Far Better		한결 낫다
[ Revelation 21:1 - 21:4 ] - hymn 490 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. - Revelation 21:4 Having suffered greatly—first from cancer, and then from the grueling medical regimen—pastor Dan Cummings was tired. After 2 weeks of treatment in Texas, he was looking forward to going back home to Michigan. In a post on his blog, he wrote: ¡°Today is far better ... amazing what some hydration will do.... Will fly home on the weekend to continue treatment at home.¡± Dan did return to Michigan, but several days later, his journey on earth ended. He went home to be with his God—whom he loved with every bit of his weakened body but mighty spirit. When I viewed his blog a few days later, his words ¡°Today is far better¡± jumped out at me. I smiled through my tears in the knowledge that Dan was now experiencing a life that is truly ¡°far better¡±(Phil.1:23). Someday we who claim the name of Jesus will also go to that place where there is ¡°no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.¡± It¡¯s a place where there is no more pain and where a loving Father promises to ¡°wipe away every tear from [our] eyes¡±(Rev.21:4). The life we have here isn¡¯t all there is. There is a far, far better place that Jesus is preparing for those who love Him (John 14:2-3). — Cindy Hess Kasper		[ 요한계시록 21:1 - 21:4 ] - 찬송가 490 장 모든 눈물을 그 눈에서 씻기시매 다시 사망이 없고 애통하는 것이나 곡하는 것이나...있지 아니하리니－요한계시록 21:4 처음에는 암 때문에, 나중에는 힘든 치료를 하느라 몹시 고생을 한 댄 커밍스 목사는 지쳐있었습니다. 텍사스 주에서 2주간의 치료를 마친 후 그는 미시간 주에 있는 집으로 돌아가기를 기다리고 있었습니다. 목사님은 자신의 블로그에 “오늘은 한결 낫다...약간의 수분 섭취가 주는 효과란 정말이지 놀랍다...주말이 되면 집으로 돌아가 치료를 계속할 것이다.”라고 썼습니다. 댄 목사는 그 말대로 미시간 주로 돌아오기는 했지만, 며칠 후 세상에서의 그의 여정은 끝이 났습니다. 그는 강인한 영성을 빼고는 쇠약해진 온몸으로 주님을 사랑했고 그분과 함께 하기 위해 본향으로 갔습니다. 며칠이 지난 후 그의 블로그를 보던 나에 게 “오늘은 한결 낫다”라는 말이 인상 깊게 다가왔습니다. 댄 목사가 이제 진정 “한결 나아진”(빌 1:23) 삶을 경험하고 있다는 것을 깨달으며 나는 눈물 속에서도 미소 지을 수 있었습니다. 언젠가는 예수를 따르는 우리들은 “사망도, 애통하는 것도, 곡하는 것도 없는” 그곳으로 갈 것입니다. 그곳은 더 이상 고통도 없으며, 사랑하는 주님이 약속하신 “모든 눈물을 그 눈에서 씻기실” 곳입니다(계 21:4). 이 세상에서의 삶이 전부가 아닙니다. 예수님이 자신을 사모하는 사람들을 위하여 예비하신 훨씬 더 좋은 곳이 있습니다(요 14:2-3).

When our life on earth has ended

Heaven—no pain, no night, no death, no tears.

Revelation 21:1-4

[1] Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
[2] Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[3] And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
[4] "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

세상에서의 우리 삶이 끝날 때
우리는 하나님의 자애로운 품을 느끼게 되리
훨씬 정말 훨씬 좋은 그 곳에서
더 이상 고통도 슬픔도 없으리

고통도, 어두운 밤도, 죽음도, 눈물도 없는 그곳이 천국이다.

요한계시록 21:1-4

[1] 또 내가 새 하늘과 새 땅을 보니 처음 하늘과 처음 땅이 없어졌고 바다도 다시 있지 않더라
[2] 또 내가 보매 거룩한 성 새 예루살렘이 하나님께로부터 하늘에서 내려오니 그 준비한 것이 신부가 남편을 위하여 단장한 것 같더라
[3] 내가 들으니 보좌에서 큰 음성이 나서 이르되 보라 하나님의 장막이 사람들과 함께 있으매 하나님이 그들과 함께 계시리니 그들은 하나님의 백성이 되고 하나님은 친히 그들과 함께 계셔서
[4] 모든 눈물을 그 눈에서 닦아 주시니 다시는 사망이 없고 애통하는 것이나 곡하는 것이나 아픈 것이 다시 있지 아니하리니 처음 것들이 다 지나갔음이러라
