Make My Brown Eyes Blue		내 갈색 눈을 파란 눈으로
[ Matthew 16:24 - 16:28 ] - hymn 355 Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. - Matthew 16:25 As a young girl, Amy Carmichael (1867–1951) wished she had blue eyes instead of brown. She even prayed that God would change her eye color and was disappointed when it didn¡¯t happen. At age 20, Amy sensed that the Lord was calling her to serve Him as a missionary. After serving in various places, she went to India. It was then that she realized God¡¯s wisdom in the way He had made her. She may have had a more difficult time gaining acceptance from the brown-eyed people if her eyes had been blue. She served God in India for 55 years. We don¡¯t know for sure that Amy was more readily accepted because of her eye color. But we do know and believe that it is the Lord ¡°who has made us, and not we ourselves¡±(Ps.100:3). As we submit to His wisdom in everything, we can serve Him effectively. Amy knew what submission was. When asked about missionary life, she replied, ¡°Missionary life is simply a chance to die.¡± Jesus said, ¡°Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it¡±(Matt.16:25). That describes the devoted Christian¡¯s life as well— total surrender to God¡¯s plans and will for us. May we submit to Him today. — Anne Cetas		[ 마태복음 16:24 - 16:28 ] - 찬송가 355 장 누구든지 나를 위하여 제목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라－마태복음 16:25 에이미 카마이클(1867-1951)은 어렸을 때 갈색 눈보다 파란 눈을 가지기를 원했습니다. 그녀는 하나님께 자기의 눈 색깔을 바꾸어달라고 기도하기까지 했지만, 그렇게 되지 않자 실망했습니다. 스무 살이 되었을 때 그녀는 하나님이 자기를 선교사로 부르신다는 것을 느끼게 되었습니다. 그녀는 여러 지역에서 사역을 한 후 인도로 갔습니다. 그때 비로소 그녀는 자기를 그렇게 만드신 하나님의 지혜를 깨닫게 되었습니다. 그녀가 파란 눈을 가졌더라면 갈색 눈을 가진 인도사람들로부터 받아들여지는데 더 힘들었을 것입니다. 그녀는 인도에서 55년 동안 하나님을 섬겼습니다. 에이미가 눈 색깔 때문에 더 쉽게 받아들여진 것인지는 확실치 않습니다. 그러나 우리가 믿고 아는 것은 “우리를 지으신 자”(시 100:3)는 주님이시지 우리가 아니라는 것입니다. 모든 일에서 주님의 지혜에 순종할 때, 우리는 효과적으로 주님을 섬길 수 있습니다. 에이미는 순종이 무엇이라는 것을 알았습니다. 선교사의 삶에 대해 질문을 받았을 때 그녀는 “선교사의 삶이란 간단히 말해 죽을 수 있는 기회입니다.”라고 대답했습니다. 예수님은 “누구든지 제 목숨을 구원코자 하면 잃을 것이요 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라”(마 16:25)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그것은 또한 우리를 향한 하나님의 계획과 뜻에 철저히 순종하는 헌신된 그리스도인의 삶을 잘 묘사해주고 있습니다. 오늘 하나님께 순종하십시오.

Matthew 16:24-28

[24] Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
[25] "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
[26] "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
[27] "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
[28] "Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."

주님이 나를 위해 마련해 놓으신 길을
내가 이해하지 못한다 해도
주님의 뜻에 완전히 순종하는 것
주여, 이것이 나의 기도가 되게 하소서

우리의 삶은 하나님께 완전히 내맡겨졌을 때 가장 안전하다.

마태복음 16:24-28

[24] 이에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 누구든지 나를 따라오려거든 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 따를 것이니라
[25] 누구든지 제 목숨을 구원하고자 하면 잃을 것이요 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라
[26] 사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 제 목숨과 바꾸겠느냐
[27] 인자가 아버지의 영광으로 그 천사들과 함께 오리니 그 때에 각 사람이 행한 대로 갚으리라
[28] 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 여기 서 있는 사람 중에 죽기 전에 인자가 그 왕권을 가지고 오는 것을 볼 자들도 있느니라
