐이니라
[14] 너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요
[15] 사람이 등불을 켜서 말 아래에 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이러므로 집 안 모든 사람에게 비치느니라
[16] 이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라
