The Fairest		만유의 주재
[ Revelation 5:8 - 5:14 ] - hymn 48 Worthy is the Lamb who was slain! — Revelation 5:12 When I first became a Christian and started attending church at age 19, I immediately fell in love with singing the great hymns of the faith. My heart overflowed with joy and thanksgiving as we sang of God¡¯s love for us in Christ. Soon one of my favorite hymns (from the late 1600s) became ¡°Fairest Lord Jesus!¡± I love the simplicity of the melody and the awesomeness of the One exalted in these words: Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight, and all the twinkling starry host: Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer than all the angels heaven can boast. Beautiful Savior! Lord of the nations! Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, praise, adoration now and forevermore be Thine! God¡¯s Son, whom we sing about in this song, came to this earth, lived a perfect life, and gave Himself for us on the cross(Luke 23:33). He arose from the grave(Luke 24:6) and is now seated at God¡¯s right hand (Heb. 1:3). One day we¡¯ll join in worship with thousands upon thousands and say: ¡°Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!¡±(Rev.5:13). Maybe we¡¯ll sing ¡°Fairest Lord Jesus!¡± too.		[ 요한계시록 5:8 - 5:14 ] - 찬송가 48 장 죽임을 당하신 어린양이...합당하도다－요한계시록 5:12 열아홉 살 나던 해 처음 그리스도인이 되어 교회에 나가기 시작하면서부터 바로 나는 믿음을 노래한 멋진 찬송가 부르기를 아주 좋아하게 되었습니다. 우리에 대한 하나님의 사랑을 그리스도 안에서 찬양할 때 내 마음은 기쁨과 감사로 넘쳐났습니다. 그리고 그 찬송가 “만유의 주재”는 내가 좋아하는 찬송가들(1600년대말부터 전해내려오는) 중 하나가 되었습니다. 나는 이 찬송가의 단순한 선율과 가사에 나타난 높이 들리신 주님의 경외로움을 사랑합니다. 광명한 해와 명랑한 저 달빛 수많은 별들 비치나 주 예수 빛은 더 찬란하여 참 비교할 수 없도다. 아름다운 구세주여! 만국의 주시여! 성자와 인자되신 주! 영광과 존경, 찬양, 경배 지금부터 영원토록 주님께 드립니다! 이 찬송가에서 우리가 찬양하는 하나님의 아들은 이 세상에 오셔서 완벽한 삶을 사셨으며 우리를 위해서 십자가에서 돌아가셨습니다(눅 23:33). 무덤에서 부활하셨고(눅 24:6) 지금 하나님 우편에 앉아계십니다 (히 1:3). 언젠가 우리는 수많은 사람들과 더불어 예배하며 “보좌에 앉으신 이와 어린양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 능력을 세세토록 돌릴찌어다”(계 5:13)라고 외칠 것입니다. 아마도 찬송가 “만유의 주재”도 부르게 되겠지요.

We can never praise Jesus too much.

Revelation 5:8-14

[8] Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
[9] And they sang a new song, saying£º "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
[10] And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth."
[11] Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,
[12] saying with a loud voice£º "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!"
[13] And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying£º "Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
[14] Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

그때까지 예수님의 말씀 가운데서 지혜를 찾고 그의 뜻대로 살면서 예수님이 우리의 각자 삶 속에 그 무엇보다도 “가장 광명하신 분”이 되게 합시다.

우리가 아무리 예수님을 찬양해도 지나침이 없다.

요한계시록 5:8-14

[8] 그 두루마리를 취하시매 네 생물과 이십사 장로들이 그 어린 양 앞에 엎드려 각각 거문고와 향이 가득한 금 대접을 가졌으니 이 향은 성도의 기도들이라
[9] 그들이 새 노래를 불러 이르되 두루마리를 가지시고 그 인봉을 떼기에 합당하시도다 일찍이 죽임을 당하사 각 족속과 방언과 백성과 나라 가운데에서 사람들을 피로 사서 하나님께 드리시고
[10] 그들로 우리 하나님 앞에서 나라와 제사장들을 삼으셨으니 그들이 땅에서 왕 노릇 하리로다 하더라
[11] 내가 또 보고 들으매 보좌와 생물들과 장로들을 둘러 선 많은 천사의 음성이 있으니 그 수가 만만이요 천천이라
[12] 큰 음성으로 이르되 죽임을 당하신 어린 양은 능력과 부와 지혜와 힘과 존귀와 영광과 찬송을 받으시기에 합당하도다 하더라
[13] 내가 또 들으니 하늘 위에와 땅 위에와 땅 아래와 바다 위에와 또 그 가운데 모든 피조물이 이르되 보좌에 앉으신 이와 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 권능을 세세토록 돌릴지어다 하니
[14] 네 생물이 이르되 아멘 하고 장로들은 엎드려 경배하더라
