Silence And Trust		침묵과 신뢰
[ John 11:1 - 11:10 ] - hymn 338 When [Jesus] heard that [Lazarus] was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. - John 11:6 In one of Joe Morgenstern¡¯s weekly Wall Street Journal columns about movies, he considered the impact of the great film stars in close-up scenes where they said nothing at all. ¡°Movie stars,¡± he wrote, ¡°can do as little as they do at crucial moments because, having already earned our respect, they can assume that we¡¯re paying attention.¡± This quality of powerful silence that we admire in actors and actresses, however, can be frustrating or disappointing in our relationship with God when He is silent. When Lazarus, a close friend of Jesus, became seriously ill, his sisters Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus. But ¡°when [Jesus] heard that [Lazarus] was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was¡± (John 11:6). Commenting on this passage, Oswald Chambers said: ¡°Has God trusted you with a silence—a silence that is big with meaning? ... Think of those days of absolute silence in the home at Bethany! Is there anything analogous to those days in your life? ... His silence is the sign that He is bringing you into a marvellous understanding of Himself... If God has given you a silence, praise Him, He is bringing you into the great run of His purposes.¡± We can trust our loving Lord, even when He is silent. — David C. True trust in God stays strong even when He is silent.

John 11:1-11

[1] Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
[2] It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
[3] Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick."
[4] When Jesus heard that, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."
[5] Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
[6] So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.
[7] Then after this He said to the disciples, "Let us go to Judea again."
[8] The disciples said to Him, "Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?"
[9] Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
[10] "But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."

하나님은 우리의 마음을 채워주시려
침묵하며 기다리고 계시네
우리의 영혼이 고요하며 평온하며
마음이 깨끗하게 비워질 때까지

하나님을 진실로 신뢰하면
주님이 침묵하실 때에도 굳세게 견딜 수 있다.

요한복음 11:1-10

[1] 어떤 병자가 있으니 이는 마리아와 그 자매 마르다의 마을 베다니에 사는 나사로라
[2] 이 마리아는 향유를 주께 붓고 머리털로 주의 발을 닦던 자요 병든 나사로는 그의 오라버니더라
[3] 이에 그 누이들이 예수께 사람을 보내어 이르되 주여 보시옵소서 사랑하시는 자가 병들었나이다 하니
[4] 예수께서 들으시고 이르시되 이 병은 죽을 병이 아니라 하나님의 영광을 위함이요 하나님의 아들이 이로 말미암아 영광을 받게 하려 함이라 하시더라
[5] 예수께서 본래 마르다와 그 동생과 나사로를 사랑하시더니
[6] 나사로가 병들었다 함을 들으시고 그 계시던 곳에 이틀을 더 유하시고
[7] 그 후에 제자들에게 이르시되 유대로 다시 가자 하시니
[8] 제자들이 말하되 랍비여 방금도 유대인들이 돌로 치려 하였는데 또 그리로 가시려 하나이까
[9] 예수께서 대답하시되 낮이 열두 시간이 아니냐 사람이 낮에 다니면 이 세상의 빛을 보므로 실족하지 아니하고
[10] 밤에 다니면 빛이 그 사람 안에 없는 고로 실족하느니라
